I ask myself the same question… but like always, they come back to you with some quotes from the Bible where it “says” to stop talking to them…I see JWs as cultists hell-bent on rules and loyalty to an organization that tries so hard to project itself as loving everyone and tolerant of everyone yet disfellows people for the stupidest things and treats their own family members like **** once they’re disfellowed.
In sorry, but where’s the Christianly behavior to that?!?!Christ never did any of that.
Is this what you looking for JaypeetoI’m in the office and don’t have a copy of the Bible here,
but where it “says” in the Bible not to talk to a person,
it is referring to a preacher who is going around preaching
heresy (which is what they are doing). It’s in one of Saint Paul’s letters, and he says not to even say God Speed You to such a person because that would be sharing in his wicked works (of spreading falsehoods).
It doesn’t refer to their cruel practice of shunning a repentant disfellowshipped person for a year or more.
They are nuts.

or possibly thisIs this what you looking for Jaypeeto
“Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.” (1 Corinthians 5:11-13)
That’s from their website.
I think the quote about Godspeed is in second or third John.Howdie,
no, those aren’t the posts I was referring to but they are significant. JWs disfellowship and shun people who have gone to the elders, confessed, and are trying to repent.
People trying to repent usually fall a few more times before they get it right. The JWs don’t take into account peoples’ weaknesses and emotional illnesses (such as depression, etc., which can weaken a person’s resolve).
They don’t merely do it do defiant, brazen, wicked people.
They should be ashamed of themselves.

what you describe here is exactly what I was talking about… I cannot recall the book, chapter, nor verse those are in.Howdie,
