Hmm… if my memory serves me right, there was actually more than one in fact. Even now, I believe they’ve made yet another.

Kinda freaky since it’s still a toy commercial anime just like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon. 😛

There’s the original Transformers, I think, early 80s. Then the movies came out. Now there’s something on CN with some little girl who’s the Transformers’ buddy, and there’s a cop occasionally on their side.
Not anime.
It doesn’t suck. But I don’t go looking for it.

Yeah, I was thinking of the original. I think there was a computer animated one before this current one and Optimus is scrawny and not really the manly character the '80s one was. The others on his team seem far tougher than he is.

I started out with AS, but then I had to see it in Japanese. Can’t even recall most of the character names, but I remember ID-ing the character design team as the ones who worked on some of the Gundam series.

In spite of some appealing characters (the little girl, and some char. I think was named Straight Cougar) it was equally incomprehensible in either language.
I thought Crispin Freeman played Straight Cougar well, but then again I haven’t seen the sub. Yeah, I can definitely see the parallels between this series and Gundam.

Anyone have any bets on whose gonna win in Bleach?

I bought an itunes card and I’m looking for some anime episodes. Problem is alot of the shows I don’t like. I also checked out the first episode of Black Blood Brothers. Didn’t care for it.

And why do you guys like Bleach? There’s a lot of imodesty in the show. And what’s with that guy wearing a cross on his wrist?

Don’t look at me. I only listened to one song because ‘Hiei’ sings it.

Oh—almost forgot.

This one’s for Lost Wanderer!!! ^^

Immodesty, as opposed to DBZ’s dirty ol’ Roshi or Inuyasha’s Miroku? Even Tinkerbell and some human Disney cartoon women wear revealing clothes. It’s risque humor, but Ichigo doesn’t like to see women naked. I wouldn’t show the shows to kids, but I’m not sure I should be concerned about anime. I could be wrong.

I’m pretty sure there’s more eye-candy in that show/manga to set to your sights on than a few skimpy outfits and risque jokes. :ehh: Then again, Argh’s probably gonna back with some rant about plotkai again or something (I don’t know what’s happening in the series right now because I’m so busy so I don’t like to comment on the story right now till I do).

P.S.

Are you talking about Ishida? He’s a Quincy. They all have that. 😛 I’d explain but right now, I’m still in the middle of evaluating 5D’s.

Actually, you don’t need to be concerned at all. Heck a majority of popular anime is rated for thirteen and above. I find people who say that cartoons should be limited to cheesy, kiddie fluff are very insulting. -.-

Well, Rurouni Kenshin is modest, except for a bathhouse scene with the group of friends (which is not intended to be saucy), and it doesn’t insult anyone’s intelligence. Bleach might be pushing it a bit. Just don’t check out what hentai is.

Transformers is a bit odd, but I suppose a breakdown is in order.

The original Transformers from the 80s, while animated in Japan, is drawn in the typical Marvel/Sunbow style which is distinct from anime. Think more along the lines of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Silverhawks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc.

Transformers series that followed, namely Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, Victory, and Zone are anime despite some stylistic elements being based more off the Sunbow/Marvel aesthetic.

Beast Wars and Beast Machines are Canadian/American.

Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo are anime.

Robots in Disguise is a dub of the Car Robots anime.

Likewise, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron are just dubs of Micron Legend, Superlink, and Galaxy Force, respectively.

Transformers Animated is American, and the upcoming Transformers Prime will be as well if I’m not mistaken.

That many versions? Wow!
Some anime is completed in S. (I hope) Korea by Koreans.

After the '80s version, I just remember this computer animated one that bored me.
I liked the '80s shows. For kids, the humor was the comic relief or a witty remark by the hero. The heros saved the villains from almost dying and nobody ever killed others, despite shooting lasers at each other. There were were good values, though women, in some, were dressed in revealing clothes. Kids are losing their innocence, mentally, younger and younger, so maybe 10-year olds were looking. They never showed as much as anime does, though, and there were no dirty-minded characters in them. Rurouni Kenshin has been the cleanest anime I’ve ever seen.

Yeah I think that’s the guy. It’s not the fact that he’s wearing a cross on his wrist that bothers me. I’ve worn rosary beads on my wrist (is that ok to do?) but rather that he seems to be the bad guy. Why is it that the bad guys are the ones who wear crosses?

Well what about someone who has sensualty towards that despite it being a cartoon? It happens. Ep. 6 of Bleach is what really ticked me off the most where the mod soul takes Ichigo’s body and he sees the red headed girl. If you saw that you know what I’m talking about. If I had a 13 year old I would not want him to be desensitized to that stuff. I grew up on South Park and Family Guy and I regret it.

Kon? Yeah, he always jumps after women when he sees their breasts. Then, there’s the lesbian. There’s plenty of big breastsa on the show, maybe because their women are seen, maybe by them, as being underdeveloped in that area.

He only starts out as Ichigo’s rival. He actually becomes a popular protagonist throughout the remainder of the series. Not to mention, he isn’t always so bishie cool. XD

Ishida + Sewing + Kon = :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Here’s the thing Eagel, you despise sensuality in anime. I on the other hand, accept it as just another aspect of our century. No matter how much you loathe it, protest it, boycott it, it’ll be there. However, since you’re so focused on such things, you may realize that they’re not even the entire picture and you become like a moralist version of Shallow Hal.

Anyways, thirteen is still a little too young. I’d give it a little bit longer till I see signs of maturity.

What I like about Kon is the same thing I like about Jiraiya. They both get beaten up and land in hilarious circumstances cuz they’re pervs. XD

I just have to ask you. Are there animes out there that you DON’T have some sort of problem with?

Uhhh…

Come on dude, cut me some slack. Shouldn’t you be glad someone has a stance against immorality?

Maybe that’s the problem. People have come to except the fact that the world is going to the pit in a hog cart. Catholics think that abortion and homosexual unions are acceptable too. Do you really wanna accept stuff like that? Remember Sodom and Gommorah?

Look everyone, I struggle with sexual sins, alright? I’d like an anime that won’t tempt me. You guys understand now?

I know it sounds facetious but I’m seriously asking. Also there’s no problem with avoiding something if you have to. I completely understand some people struggle with certain sins more than others and may be more sensitive to things that others have no problem with. And if that means they have to go more out of their way to avoid certain things that are otherwise generally innocuous then I don’t fault them for it.

However that still doesn’t justify some expectation that the rest of the world will go out of its way to protect and accomodate you. I wouldn’t expect that any more than I would expect a total ban on alcoholic beverages just to avoid tempting all the alcoholics.
