I’m still processing the ‘cracker’ thing. The more I think about it, it’s really an honor to undergo ridicule for adhering to Christ’s Gospel.

it really is. i think the Lord has given this opportunity to grow in our faith, and pray for a sinner that Jesus so wants to share his Divine Mercy with… although, he probably doesn’t need our prayers because he is going to Heaven, and he knows it…

Yes, it’s true that the Bible tells Christians that our salvation is assured.

However, if I had any reason to think that your prayers were sincere (and to God), I would welcome them. But, knowing that they’re not sincere and not prayed to God, I can’t really say that I care.
 
okay, i’ll bite. who are we praying to? and what makes you the judge of what is sincere or not?

Depends on the Roman Catholic. Different Catholics pray to different dead people.

Because it’s very hard to imagine that, after an entire day of calling me names, personal attacks, and insulting me, that you’re now filled with compassion.
 
i thought we were suppose to work out our salvation through fear and trembling?
someotherguy doesn’t seem to follow that verse.

But see, you’re limiting the cross to a historical event. We Catholics believe that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross back in 33 AD has redeemed us from our sins, here and now in 2008. It is one sacrifice which lasts forever. “He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered himself up,” Heb. 7:27. “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek,” Hebrews 7:17.

I recommend that you study the letter to the Hebrews. Christ has made one sacrifice which is everlasting, a sacrifice which has opened for us the gates of heaven. That is the power of the cross.

i thought God was the God of the living? you’re contradicting Christ, buddy. and i haven’t called you names, personal attacks, or blah blah blah… just pointing out the obvious.

Not at all. I proclaim the cross as God’s means of salvation for mankind.

Once again I want to point out John 6:53 and if you say that this is not to mean we are to eat Jesus’s body adn blood then you reject all the teachings of Christ.
 
someotherguy, just wondering… what do you think of the Jews believing that they are actually at the Exodus with their ancestors during Passover?
