You can see from my last post about a month ago that DH and I have been struggling w/ issues of purity in our marriage. I believe his answer was honest last night when I asked him: “it’s been a month since we had our big talk, how have you been doing” and he answered that he has had no setbacks.

I bought Dr.Laura’s book on The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. Haven’t finished it yet, but I’ve been more affectionate to DH, lavishing him w/ foot and backrubs (even when I was tired or upset and didn’t fee like it) and in turn he has been more affectionate and devoted to our family. Before, I couldn’t get him up before noon, the last 2 weeks, he’s gone in to work before 7 (sometimes as early as 5) and worked 50/hrs a week. AND he still comes home and helps out w/ the kids!!!

Praise be to God!!! The kicker is, last night I opened up our mini-talk about his progress by asking if he’d thought anymore about going to see Father, to which he said no. Later on he said he thought about going to mass w/ us this Saturday. He hasn’t been in a year, so this is HUGE!!! Please God, sustain him in his good efforts and help him to answer your call to come home to the Church and renew his faith in the fullness of the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.

Thanks to all of you who have and continue to pray for us. I know we’re not out of the woods w/ this yet, but may God preserve us in times of prosperity and sustain us in times of struggle.
 
Thank You Father for the blessings You are giving this family. Thank You for the couple’s efforts to make their life conform to the Christian image of marriage. In Jesus’ name, I ask Your continnuing grace for them.

Well, DH did not make it to mass or reconciliation this past weekend, but please continue to intercede w/ me to Sts. Rita and Monica that the Lord will hasten the day that DH answers His call to return to the sacraments (hopefully this Wednesday). Still have great hope despite this setback and another minor setback this a.m. Thanks for all the prayers.

More thanksgiving . . .DH has finally gone to the dr. He has had countless staph infections (thankfully none as serious as the first) but the Good Lord finally got him where it counts. Sorry for that, but I’ve had a couple myself and they’re painful. Finally going to see about getting a chronic skin condition of his treated that is possibly creating a breeding ground for the staph. He thinks DHs sore spot may be a hernia, but hopefully DH will not need to have surgery.

In previous posts I have mentioned that DH is often ill w/ headaches and belly aches and sleeps late which has had his days and night mixed up for months now. Thanks be to God that in the last few weeks, since he is eating at a more regular hour and getting to bed earlier (and now that DS is sleeping for longer stretches at night) getting better rest and getting off to work at a respectable time each day. Needless to say, the headaches and belly aches and what I suspected to be blood sugar problems have subsided with the change in his schedule. Not to mention that we’re getting along better and he’s taking vitamins and st. john’s wort (I suspect depression played a big part as well).

THANKS BE TO GOD!!! Thank you for all your past and continued prayers and support. May God sustain us in our good efforts and let us not despair in times of setbacks and struggle.
