Where did you get all this from?He is a man but is completely possesed. I believe we are living in the time of the Antichrist ( Antichrist with a capital A…Hilter was a type of antichrist just as Nero was.) I am as sure of this as I am now sitting here writing this. He is here. He is now gathering wealth until the time that he will come into power when the world is thrown into complete desperation. He will preform a “miracle” that solves a serious global problem. People will believe he must be God and will fall down and worship him. Christians will believe he is the Second Coming of Christ. J**ews and Muslims will believe he is the long awaited Messiah. And Eastern religions will believe he is the Matreya. He looks different to each who sees him. He appears to people differently according to what each person considers to be attractive. **He is a liar and a deceiver. Use caution when trying to discover who he is because he will come to you and you will not be able to resist him without supernatural help. It is best to prepare yourself spiritually rather than to try to find out about him. You cannot recognize him unless your soul is in the state of Grace.
But as, when formerly He was to take man’s nature, and God was expected to be born of a Virgin, the devil created prejudice against this, by craftily preparing among idol-worshippers fables of false gods, begetting and begotten of women, that, the falsehood having come first, the truth, as he supposed, might be disbelieved; so now, since the true Christ is to come a second time, the adversary, taking occasion by the expectation of the simple, and especially of them of the circumcision, brings in a certain man who is a magician, and most expert in sorceries and enchantments of beguiling craftiness; who shall seize for himself the power of the Roman empire, and shall falsely style himself Christ; by this name of Christ deceiving the Jews, who are looking for the Anointed, and seducing those of the Gentiles by his magical illusions. Will it be a person or a philosophy such as globalization or relativism??
The Roman Catholic catechism seems to say that it is more of an anti-christ philosophy. Will it be a person or a philosophy such as globalization or relativism??
I am not one to speculate as to how such a temple would be built, only that the various vessels and garments for temple worship have been made for a third temple, and continue to be made as we speak.Well the antichrist is certainly an individual. The scriptures attest to this several times. St. Paul referring to him as the son of perdition, and man of sin.
2 Thess. 2:3 [3] Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, [4] Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.
And revelation says the number of the beast is the number of a man
Rev. 13:18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six.
The spirit of the antichrist can exist apart from the man himself, and the spirit of the antichrist is denying that Jesus is the Christ.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar, but he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist, who denieth the Father, and the Son.
So I think, from the very little we know about the antichrist, we know at least two things for certain: The antichrist will be a person, and he will deny that Jesus is the Christ.
now other things could provide clues, but its pure speculation.
Like in the verse I quoted above from Thessalonians; Paul talks about the antichrist setting himself up in the Temple and setting himself up as God.
A precursor to this is detailed in 1 Maccabees 1:57-60
[57] On the fifteenth day of the month Casleu, in the hundred and forty-fifth year, king Antiochus set up the abominable idol of desolation upon the altar of God, and they built altars throughout all the cities of Juda round about: [58] And they burnt incense, and sacrificed at the doors of the houses, and in the streets. [59] And they cut in pieces, and burnt with fire the books of the law of God: [60] And every one with whom the books of the testament of the Lord were found, and whosoever observed the law of the Lord, they put to death, according to the edict of the king.
King Antiochus Epiphanes set up an idol of Jupiter Olympius on the altar of God in the temple, and as you can see here it is referred to as the abominable idol of desolation, mirroring the words of the prophet Daniel:
Daniel 11:31 And forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual [burnt-offering], and they shall set up the abomination that maketh desolate.
I believe these are types of the inevitable antichrist, just as other men have played that role throughout history whether it be Antiochus Epiphanes, Nero, Caligula, Hitler, whoever.
Now this is purely my opinion, but if the antichrist does indeed need to set himself up in the temple as God, then that means the temple would have to be rebuilt at some point, and for that to happen, the dome of the rock must be no longer be standing at the point in time when these events take place. Would that happen as a result of a war? who knows. just my speculation; feel free to interject on this point, im interested in any and all opinions.
THE ANTI-CHRIST(S)Will it be a person or a philosophy such as globalization or relativism??
The term can be used in both senses. At any given time, a person may attract the label “anti-Christ” on account of their behaviour. Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot were all types of Anti-Christ.Will it be a person or a philosophy such as globalization or relativism??
well there are a couple people that think that the temple itself did not sit were the Dome of the Roc k is but over to the side a bit that would allow for the rebuilding of the Temple without destroying the Mound of the Rock. Now this is purely my opinion, but if the antichrist does indeed need to set himself up in the temple as God, then that means the temple would have to be rebuilt at some point, and for that to happen, the dome of the rock must be no longer be standing at the point in time when these events take place. John Howard is not the Anti Christ if he is then he needs Australians to actually like him first. He was actually a great PM and never chased the popularity vote. John Howard is more concern about being the head of the world cricket board. Now unless the world cricket board has a secret agenda to control the world i doubt that old Johnny Howard is going to do anything. I think Americans need to realize that your super power status has gradually declined and you may need to look elsewhere forThe term can be used in both senses. At any given time, a person may attract the label “anti-Christ” on account of their behaviour. Josef Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot were all types of Anti-Christ.
It can also apply to a movement or ideology. Hardline Communism certainly had an Anti-Christ message. So did Nazism. So is the hard line atheism of today.
However i think in the ultimate sense it will be a single person, working hand in glove with the devil, which is how he will get his power. That’s where the Third Reich got it’s terrible power and sinister brilliance from, but the devil failed that time. I think he’s in the process of trying again.
It would seem the Anti-Christ will suffer a real or simulated death and resurrection, just as Christ did (hence the full meaning of the term). And I can quote Bishop Fulton Sheen on that - at least the “simulated death and resurrection” bit. I’ve got a DVD of a retreat he lead, and he used the exact term in relation to the Anti-Christ.
My own opinion is that he’s a particular American politician (not Obama, despite the dislike of some I’ve read on this forum), since the USA is the only power which can enforce it’s military will around the globe, and also has the technology to enforce the corollary, “No-one could buy or sell without the mark of the beast”. The bloke I’ve got in mind is certainly a clever and consummate politician.
From the comments I’ve read by various saints of the past, he will have a lot of charm, and at first will appear totally unlike a Hitler figure. The gloves will come off later.
He’ll appoint ten “kings” (more likely politicians these days) around the globe to rule various areas for him as it would be too much for one person to handle. Around 1991, my old Protestant pastor and I were discussing various political figures, and he nominated a certain Australian political figure as our “King”.
It started when I made the comment that I thought a certain Australian Prime Minister would cause a lot of trouble.
He responded that he thought that if there was going to be an Australian politician who caused trouble, he thought it was someone else, and named him. At the time this seemed very unlikely to me, but indeed a few years this person did become PM for some years, against all the predictions of the time. However the pastor himself was dead by this time. His prediction that he thought the politico would become PM was accurate though.
Now the pastor wasn’t much given to “end-times” stuff. Most of it originates from the USA and he found a lot of it was, to use his own words, “a bit weird”. A lot of the frantic atmosphere of US “end times prophecy” can be traced back to the US civil war, which had a tremendous impact on a religious nation.
He pointed out the Europeans didn’t have the same attitude, yet they had a much longer Christian experience and history, including the immense violence of the Reformation.
Getting back to his nomination for our “King”, he commented, “He’ll be a real little tyrant. About the only thing we’ll have going for us will be his age. I don’t see all these things happening till he’s in his seventies.” Well, the particular politician he nominated did become PM a few years later, and he turned 70 last year. He was also at great pains to ingratiate himself with some US politicians. I personally suspect he knew that was where his future power would come from.
So if the old pastor was right, we are living in the age of the Anti-Christ, and sometime in the next nine years at the very most he’ll seize power.
I found the pastor wasn’t wrong very often.
If that’s the case, fun times are ahead of us. I don’t think.
