Corpus Christi processions are becoming more popular. Hopefully, everyone will consider looking for one around their area, and go.

It’s not about what we get from it. It’s about what we give - time to God, adoring Jesus in the Eucharist.

I have made a promotional video for the Corpus Christi procession at Assumption Grotto in Detroit, which can be found in my blogpost (below). If you are a blogger, please feel free to embed the video (hit the “share” button for code) and to link to my original blogpost with details.

So, where are all of the processions? Tell us about the one you are going to, or the ones of which you are aware so people can go. I know EWTN will be televising this Sunday - so watch if you absolutely can’t particpate physically.

Don’t hesitate to petition your diocese for future Eucharistic processions.

Let’s post pics and links to photo posts when it passes, as well.

My parish in Seattle, WA is doing one, but only on the church grounds(pretty much around the parking lot, the school field, etc). We can’t go around in the streets, too much chance of things being thrown at the Sacred Host, etc.

I’m gonna be one of the severs in the procession, i think = )

Ditto with ours being held on Church grounds. We have quite a bit of nice property for it and several of the altars, usually three, are in the parish cemetary, which is like park.

I think many parishes stick to church grounds because of the difficulty or complexity of getting permjits for processions in the public domain. I know of one parish that tried and had a hard time. However, they do have enough property to do it on site. I think in time they will.

The Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph and the Archdiocese of Kansas City Kansas have rented Kaufmann Stadium (where the Kansas City Royals play) for Eucharistic Adoration, praying of the Rosary, and a procession. This sort of thing doesn’t happen every day. I encourage all in the Kansas City area to attend!
 
no procession here, but an adoration vigil from end of Saturday evening Mass to midnight. we had at least 20 participants, usually more, for every hour of the vigil of Pentecost, hope to do better this time.
 
We’re doing a little one, just around the parking lot of our parish. Our Youth Group is responsible for putting together one of the Altars. As a convert, this is a “first” experience, for me - should be fun! 🙂

Ahhh, the diocese of one of my favorite bishops - Bishop Finn! Great man and the fruit of his work is visible. I hope he is sent to Detroit. Your loss would be our gain.

You can’t steal my thunder - it belongs to God. He is always the main focus.

I was just going to go look for that video to post it here. That’s an awesome one.

The one I made is merely a teaser to get people locally to come to Grotto. It took me about 5 hours worth of time (mainly because Studio is slower than water running up hill). I do have plans for a more elaborate video, but I don’t know if anyone will top God in the Streets of New York! That is powerful.

No amount of people is too small for Our Lord. Just think of all the indifference going on around the world, and even in some parishes because people have not been taught properly, how to adore Jesus in the Eucharist. This Sunday, we have an opportunity to give our entire beings to Him, regardless of how modest or large.

Ours is typically a few hundred - small by comparison to what a diocesan procession would get. That is why I’m glad to see Kansas City-St. Joseph doing it. I think it is far better for an entire diocese to have a big procession.

Keep them coming. Make all of the Corpus Christi processions visible so people can go this weekend!!! Then come back here and post pics when they are over, or links to pics.
 
hi! just wanna share the Copus Christi processions in southern Spain (andalucian region).

To start with, the Corpus Christi processions in Seville and the neighbouring towns are very festive and colorful. The day starts with masses in the parishes and a big mass (Misa Mayor) will be held in the cathedral. At the middle of the day, a procession of the blessed sacrament will be held in the major streets of the city. They put up little altars called “Estacion” in the streets. They put the monstrance in the Estacion and recites some prayers to the Most Holy Sacrament.

We are combining with a parish several blocks away and the procession will start at our oratory and go there. The distance is about 7 blocks and much to long for me to walk, so I will miss it. While the thought is nice, it will be going through a busy street and like I said…much to far for me. It should be beautiful though.
 
Our parish is hosting the Procession for the North Deanery. I love this sort of thing…showing love and respect for the Blessed Sacrament. I really dig the humeral veil. I’ll be in the Procession this year also.

Our is going to be on the church grounds. It sure would be cool if we could take into the streets, but completely understand that it would be a logistical nightmare.

We have in on our parish grounds as well. There will be several outdoor shrines that the procession will stop at to say a host of prayers before moving on, concluding in the church building itself. Now to pray it doesn’t rain.
 
Diane - we plan to spend a good portion of Sunday at Grotto enjoying the Mass and procession. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend too!! Sooo looking forward to it!

All those going to Grotto - Ladies, consider wearing flat shoes and bring something to kneel on if you like (getting up and down from kneeling in heels is not easy for me at least!!!), the cemetery is a bit rocky in some places. Gentlemen, wear trousers you don’t mind getting a little bit of grass on!

It should be a beautiful day with Jesus!

I was hoping this thread would inform people where they can go to a Corpus Christi procesion. I know some of you don’t want to post your parish because you are keeping your location private. That is fine. However, consider posting listing parishes you know hat these things for those who can attend - be it your parish or another parish.
