Man, you know that like most toku dramas, Kamen Rider is both a show at the same time, a toy commercial.
Personally, I think the same thing could be said for some anime out there featuring card games, creatures or tops: they serve as a promotional stunt to get the kids to buy them. (゜~゜)
Not that I hate them: Yu-Gi-Oh (the original one
/s, not its spinoffs) and Pokemon are rather good - if not fun to lampoon, as evidenced by the countless MADs and parodies out there.
That said, I’d like to introduce two of the unintentional humor that the animators of Yu-Gi-Oh have committed (and which has been overused in parodies since time immemorial):

Still, the henshin sequences and weapons never get old for me. XD
Since you’ve said it: 返信!
…Er, I mean: 変心!
No! Why does it keep coming out wrong!? Ah, here we go.
変身!(゜o゜)/
As an aside, I ROFLed hard when Kamen Rider Double inserts the Gaia Memories on his belt and THAT VOICE keeps saying “
Cyclone! Joker!” or whatever combination he is doing at the moment. Another case of unintentional humor, I think.
However, I think the charge of biggest perpetrators of this tactic should be directed against the
Super Sentai series.
Ah, I remember the old days when I used to watch Jetman or Fiveman in late afternoons…good memories.

Hey, you’ve got to admit that Fiveman’s
ending theme is good.
And Jetman’s
ED is by the legendary
KAGEYAMA HIRONOBU.
