And some of us prefer watching on a big screen with good sound quality and in better comfort than hunched at a desk chair. šŸ˜ƒ
 
If I hadnā€™t seen them all before, I couldnā€™t be starting up on Kenshin, Inuyasha DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho at the same time. Not now, at least. Living at home with my parents, Iā€™m lucky to get in one episode, as theyā€™re and the main TV is always around where the computer is and I never know when theyā€™ll need to tell me something. Since I have a job now, I canā€™t stay up after theyā€™ve all gone to bed.
 
Anyone know why ā€œMonsterā€ episodes are no longer being shown on Syfy?
 
Yeah, Iā€™m majoring in Spanish, and in my surfing to find stuff to watch, listen to, and read in Spanish, Iā€™ve found that DBZ is or was huge in latin america as well. (ES DE MAS DE 8000!!!)

I donā€™t like anime very much. As has been said before, its another culture, and I donā€™t understand all the references. Their concept of what is holy or sacred is completely different from ours (God or gods are not the ultimate reality and can have character flaws etc).

Just remember that the Catholics in japan are very faithful (thereā€™s also Our Lady of Akita)

Maybe the Japanese are as fascinated by the foreign, exotic, and bizarre as we are. Except, of course, they donā€™t tattoo misspelled words on their bodies in a foreign script, that I know of.

I donā€™t know about tattoos, but thereā€™s mangled English EVERYWHERE in Japan (all your base are belong to us!)

Iā€™ve almost given up anime for horse racing, but not quite.

There is Christian anime? Awesome! I really like anime but I donā€™t want to end up watching ecchi stuff by accident. I must look up these haha sounds so cool! Thanks šŸ™‚

ha ha! Thanks. If I could wield electricity I would probably look like that. I like how thereā€™s a battle of innocence and corruption in him. Heā€™s trying not to let his powers control him.

Re-discovery, more like. I was nuts about horse racing as a kid, and just a while ago a friend reminded me about the Derby, and I remembered the great Kelso, and then found a TV channel that shows racing. šŸ˜ƒ

Racing is fairly big in Japan. Now if there could just be a horse-racing animeā€¦
 
No one has to respond to keep the line of discussion going, but has anyone watched Kekkaishi on CN? The dog spiritā€™s name, when said on the show, sounds like ā€œHuckabeeā€. I think thatā€™s funny.
 
Big anime manga fan here.

avatar the last airbender, naruto, bleach, kennshin are among the ones i watch a lot.

a guilty favorite is cowboy bepop and anything with the gundam series. well nearly any gundam series, i hated gundam SD and the one where it was like the gundams were all in a wwe wrestling organization.

That should be the Yukimuraā€™s spirit dog Hakubi right. haha. Anyway, I found Kekkaishi to be a good show along with Historyā€™s Strongest Disciple Kenichi (which I believe aired the same fall season). Both though, ended without proper conclusions as the manga counterpart was still ongoing. The manga chapters are getting pretty interesting though especially since Kekkaishi it seems is about to get to itā€™s climax and HSDKā€™s also getting into the thick of things.

Welcome to the forum ZhaneAugustine,

Gundams in a wrestling organization, Iā€™ll take a wild guess that would be G gundam right. Being a Gundam fan as well I appreciated the show for itā€™s own merits, who couldnā€™t resist Domonā€™s hot-bloodedness and his Shining Finger attack.

In any case, it is one of my wildest dreams that this giant thing can become a mechanical reality in my lifetime.

EWā€™s posts got me back into drawing (which Iā€™ve badly missed).

This is a quick colored-pencil sketch I did to illustrate the last chapter of my YYH fic. The middle figure has an ink-wash overlay.
