I read every link that you provide. I read apologetic literature. I read the Catechism. I read the Bible.

I also read scientific sites. And not just the ones who I agree with.

Now, which scientific site said that the first multicellular life originated in the Cambrian?Once it is published and debated, if it is found to have any validity, it will become the norm. Until then, it isn’t. By the way, it will still contradict a 10,000 year old earth that Sungenis proposes.

Peace

Hello! I didn’t say that. I said there were two “times” of explosions.

If you haven’t got this yet, every evolutionary scenario will always contradict a 10,000 year old earth. It has too. Evolution is totally dependent on long ages. No time - no evolution. That makes evolution an a priori deal, don’t ya think?

Well, unless you are suggesting that “cambrians” is synonymous with “times”, you did. You wrote “There are two “cambrian explosions” not accounted for - the jump from single to multicellular organisms and the CE itself.”.

Well, we have plenty of time for evolution, so I don’t see where that is an issue. Evolution is the least of the problems for a 10,000 year old earth.

Evolution has nothing to do with the soul.
But at what point in the evolutionary process did God give us the soul?
Does God look like us?
Yes, he does, if fact he walked the earth for over 20 years.Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.
I don’t believe any of the scriptures are false. Not all are literal, though. The parables are a good example of that.
but a Parable is just that, a parable…When God said he created something in ONE day, I believe it… now, how can I misinterpret that when he says a day is: “And the evening and the morning were the second day.” in Genesis? How can a 1000 years be the evening and the morning? How is it possible to not take that literal?
Bad choice. Dinosaurs are not found in the Bible
please look up these scriptures, what would he be describing, if not a dinosaur?
Behemoth in Job 40:15-24
Leviathan in Job: 41, Psalm 104:25,26, Isaiah 27:1
Nothing in the theory calls for half man/half monkey.
goldendome.org/EvolutionOfMan/
They start with a monkey and the through several changes the being will eventually turninto a man, in between the monkey and what we call a man are several forms of half monkey/half man. (call it what you will) where are those species today?
Regarding the Literal translation of Genesis
I don’t know how you cannot take it literal, it specifically say that each day is morning and night;
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form and empty. And darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light. And there was light.
Gen 1:4 And God saw the light that it was good. And God divided between the light and the darkness.
Gen 1:5 And God called the light, Day. And He called the darkness, Night.** And the evening and the morning were the first day. **
Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7 And God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.
Gen 1:8 And God called the expanse, Heavens. **And the evening and the morning were the second day. **
Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land, Earth. And He called the gathering together of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth tender sprouts (the herb seeding seed and the fruit tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself) upon the earth; and it was so.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth tender sprouts, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed was in itself. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13 ** And the evening and the morning were the third day. **
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.
Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so.
Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:19 **And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. **
Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a living soul; and let birds fly over the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens.
Gen 1:21 And God created great sea-animals, and every living soul that creeps with
which the waters swarmed after their kind; and every winged fowl after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas and let the fowl multiply in the earth.
Gen 1:23 **And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. **
Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth after its kind; and it was so.
Gen 1:25 And God made the beasts of the earth after its kind, and cattle after their kind, and all creepers upon the earth after their kind. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.
Gen 1:27 And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold! I have given you every herb seeding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree seeding seed; to you it shall be for food.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to every creeper on the earth which has in it a living soul every green plant is for food; and it was so.
Gen 1:31 And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

But at what point in the evolutionary process did God give us the soul?
I don’t know.
Yes, he does, if fact he walked the earth for over 20 years.Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.
Really? Does He look like you or me? Is He tall or short? Fat or skinny? Black or white? Handicapped or not? Old or young?

You are welcome to take Genesis as literal as you want. I don’t and I the Church does not require me to do so.

Funny how those were not considered dinosaurs until someone got scared by the scientific evidence that dinosaurs actually existed.

I don’t know what they were. There are other ideas that have been put forth, but I know they were not dinosaurs.
You didn’t really just give me a transcendental meditation site as a scientific reference to support your mistaken idea that evolution says that humans evolved from monkeys, did you?

If you find a scientific site that claims that humans evolved from monkeys, I’ll address it. I won’t argue with a site that proudly prolaims to be "America’s Peace Keeping Force with* the largest group of Yogic Flyers, located near the center of the US population, Fairfield Iowa "*

orogeny is correct about reading the Bible literally. We read the Bible in light of the original author’s intent and the constant understanding of the Church.

He looked like a man more than a cave man, that is for sure.
If you don’t take Genisis literal, then how do you take any of the Bible literal? what criteria in scriptures do you take as literal and which do you not take as literal?
don’t know what they were. There are other ideas that have been put forth, but I know they were not dinosaurs.
Is it because they didn’t specifically call them dinasours? They were Huge animals, with tails the size of tree trunks… i don’t know of any animal today that has a tail that big.
You didn’t really just give me a transcendental meditation site as a scientific reference to support your mistaken idea that evolution says that humans evolved from monkeys, did you?
My apologies, i just wanted the picture with the monkey to man illustration (like the one you see in museums), but didn’t know how to cut and paste it.

Paleontologists have just this month found a new dinosaur which proves conclusively that the atheists view is totally wrong. But they are keeping it secret. This new dinosaur, Pleisdonsteponus, proves atheistic evolution is false.
The same scientists who have all the evidence to support flat earth theory?

HI Buffalo,
my point is this, how can you not take this as a literal day as opposed to, let’s say, a thousand years?:
Gen 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

He looked like a man more than a cave man, that is for sure.
If you don’t take Genisis literal, then how do you take any of the Bible literal? what criteria in scriptures do you take as literal and which do you not take as literal?
How come the sun wasn’t created until the third day? How can there be an evening and a morning if there is no sun?
Is it because they didn’t specifically call them dinasours? They were Huge animals, with tails the size of tree trunks… i don’t know of any animal today that has a tail that big.
Why do you assume they are dinosaurs?
My apologies, i just wanted the picture with the monkey to man illustration (like the one you see in museums), but didn’t know how to cut and paste it.
Find a scientific source. I will not argue with the type of site you used.

It is far from sure, since we have no contemporary pictures of Jesus and no accurate contemporary pictures of cave men (Cro-Magnons). It is likely that there were no visible differences, given that both Cro-Magnons and Jesus were members of the species Homo sapiens.
If you don’t take Genisis literal, then how do you take any of the Bible literal?
Then you have a problem, Jesus did not come to save your species, but a different species entirely: Ovis aries. See Matthew 15:24 “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel”. Do you take that part of the Bible literally?
They were Huge animals, with tails the size of tree trunks… i don’t know of any animal today that has a tail that big.
As buffalo said, you have to bear in mind what was probably in the mind of the writers. IIRC the Hebrew word for “tail” can also be translated “penis”. Do not rely too much on a translation, which cannot always give the full meaning of the original text. Knowing that the translation of “red herring” is “pink fish” does not help you get at the real meaning of what the author intended. You are reliant on the translator’s knowledge of contemporary idioms, which might not be perfect.
My apologies, i just wanted the picture with the monkey to man illustration (like the one you see in museums), but didn’t know how to cut and paste it.
I do not think that there is a way to post images directly here, just post a link to the image:

Ovis aries

which will come out looking like: Ovis aries.

You should also correct your terms. Have a look at the picture you linked to, observe that the first animal in the picture does not have a tail. Monkeys have tails, apes do not. Your picture shows Ape to Man, not Monkey to Man. Man evolved from apes; scientists can get very picky about such details.

Genisis 1:3-5 God created night and day as his 1st creation, Genesis 1:16 is another topic in itself.

i assume they are dinosaurs because of their description and the similarities in the descriptions of what we call a dinosaur today, why do you assume they are not a dinasour?

Genisis 1:3-5 God created night and day as his 1st creation, Genesis 1:16 is another topic in itself.
A literal 24 hour day? You do know, don’t you, that the 24 hour day is based on the time it takes the earth to make one revolution and for the sun to rise, set and rise again? How can that be if there is no sun.

By the way, do you also believe that the earth is the center of the universe and the sun and all the rest of the universe orbit the earth?
i assume they are dinosaurs because of their description and the similarities in the descriptions of what we call a dinosaur today, why do you assume they are not a dinasour?
So, you don’t have any other reason than that? Because it was described as having a big tail?

They are not dinosaurs because dinosaurs had been extinct for about 65 million years at the time.

Peace

Tim

“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”

I wonder what sort of lighting system God used to distinguish day from night for the three days before the sun and moon were created.
