i was up early yesterday morning watching some guy talk about the reformers and how great their work against transubstantiation was. the same guy at the end of the show started talking about accepting Jesus as your personal saviour and all that, and talked about how the Holy Spirit has the power to change people on the inside, comparing it to someone making a pot from clay.
so, my question is, why do protestants believe that the Holy Spirit has the power to “mold” people into something better, but can’t change a piece of bread or some wine into the ACTUAL Body and Blood of Christ? how or why is it a symbol?
growing up, i don’t remember ever hearing about this subject. at my baptist church, it was usually something against Mary.
