More will come out about this, I am sure during the campaign. Yes, he was speaking about the NAFTA Superhighway project that he was fighting for, that would make trade easier between Mexico, US, and Canada. I am not into the far out conspiracies of Alex Jones, but the Bilderbergers? I certainly do not trust a group that is sworn to secrecy and way into globalization. (of which they are NOT so secretive about) Realizing that we are already well on our way, who wants to accelerate it? Others might have a different take on this. Me? Nope, I don’t trust that group. This highway project he was fighting for would have had hidden taxes number one, and left our borders open number two, not to mention what it might do to our economy, (that isn’t already done) I will vote ANYONE but Obama, but for now, until more info comes out, I’m not sure I trust him.
Your suspicion and mistrust is part of the process of discernment, Teelyn, which is a good and holy thing when combined with prayer. From everything I read about him, Perry is a globalist and will trot down the same path as GWB. I suspect he hasn’t said anything yet about using foreign powers against American citizens (like Bush in the Northcom treaty) or if he feels comfortable in using our military for the agenda of the U.N. Security Council or how he feels about the Patriot Act, or the NDAA which were all blatant attacks against our constitutional freedom.

I was responding to your post about 40% of the job growth in Texas was attributable to minimum wage jobs.
Right. And my response was if we make our economic solution to be such that nearly half of the jobs created across the nation are minimum wage, and those with diplomas and degrees who are unemployed can only find such work, they will be underemployed with for instance no benefits to afford adequate health care for them and their families when they are sick. 🤷 Unless of course you want to increase Medicaid spending.

Look at the hate directed at GWB. It truly was over the top.
The poster said things could get ugly if the president lost. That kind of thing requires some explanation.

Especially since we were talking about campaign tactics, not an aftermath.

He's talking about potential rioting and looting. Look at what happened in Wisconsin already, when the governor proposed solvency! BTW, I do not trust Rick Perry at this point. I have too many questions. Call me skeptical. Of course, in the end, I'll vote for a nominee who is stumbling off his bar stool over Obama, as long as he is not a fellow traveler like Obama. :ehh: Rob

60% of the job growth was not minimum wage jobs. Can you tell me what the correct percentage should be?
Unless of course you want to increase Medicaid spending.
So minimum wage jobs should be sacrificed so that the “educated” strata can have jobs. After all the poor are used to being poor.🤷

He’s talking about potential rioting and looting.
And the subject was campaign tactics, so the remark was out of place. Its a re-play of earlier uncharitable and inaccurate comments by some of our conservative brethren. Some would use an even uglier name for that type of comment.

Research Addonizio.

I think he’s talking about people asking hard questions of Obama.

Perry is the shiny new toy for the GOP to oggle at. He will loose some of his luster as his life and politics are dug through.
His politics, yes. I’ll be very surprised if any personal dirt shows up. (unfortunately, I’ve been surprised before, but still . . .)

They can make up personal dirt. Tina Fey had many thinking Sarah Palin said she could see Alaska from her front porch.

Sure it plays to his base for a caucus/primary. But Perry shows a real lack of understanding of the Fed to suggest Bernanke would be committing treason in Perry’s opinion and that Bernanke would be playing politics. Treason? Seriously?

And does Perry not know it was a Republican, his predecessor in TX in fact, George W Bush, who later appointed Bernanke?

If this kind of talk and such shooting from his mouth is Perry’s tendency, playing to a limited base I’m not sure will be enough in a general. Welcome to the big leagues Mr Perry. Just as Dorothy was not in Kansas anymore, neither are you going to be in TX should your base nominate you.

That wasn’t “dirt,” just an effort to make Palin seem dumb. “Dirt” would have been stories about extramarital affairs, etc.

You fear what exactly? We’re discussing an election campaign here. How do things get ugly after a campaign is done?
Well, I lived in Chicago during the 60’s. (As you may have too.) Couple that with what’s happening in London and a certain fear can be justified, no?

Just so you know, I have nothing personal against Obama and do hope he succeeds but just trying to be realistic here.

That’s not what he said.

Nah, he doesn’t know anything. 😉

I’m guessing he doesn’t use a teleprompter.

For a truly sound economic sustainable rebound, better than an almost a 50-50 split which I consider 60-40 not to be all that far off from.

He wasn’t giving a civics lesson. He was expressing outrage. Watch, he will benefit from this.
And does Perry not know it was a Republican, his predecessor in TX in fact, George W Bush, who later appointed Bernanke?
Perry is no fan of Bush (and visa versa) but it really doesn’t matter who originally appointed the guy. Perry was showing outrage of what the guy has and might again do.

The last thing in the world Perry wants right now is to be considered a close friend of Bush, Karl Rove, or the Bush economics team which included Bernanke.
If this kind of talk and such shooting from his mouth is Perry’s tendency, playing to a limited base I’m not sure will be enough in a general.
I am no expert on Perry but from what I have been reading, we can expect more of the same.
Welcome to the big leagues Mr Perry. Just as Dorothy was not in Kansas anymore, neither are you going to be in TX should your base nominate you.
That is Romney’s strategy and now he is known as a waffler.

We will see who the Republican electorate picks.

That’s not what he said.
Nah, he doesn’t know anything. 😉
I’m guessing he doesn’t use a teleprompter.
Rick Perry told a Republican rally in Iowa yesterday. “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don’t know what y’all would do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas,” Perry said. “Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous—**or treasonous in my opinion,” added the candidate. **

That’s completely arbitrary. You have to know the demographics of the population. If there are a lot of nonEnglish speaking immigrants who come from very poor countries, wouldn’t it stand to reason that more minimum wage jobs actually benefited the state?

Anyway, we’re wandering from the OP.

I read the article. Almost treacherous or treasonous. Almost applies to both treacherous and treasonous.
