The Age of Aquarius

I don’t know how many of you are interested by astrology or have heard the song from the seventies about it, but I’m curious about the Age of Aquarius and if we’ve entered it.

Also, if one believed in it (which I personally do not) but what the Christian implication of this age would be or how it would help convey the Christian ideal since this age is rooted in understanding, love, and personal spiritual discovery.

Introducing the four living creatures; are the four evangelist who carry the Word of God to man. Rev.4:7…The first living creature like a lion = The Gospel of St. Mark. Remember we are in the Liturgy of the Word in heaven all at once, past, present and future made present in eternity in the Mass.

Mark’s gospel the oldest of the Gospels, he begins his gospel “A voice crying in the wilderness, which is wear the lions roar can be heard.
Luke is the second living creature flanking th-e throne of God like an ox. Which references the sacrifices in the temple of Jerusalem, Who begins his gospel with Jesus Christ’s life.
Matthew is the third living creature with a face of a man. Who begins his gospel with the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
John is the fourth living creature like a flying eagle. Who soars to great heights in contemplating the divinity of Jesus Christ.

What is interesting here is that the Lectionary is based on a three year cycle A B C. The biblical Gospels have odd and even years as well as each Gospel is proclaimed on earth when the Sun is in that particular constellation which represents a Gospel. For example we are in year b which is the Gospel of Mark, so the sun must be in the constellation of stars of Leo the Lion.

The Gospel of John is proclaimed in every year of each cycle with Matthew, Mark and Luke. Did you know if you attended every Mass for 3 years you would have “heard” the entire bible “read” to you and “taught” to you from a Bishop, Priest or deacon?

So from an Lectionary standpoint, you are in the age of Aquarius when the Gospel of Matthew is being proclaimed that year, when the sun is in this constellation of stars.

Now we are not talking fortune telling here. We are talking when the Mass is celebrated on earth, God is worshipped in the Mass with humanity, all of creation in the universe including the Church Triumphant in heaven all at once. But this may not be a topic of interest for your age of the aquarius?

On a side note; did you know that Job is the oldest book in the bible and Job lists many of the zodiac constellations? in fact the bible is littered with Mazzaroth or zodiac signs. The Hebrew word is “Sodi” which describes the path of the sun.

That sounds nice, but it is all bunk in reality. Lay down and be a martyr, then your kids, or their kids, can deal with 'em and eventually succumb and more will die. I was not talking about tax collectors or even the pagans who are benign and would rather leave you alone. I am talking about an ideology that is told they will go to heaven if they kill you, or subjugate you if you chose not to convert. And if they subjugate you we see in their laws there is no protection for you.

I think the ‘age of Aquarius’ idea is love gone stupid. Most of it is just a physical love - free sex and doing dope. The rest was just riots and protests led by the likes of those who wanted to overthrow a government that allowed them to protest and riot. Not too much love came from all of that from what I see 30-40 years later.

Agreed. But there is nothing benign about modern pagans.
