All it boils down to is the standard of evidence we reqiure is greater than what you require. The existence of god has never been proven.

? That is a fact. I’m sorry that upsets you but I require a higher standard of evidence, and at the standard i require there is not a single shread of evidence for the existence of your or any other gods.

Do you believe that other minds exist? Well…the thing is…science hasn’t proven that other minds or even that objective reality exists. The scientific method presupposes a valid form of interpretation that can’t be proven by the scientific method. So this must mean that you are deluding yourself!!! You’re walking around talking to people you don’t even know exist.You’re interacting and talking to objects because of the unproven belief that they have minds just like you; and you maintain this belief just because their actions appear ordered toward purposeful and meaningful ends, and on this basis you make the inference to the objective existence of a mind and a will as being responsible for the purpose and meaning being displayed in the object. How weird, that sounds just like intelligent design theory!!!

I think i can rest my case here.

The fact that you regard physical manifestation as evidence of a person’s existence implies that physical reality is the fundamental reality. How do you justify that assumption?
I genuinely can’t see any other reason why someone might believe in God without evidence.

What standard of proof do you require to prove there is no God? I’ve never heard of such a proof or anyone who ever offered one.

What case?

To quote thunderf00t, i assume the universe exists and that we can learn something about it. Why? Because to the positve effects this has on society. Cars, planes, PCs, TVs, Hospitals, Phones, Radio, i could go on and on.

The method we use to futher the knowledge of mankind has never uncovered ANYTHING to suggest there is a god of any kind.

I think i can rest my case here.

Would it be possible for you to give us an example of something that is true for you due to your higher standard? Saying it and seeing it are two different things. Who knows; you may be right. 🙂

Well, belief in God gives me a positive reason to live, a meaning and a purpose. It makes my life feel as if it worth something. I would say thats results based as well. And i have logical proofs to back me up. You know, the kind that you seem incapable of understanding.

Lets have a look at the arguments for Naturalism, which rational atheism presupposes.

In principle, there are only two possibilities. Either there is an infinite past, or, all truth logic and being popped out of absolute nothing some time in the past. Both of these ideas have been refuted. They are illogical, they are irrational, and they represent the worst kind of magic one can imagine. So please don’t come around here claiming that people are delusional. You are only going to embarrass yourself.
