Well, just like all the rest of Humanity, you will find some that are compassionate & others who aren’t.
Sorry, it wasn’t my intention to turn this into a mini-debate! I was trying to say that even tho I have lots (LOTS) of questions, I can say that I returned because the CC does not “change with the times.” I went to a non-denomination church for awhile -until X decided it no longer made him “feel good”. I don’t agree with alot of the things I’ve learned BUT I know that it’s OK to question it & get solid answers. Don’t know bout you, but I didn’t dare question it as a kid.
I am not saying you made it a debate. Just that the thread became one. I understand a lot of people saying don’t go with the feeling but an understanding. Whatever happened to follow your instincts? (Not the urges) I am 28. So I wasn’t in the generation of “Children are seen, but not heard”. My mother was always getting a call at work from the nuns when I was in first grade. "she is confusing the others. She didn’t like the answer because God said so. She drew a naked pic of a man and woman with chalk in front of the school and that is not acceptable(this one was a biggie)… "

Yeah, I hated the "because God said so " answer, too! So now at my age I’m getting answers.

And I gotta be honest-some of those churches we visited, my “gut” said NO. Esp when it came to putting my kids in Sunday School. I had 2 boys with developmental/learning problems & there was no question that it was MY fault somehow. So church of any sort went on the back burner fgor awhile.

Carjack, let me just say this, go with God and know that some of the things that you posted are incorrectly understood by you and that if you would look into each one individually that you would come to know and understand the truth that could be found. I will keep you in my prayers and please consider that sometimes, even Catholic forumns are filled with some people that don’t always understand their faith completely and some people just aren’t even Catholic. Consider sites like the home page of this site where you will get the correct info always and even though there are some really good and faithful Catholics on here, you apparently haven’t talked to just them obviously.Plus, consider sites like EWTN where you will get the truth and the Vatican web site, also, at your local Catholic Parishes R.C.I.A. (if it is a good one.) After reading some things on here, even I question that now.) God bless you.

I understand because I stopped going(not because of kids, don’t have any, a bit afraid) I have been fighting turmoil within. The religion question had me depressed. Be a Catholic, be a non-Catholic,. I prayed about it and felt peace when I got the answer not to go the Catholic route(at least for now). I stopped going to any church. I am at a stale mate.

Carjack1 — I see the great difficulty you are having. Your replies where you state "…your opinion’, “in your view” , and “I’m glad you feel strongly about that”, are not my opinions, nor my view, nor have anything to do about how I feel, but the teachings of the Church. (and I’m not speaking for myself here but also for other Catholics who have replied to you and you have answered with the same rhetoric) Those teachings have been around for 2000 years and were around even before we had the Bible and before you and those thousands of other denominations that do their own thing were around; especially concerning the Eucharist. You apparently are laking a lot of biblical knowledge (I know you are going to reply - Your opinion)and historical knowledge of the Church and its teachings. You have stated that in many of your posts. But guess what? All of those are YOUR OPINIONS my friend.Believe me, I know why many people leave the CC. Some of my family members left for the exact reasons I stated and I’m working with a young man who wants to leave for the exact same reasons.
.These things are clearly stated in the New Testament and therefore the point is moot.
So are many things that have been told to you that you refuse to believe so actually those are not moot points but you want to make them moot.
You reply concerning Birth control “they wisened up on this. Thank God” is truly say indeed. That’s what many people have been saying since the Reformation so now there are thousands of denominations that “wisened up on this and other teachings” and each claiming the HS guiding them. If that is true that the HS must be schitzophrenic because its telling everybody different things.

It is not sad that the Church has not changed its teachings in 2000 years. What is sad is people giving in to the world which Jesus warns us about and change their teachings like changing socks. That is truly sad. ( No, its not my opinion, its a fact)
I prayed and He has let me know that the CC is not right for me and that HIS teaching aren’t there,
You are wrong my friend, (and its not my opinion). HIS teachings are there. That you chose (of your own free will)not to believe them because they are an inconvenience, or go against your desires is another thing.

If you do not believe that the Catholic Church is the church instituted by Jesus, then tell us which church is it and back it up with historical and biblical proof. I dont believe what I want. I believe that God is telling and teaching me through His church. Your problem is you want to believe whatever you want and want to interpret scripture to fit you wants and desires.
I know many posters here and in other forums who believe in the trinity of “me, myself, and I”

The things you claim are not a sin are strictly YOUR opinion. Regarding ABC, look up the sin of Onan and then tell God it’s His opinion. Here is something to prove ABC is a sin. We know that the many of the Early Fathers were taught by the Apostles, and the Apostles were taught by Jesus himself. These ECF, or disciples of the Apostles then passed on those same teachings to their disciples and so on. Here is just one example: Clement of Alexandria
Because of its divine institution for the propagation of man, the seed is not to be vainly ejaculated, nor is it to be damaged, nor is it to be wasted (The Instructor of Children 2:10:91:2 A.D. 191]).
So you see, its not MY opinion and the denominations that approved ABC did not wise up but actually went against the teachings of the Master Himself.

True carjack1, you dont have to believe what I believe. Nobody here is forcing you. You have a free will and God will never take that away from you. But we will in the end be judged by what we have freely chosen to do.

Oh, and before you continue replying “in your opinion” (which is an easy cop-out) back your opinions with biblical and historical evidence.

Forgive me if my post seems rude at times. I dont mean to be but I am truly praying for you and wish you well in your search. I see that you are really searching and want to find the Truth. Sometimes the Truth is right under out noses. I know many in this forum and others have gone the same route as you have and suddenly realize they had the Truth in the CC all along.

God Bless and take care…

I like Father Corapi and I think Mother Angelica is cute. She has a unique way of explaining things where you will get the truth and the Vatican web site, also, at your local Catholic Parishes R.C.I.A. (if it is a good one.)How would I know if it is a good one? So if I took a class I could be well informed on the views How would I know if it is a good one? After reading some things on here, even I question that now.) What are you questioning?God bless you.
You as well.

You are wrong my friend, (and its not my opinion)Sorry you feel that way. HIS teachings are there. Not according to the HS That you chose (of your own free will)not to believe them because they are an inconvenience, or go against your desires is another thing. I do not believe them and it has nothing to do with desires or inconvenience, please do not make assumptions about me

If you do not believe that the Catholic Church is the church instituted by Jesus, then tell us which church is it and back it up with historical and biblical proof.I am not a scholar, never claimed to be:D I dont believe what I want. I believe that God is telling and teaching me through His church.Yeah, the stuff that is fed to you Your problem is you want to believe whatever you want and want to interpret scripture to fit you wants and desires. Not true, but thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut, because now you are insulting me. And trying to force feed the Catholic religion.
I know many posters here and in other forums who believe in the trinity of “me, myself, and I”

The things you claim are not a sin are strictly YOUR opinion. Regarding ABC, look up the sin of Onan and then tell God it’s His opinion.I read that in the bible. Don’t confuse what God is saying to what you are being fed. If you want to say aaaaah and open wide, that is your perogative Here is something to prove ABC is a sin.Not if it is medicinal. That was the Old Testament and I am sure brother in laws having those relations with their sister in laws are frowned upon now. Notice the New Testament doesn’t have the same story. We know that the many of the Early Fathers were taught by the Apostles, and the Apostles were taught by Jesus himself. These ECF, or disciples of the Apostles then passed on those same teachings to their disciples and so on.So the CC claims Here is just one example: Clement of Alexandria One of the CCs saints? That is a very unbaised source:rolleyes: So you see, its not MY opinion and the denominations that approved ABC did not wise up but actually went against the teachings of the Master Himself. That is what you believe

True carjack1, you dont have to believe what I believe. Nobody here is forcing you. You have a free will and God will never take that away from you. But we will in the end be judged by what we have freely chosen to do.Glad the CC taught you something correctly

Oh, and before you continue replying “in your opinion” (which is an easy cop-out)Sorry I am not agreeing with you. But I do not need a cop-out to what I truly believe. Is arrogance a Catholic trait? back your opinions with biblical and historical evidence.
I am not a scholar and really don’t need to provide you with anything because this thread wasn’t meant as a debate
😃

So how long before I become a good and faithful Catholuic??

So how long before I become a good and faithful Catholuic??
I can’t answer that for you, because God only knows what is in your heart. The post was trying to say that I am talking to some ill-informed Catholics because I decided not to become one.

Don’t you know?
I liked to know what the other poster know, but I could answer you your question regarding the other poster’s comment. Catholic faith teaches you what Jesus wanted you to do. You decided to stay home and don’t go to church, you are not doing what Jesus teaches you.

I know this 🙂 . When one suffers from depression and is being force fed, it makes one really consider that visit. Thank you for bringing this up. So to rectify the situation I will attend a non-denomination services that brought such joy when I was worshipping Him.

Just from the little I have read from what you wrote on here, you sound like one already to me.
Did you know that you could talk to your Pastor about your celiac disease and that in your case he would probably let you receive the Precious Blood only?

Carjack, you can write your response in the same quote instead of inserting into other posters’ reponses. It can be confusing sometimes. 😃

Yes, please go to a non-denomination service at least on Sunday, and I hope some day you will be joining a mass at your local Catholic church. 😉
