Isabel is the only Spanish name from those.

here is a dragon ball question for ya! why the heck did android 18 allow krillian to name their girl after his old girlfriend?!

What should I watch? A brilliant but easy introduction? I have heard of this Evangelion show and apparently its brilliant? Thanks 🙂

I like Evangelion, In fact it’s one of the top shows on my list but I wouldn’t really recommend it to people who’ve just started watching anime.

“A brilliant but easy introduction?” hmmm…, I’d say Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood. It’s awesome, it just came out a year ago and it has a couple of christian themes within it.

What’s you’re genre? If you liked Dragonball, I suppose mainstream shounen such as Naruto and Bleach first come to mind. Fairy Tail is also decent (though that’s probably because it uses intense art and action to compensate for an otherwise very generic story).

If you can handle seinen, then I may have a few more recommendations there.
 
Kenshin is good if you like your anime squeaky clean. There maybe was one private bathhouse scene. I liked Trigun, Yu Yu Hakushoo, Kekkeishi and Full Metal Alchemist, also, as clean and fun anime, if I remember correctly. Miyazaki’s stuff is fun, as far as Japanese animated movies go. Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is mostly clean in its first 2 discs. Teen Titans is, I think, a good transitional anime-ish American series and always good for some laughs.
 
wow, it seems I’m the only one here who liked Neon Genesis Evangelion and is raving about the recent re-telling/re-imagination of Eva through the four new movies (2 have been released already). :o

I started that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and I must say… I ended up watching 6 episodes in a row 😊 It’s so good! I didn’t think I’d like anime but… this show at least is real good!

Well if its any consolation, I’m virtually the only one here who still follows Naruto and trying to find time to catch up with Bleach.

And I’m not even mentioning other shows such as Negima, Soul Eater, and Air Gear since I’m more than likely to get frowned upon here for that.

Haha if you enjoyed Dragon Ball, i’m sure we can find something for you. As for Evangelion, it is definitely not a show for everyone. It’s a mecha show, which means it involves epic giant robot battles.

The creator, Hideaki Anno, created the original while suffering a bout of depression, and it shows in having all the characters having some sort of mental flaw. The content may offend your religious sensibilities, with monsters called ‘Angels’ and references to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Lance of Longinus. However, he’s much better now so you might want to check out ‘Rebuild of Evangelion’ (yes, seriously that’s what its called), a recent remake as mentioned by tantumquantum, if the above religious references don’t offend you. It is quite a brilliant show, with a message of coming out of your shell and facing the world no matter how difficult it may be.

As for other recommendations, I say it all depends on what genre you like, much like movies. Since you like Dragon Ball, yeah, go for stuff like naruto, Bleach and One Piece. Haha good luck trying to find one you like!
 
Currently we’re watching in tandem Kenshin and Go.

Go is absolutely appropriate for all ages and surprisingly dramatic and engaging. And while I love Kenshin, and the battles are great, fair warning: it’s gory.

Well, Anyone here likes Ergo Proxy?

That was a nice show, I really enjoyed it.

I watched recently the new Evangelion movie, one of the best moments was in the trailer to the next production, that donkey is great character, lots of potential, wow.

FMA is great too.

I don’t remember if anyone has mentioned FLCL yet ^^

It’s not clean (a couple scenes if I remember correctly), but it’s certainly one of the more imaginative series, if the whopping 6 episodes can be called a series.

Also, Kubo is finally done with the wishy-washy mamby-pamby junk. I SO called Gin. I did. I so [word that can’t be said on this forum] did.

Also wik, Adult Swim has a new anime, Kekkaishi. I have no idea what it’s about, could anyone tell me before I either walk into something ecchi or something not worth the time?

Also also wik, why in the world would Adult Swim option another anime? Anime doesn’t get them ratings…

Also also also wik, if 2-D girls start looking good to you, it’s time to lay off the anime. If I could link the MOT of “because real chicks won’t do,” I would. But I can’t, so I won’t.

The Garlic Jr. Saga where Krillin had a girlfriend was all filler story for the anime. Essentially, the whole thing never really happened.
 
I just finished watching Osamu Tezuka’s The Phoenix. I thought it was pretty good, but a little heavy on the philosophical aspects.
 
I think, in one episode of Inuyasha, someone mistakes Shippo for a girl. It is a pretty big bow.

The last Unuyasha episode I saw online and on Adult Swim was the one where Kagome shoots the arrow from inside the mouth of Inuyasha’s dead father at Naraku and Hakudoshi in their bubble, after she stabilizes Inuyasha, when he began to transform. There was an explosion. That was it. They go off to hunt Naraku and that’s it. I don’t know what else there is of it, if any.
