I agree with everything the bishop wrote and applaud him for having the courage to name names, as in this passage:
“‘Where is this church?’ It is certainly not situated in Andrew Greeley or Richard McBrien, or Sister Chittester, or in the myriads of other personages and voices whose faces and words appear to dominate the media when it come to Catholic expression.”

All I can say is that I’m seeing Catholicism decline to nothing in this nation. Our Lady, Queen of Apostles, pray for us; send us many such faithful servants. Our Church needs reform. When will Bruskewitz get the red biretta? He deserves it! With all due respect to the Holy Father.( I think he’s brilliant)
I have a question…
What would happen if he came to America and gave this exact speech?
Why doesn’t he do it?
And then start naming names and physically (if necessary)remove the dissenters and banish them to some far away Island.

He is a “voice in the wilderness.” A modern day John the Baptist. I hope that we have Eucharistic adoration, reverent masses and better Catechists. Mahony, Trautman, Brown, etal should be tied to a chair and forced to listen to him! I always wondered if this man would be the next pope.
He might as well be known as Bishop Fabian the Dauntless.

It may seem like it, but he’s not alone. He speaks for many of our bishops, especially the younger ones. He will never receive a red beanie; he’s been too controversial for too long. But, Archbishop Chaput, or Burke or Myers or…name your favorite YOUNG, faithful bishop, would make an excellent choice for the next American cardinal.
Also, don’t be surprised at some dramatic moves from Rome in the next year or so. The chess pieces are being placed crefully.

Bishop Bruskewitz is awesome!!! I was confirmed at The Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, NE and entered the Church in his diocese. I often feel like that is my home Church and that my wife and I were so greatly blessed to have come home to the faith in that diocese.
