The 15 Prayers of Saint Bridget - Has anyone practiced this?

I am thinking about starting this devotion. I found an app on Google Play. Has anyone practiced this devotion? I and others I am sure would love to hear your thoughts and experiences you may have had.

There’s a famous little prayer book featuring these prayers. They used to be wildly popular. My mother prayed them unceasingly. Of late, the “promises” attached to them have been subject to a lot of scrutiny.
As prayers go, I don’t think many prayers are bad.
 
I have to wonder if, given my two jobs, I could do this devotion along with the rosary and other prayers. My hope is that it would be particularly transforming. Might be helpful in my own battle of purity.

I’m currently doing both the St. Bridget 12-year prayers (I started back in November) and the St. Bridget 1-year prayers (the “15 O’s”, I started Jan 1).

The 12-year prayers aren’t too bad. After about 8 weeks of saying them I had them memorized, so now I can say them in the car, etc.

The 1-year prayers are a challenge. They are very long - they take about a half hour (by contrast, the 12-year prayers take about 10 minutes). I have had several days of missing them and having to make them up the next day by saying them twice. I don’t think I will be able to memorize them so it’s a matter of finding a half hour each day to sit down and read the prayers on top of other prayers and things I am doing. I hope I make it through the year and that the Lord doesn’t get mad if I have to double up some days because some days they get missed. Still, it’s only for 1 year so I am hoping I can persevere and git 'er done.

The little prayer book is called The Pieta Prayer Book which you can get at any religious store. It contains the 15 prayers plus other beautiful prayers and devotions God Bless::🦋🦋.
 
You can also find the prayers all over the Internet. Prayer books are nice but if I had to keep track of one more prayer book then the prayers would not be getting said every day or even every other day.

I use the MaryPages site here for now until I get used to saying the prayers, then I might branch out to some videos. It takes approximately 1/2 hour to read through the entire 15 prayers.

I tried praying the 12 Year ones before, but didn’t get to continue. I’ve prayed the 15 prayers, but yet it was hard to pray them due to the length.
 
Were you able to keep up the 15 prayers for the full year?
The only thing keeping me going there is that it’s only a year.
I think if I had to pray something that long for 12 years I would have given up. If it’s just one year then I think I can do it even if some days I have to double up (but I better not miss more than one day due to the length).

In praying the 15 St. Bridget prayers, we are meditating on the suffering and death of Jesus. Jesus also told St. Faustina Kowalska that there is more merit in one hour of meditation on His Passion than in a whole year of flagellation which draws blood.

Just a reminder, the prayers began to circulate with various promises of indulgence and other assurances of supernatural graces supposed to attend from their regular recitation over the course of a year. In 1954, the Acta Apostolicae Sedis found the alleged promises (though not the prayers themselves) unreliable, and directed local ordinaries not to permit the circulation of pamphlets containing the promises.

Thanks for posting it,I have tried for years to complete it in a year.often missed few days ,but i would compensated by saying the prayers which i missed. it so happened that, i missed some 15 to 20 days ,i just got discouraged and gave it up,seeing you posted it, i feel like again trying by relying on Jesus to say it again. Its in the The Pieta Prayer Book God Bless

You’ll pretty much by heart the prayers,and it take 15 to 20 minutes to say them,the best time would be after Mass if your able to attend one close to your house,or else before or after the family prayers would be ideal,but postponing them at night,you may forget,keep an alarm on your mobile just in case,but please don’t get discouraged or give up in a few days ,say it twice if you miss anytime,Jesus is merciful he understands your busy schedule do it with love, devotion and perseverance .All the best!

I’ve said them at various times in my life. They’re nice prayers, and I like them.

In general, I don’t do promise prayers because of expectation of any particular promises or not. If it happens, that’s awesome---- but I don’t count on my being able to properly/wholeheartedly perform Task X in order to obtain Grace Y.

There was the story of the saint— and the Search function isn’t helping me find the specifics— who was overlooking a crowded plaza. They had all come together for whatever great Feast it was, because it was promised that if you do X, you earn grace Y. And God made it known to whatever great Saint it was that even though the plaza was filled with thousands of people, there were only, like, two people in the crowd besides himself who had successfully accomplished X and were therefore worthy of having earned Y.

So-- I try to do whatever set of prayers I want, but in the back of my head, I know that it would take someone much better than myself to do them “properly”.

I did, but there were days that I forgot or skipped, so I had to make it up.

For the 12 Year Prayers, I was thinking of getting back to it. The daily prayers are not long, but yes, 12 years seem like a long time to maintain.

I always think this too, but MariaChristi reminded me a while ago that when a child brings its mother a crayon drawing that isn’t very good by art standards and has stick figures and coloring outside the lines, the mother is still happy to receive it and tells her child how nice it is and puts it up on the bulletin board or on the refrigerator door, and so the Blessed Mother receives our lame attempts at prayer when we try but we fall asleep during the Rosary or something dumb like that.

It made me feel a little better anyway.
