Insulting and ridiculing our love for Jesus. You think we’re going to listen to you now?
You wouldn’t listen before. Why should I think you’re going to start now.

And, since you brought it up, after all of your insults and attacks and name calling, do you really think I’d listen to you?
A heart filled with Jesus’ love wouldn’t have room for this kind of material.
But, evidently, you think it would have plenty of room for your attacks on me.

…but calling Christ a cracker or a coaster is highly offensive.
You know, it certainly is, but the more I thought about it, the more I just felt sad for him. All I can think of is the hecklers who taunted Jesus as he bled on the cross for our sins, calling Him names and making ‘clever’ jokes at his expense. They undoubtedly thought they were funny, too.

CAN ANYONE HERE EXPLAIN WHY JESUS WOULD SAY TO EAT HIS FLESH AND DRINK HIS BLOOD IF HE DIDN"T MEAN IT???
No. That’s actually one of the reasons I became Catholic - I couldn’t figure out what Jesus could have meant, if He was not speaking literally. 🙂

The difference, of course, is that I’m not heckling Christ. I’m pointing out the utter stupidity of calling a cracker Christ.

If it’s “one single sacrifice”, then why are you doing it every week?
The Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated more than weekly, even more than daily. It is said that it is celebrated continuously somewhere all over the world.

This fulfills the prophecy in Malachi, Chapter 1, verse 11:
“For from the rising of the sun, even to its setting, my name is great among the nations; And everywhere they bring sacrifice to my name, and a pure offering.”

It is the name of Jesus that is great among the nations. And it is the Sacrifice of the Mass that is the way the nations bring the one pure offering of the once for all Sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

No. All I can do is to tell you to go back through my posts and see for yourself that I didn’t say that.
Ignatius of Antioch

*“Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes” (Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:2–7:1 [A.D. 110]). *
okay, i got an early christian that supports our belief. name ONE that supports yours before 110 AD.

In John 6:53-54
Jesus says:

53Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

What else could he POSSIBLY be talking about!!! NOTHING is the answer to this question.

In your ignorance, you are in fact heckling Christ, and encouraging people to reject Him in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

You probably think you’re doing a good work by making fun of our beliefs and our God, but you will find out in the Judgment Day how things really are. At that moment, I am betting you will be very glad that there is such a thing as Purgatory. 😃

Cyprian of Carthage

*“He [Paul] threatens, moreover, the stubborn and forward, and denounces them, saying, ‘Whosoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily, is guilty of the body and blood of the Lord’ [1 Cor. 11:27]. All these warnings being scorned and contemned—[lapsed Christians will often take Communion] before their sin is expiated, before confession has been made of their crime, before their conscience has been purged by sacrifice and by the hand of the priest, before the offense of an angry and threatening Lord has been appeased, [and so] violence is done to his body and blood; and they sin now against their Lord more with their hand and mouth than when they denied their Lord” (The Lapsed 15–16 [A.D. 251]). *

He said he was like a mother hen, which He is, and that He is the entrance-way to eternal life, which He is.

What’s your point? 🤷
If He was speaking literally when He said that a piece of bread represented Him, then He must have also been speaking literally when He said He is a chicken and a door.

I think we should say the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for this fellow. he is going to need that Mercy for calling Christ a cracker, and calling the followers stupid. more or less.

Someotherguy, go to this site, and read yourself.

zenit.org/article-12933?l=english

It really IS the body and blood of Christ. And Someotherguy, it is made of unleavened bread, like he used at the last supper, not a cracker. They mystery of the Eucharist itself changes even a cookie into the body of Jesus and only those of us who have faith will understand.

The difference, of course, is that I’m not heckling Christ. I’m pointing out the utter stupidity of calling a cracker Christ.
I’ll take the ‘stupidity’ of these great, brave men over your sad blasphemy any day.

Ignatius of Antioch

Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . . . . and are now ready to obey your bishop and clergy with undivided minds and to share in the one common breaking of bread – the medicine of immortality, and the sovereign remedy by which we escape death and live in Jesus Christ for evermore (Letter to the Ephesians 20 [A.D. 110]).

Justin Martyr

We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration * and is thereby living as Christ enjoined. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these, but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus (First Apology 66 [A.D. 151]).

Irenaeus

He has declared the cup, a part of creation, to be his own blood) from which he causes our blood to flow; and the bread, a part of creation, he has established as his own body, from which he gives increase unto our bodies. When, therefore, the mixed cup [wine and water] and the baked bread receive the Word of God and become the Eucharist, the body of Christ, and from these the substance of our flesh is increased and supported) how can they say that the flesh is not capable of receiving the gift of God, which is eternal life — flesh which is nourished by the body and blood of the Lord and is in fact a member of him? (Against Heresies 5:2 [A.D. 189]).

Clement of Alexandria

“Eat my flesh)” [Jesus] says, “and drink my blood.” The Lord supplies us with these intimate nutrients, he delivers over his flesh and pours out his blood, and nothing is lacking for the growth of his children (The Instructor of Children 1:6:43:3 [A.D. 191]).

Hippolytus

“And she [Wisdom] has furnished her table” [Proverbs 9:1] . . . refers to his [Christ’s] honored and undefiled body and blood, which day by day are administered and offered sacrificially at the spiritual divine table, as a memorial of that first and ever-memorable table of the spiritual divine supper * (Fragment from Commentary on Proverbs [A.D. 217]).**

No, I’m not heckling Christ.

Why does Jesus need to be resacrificed?
You probably think you’re doing a good work by making fun of our beliefs and our God, but you will find out in the Judgment Day how things really are.
I’m born again. On Judgement day, I’ll be at the Bema Seat.
At that moment, I am betting you will be very glad that there is such a thing as Purgatory. 😃
And, at that moment, I will be very sad for those who believed that they could earn their salvation in Purgatory.

I’ll take the ‘stupidity’ of these great, brave men over your sad blasphemy any day.
First, I’m not the one who’s blasphemed God.

Second, I’ll see your men and raise you God’s word.
