Please don’t try to spin the conversation again. First you tried the old “if this is all you have to complain about…” to misdirect the conversation. Now you are trying “well if that’s the case, why aren’t you talking about that?” Neither attempt at spin is appreciated or productive. Please refrain in the future, at least on my posts. Oh yea, I forgot to mention, at the TLM one does not need to bring a notebook or recorder to “document” the latest abuses. I wonder why abuses can so easily “creep in” to the NOM?
BTW:
The “halloween mask” priest was one in my former parish. He was an infrequent substitute when the pastor was out of town. He actually gave the sermon with it on, rubber life-like, then ran up and down the isle with a hand-mike trying to get people to guess what was in a brown bag he was waving. No one was guessing it right. Well, you know me by now, finally he came down my side of the isle. That was my que, and I hollered out “whatever it is, it’s a mortal sin”, as I was walking out, the people were still laughing. Lesson, never put a hand-mike near TNT…it’ll explode.
No, I don’t know what was actually in it. I did not stay to see.

So enjoy it while it lasts. I’m for chaos too…at football parties and democratic conventions. I just never could move the same enthusiasm for chaos over to the Mass Liturgy.

I still get overwhelmingly “joyful” at a musty TLM High Mass. 6 candles show up like the rising sun. I never have to check the rubrics, or bring my GIRM copy or canon law books with me to Mass, to see if a proper “catholic” mass is really taking place.

With the “new springtime” you just can’t be sure what will crop up in the garden…weeds, fire ants, beetles, half naked dancers, movie screens, clowns, halloween masks, black lights, glow in the dark vestments…
If the “new springtime” isn’t joyful, at least it’s unpredictable.
