Wow. Your uncharitable, mudslinging link…just made me think…more of Rick Perry.
The facts are there, but you prefer to object to the packaging.
If you’re perverse enough to vote Perry because your fine aesthetic sensibilities have been wounded, then perhaps you deserve Perry (or Obama) for president.
Perry’s a politician, perhaps a bit more meretricious than others, who has re-imaged himself quite extensively when he saw which way the wind was blowing. That can no longer be in dispute.

Isn’t it at all interesting or relevant to you that practically the only “A” Perry got at A&M was in war? Or is that just “mudslinging” that good conservative Catholics shouldn’t care about?

What grades did Obama get in University? Oh that’s right, he won’t release it.

Please go back and review the rules of the forum. You have just broken several. We are glad to have you here, but please adhere to the rules. Insulting other posters doesn’t cut it.

All those issues have already been addressed by Perry and on these forums.

Perry admitted he was wrong on the gardasil. Even I fell for that one with my daughter.
  • What’s the problem with being a male cheerleader?
  • So he switched parties. Lots of posters here like Ridgerunner admit to changing parties. The Democratic Party left them.
  • Do you have evidence the switch was “opportunistic” rather than genuine?
  • We all pray in public when we go to mass. This is a red herring.
He is a thrice elected REPUBLICAN governor of Texas.

Instead of attacking the man, address which of his policies you dislike.

Michael Savage likes him, so I am going to have to take a closer look.

Why is this person permitted to poison the well on this thread? I insulted no one. I stand by my comment, and if my comment is against as many rules as you say, then remove the comment rather than insinuate (once again) that the points raised are without merit because it’s not all hearts and flowers.
This is serious stuff here. If it scandalizes some people, I am genuinely sorry to inflict it on you. However, perhaps we should acquaint ourselves with the way St Paul and the Fathers argued before we throw moralizing accusations around.

But Christine, my friend, do we ignore his departure from core conservative priniciples and globalist tendencies because he has an R beside his name? (see my previous post.)

Which way? Positive or negative? 😃
Haha…good point, Rich. I stopped being a regular listener years ago, when he kept saying “have more white babies” during his “borders, language, culture” rants. Every once in a while, I tune in because he’s the only thing interesting on the radio. As always, sometimes entertaining, sometimes I agree with him, then I get irritated and change the channel. There’s always classical music…

That said, I do find Perry interesting. I’m still checking him out, but I like what I’ve heard from him so far. He speaks very well and has a good track record as governor. The “dumb” charge seems unfounded from the interviews I’ve seen/heard, but the debates will be key for me. I want to see how he does under fire.

Ya, well America elected a “brilliant” President last time around. Maybe we should try “dumb” for a change.

I get a newsletter from Texas Representative Wayne Christian who has just come out in
support of Rick Perry. His comments are worth reading and I would like to know if it is
permissable to link them here? If so how?

Exactly…sort of. 😃 I don’t want someone “dumb,” but I could care less about grades and don’t need someone brilliant. We need an intelligent person with excellent leadership ability. I haven’t seen anything to lead me to believe that Perry isn’t intelligent. College GPAs mean something, but they are not an indication of intelligence. He speaks well, and he has decent accomplishments. Let’s see how he does when debating the issues.

That is a good question. You may need to PM Robert Bay. Regardless, I know I would like to read it. Can you PM it to me?

I certainly don’t want “dumb”! I would like a little common sense, a respect for life, and a clue or two about economics.

Don’t ask for much, do I? 😉

I was trying to make a clever reference to what most people in high society consider dumb, apparently I fail. 😦

Most of “high society” looks down their noses at people who don’t have upper echelon education and are part of the “in” crowd, but most people base their life decisions on common sense and what is in the best interests of their neighbors. That is what I want as President. WE have had too many academics leading this country who are whiz-bangs when it comes to theoretical leadership, but have zero practical, “boots on the ground” experience when it comes to running things. That type of pragmatic leadership is sorely lacking in this administration. It is evident in the fact that he assembles a “commission” every time there is a call for action. He doesn’t know how to make difficult decisions. There are alot of things about Bush I disliked, but at least he ran a state as governor and he ran several private companies. He knows how to make decisions and take action. That was very evident in his Administration. Some of his decisions were boneheaded, but at least he got action taken and then adjusted course as necessary. This current President suffers from decision constipation. He spends so much time analyzing all of the options through the colored glasses of his ideology that his decisions are usually late and ineffective, and quite often offensive to at least half of the population.

Spot on analysis of Obama and Bush!
