Nice try, but that is not an “article,” it is just propaganda from the SSPX’s own leader.
And, that’s it? You just claim that it’s “propaganda”, and that the case is closed? How about saying what is not true about it, and maybe provide some reasons?

It’s still a news article whether you like it or not, and a fairly well researched one from the looks of it. So if you’re going to claim its propoganda you’re going to have come out with some convincing reasons why, otherwise its just another ad hominem attack to add to the rather long list the SSPX and all other conservative catholics have had to put with over the years

You are obviously looking at something totally different. The so-called “article” is, as its title even admits, “Bishop Fellay’s sermon given during the ceremony of the ordinations, in Winona (USA).” Only to the most unquestioning Lefebvroid lemming could a propaganda sermon conceivably be termed a “news article” – so doubtless you just clicked on some other link and were looking at actual news when you mistakenly typed the above.

I suppose by that standard we should call all sermons which are reported in newsarticles as propoganda? I wonder if you would be so willing to brand cardinals or bishops sermons as propoganda, should we perhaps brand the holy fathers as propoganda as well? As for lefebvroid, lefebvreites etc… No such type of people exist I’m afraid

It is not an article in any way, shape, or form. I don’t know how you can possibly maintain this claim with any shred of honesty. It is just the text of his sermon, and nothing else, spreading the false, anti-Roman claims of this dioceseless pretender bishop’s splinter sect.

Who exactly do you think you’re helping here? Yourself? Others? Do you somehow think your diatribe is helping the cause of the truth? It’s a new article on a website which contains the text of his sermon in common parlance its a news article, if you don’t like the society or bishop Williamson go start a bashing thread.

But isn’t true there are mixed messages from Rome?

For example: we are not to attend SSPX chapels regularly, but we are allowed to attend if there is no other EF mass.

Even among the bishops, there are some who are conservative and some who are more liberal. There are some who are quietly supportive of the SSPX and there are some who are not. We have seen examples discussed on this board how some Bishops are disobedient and do their own thing.

Isn’t it possible, that in a body, there would be different viewpoints?

It’s always interesting how the radical liberalism of yesterday is the mainstream of today. Remember slavery in this country? It was the wild liberals who were the abolitionists of the time. Would any sane person want to go back to that? How about Medicare? Would any Americans really want to see the elderly dying in the street, which they certainly did in our past. How about democracy, for that matter? Definitely a very liberal concept when it was introduced.

I’ve always found it amusing, and tragic, that some people try so hard to place a label on every issue. There are so many problems and solutions that truly aren’t either liberal or conservative or libertarian or anything! There can simply be different ways of viewing a situation. It’s only been relatively recent that people in our country have wasted so much effort trying to label. I can remember President Ford, before his death, stating that he would never be elected to office now on the Republican label because the party had moved so far to the right since he was Minority Leader in Congress. Richard Nixon, who made his name fighting the commies; analyze his actions in his presidency. It’s an education in how much more “conservative” we have gotten in a generation or so.

In evaluating anything, you must be aware of the biases. So YES he is helping. Do you think your outburst helps? In coommon parlance? Not in my circle would it be considered news:rolleyes: However what your post indicates is someone who is irritated that his view point is being questioned.
Now I wll go duck as I probaly will get the same uncharitable answer. 😦

I don’t see there being a mixed message:confused:

Anyone who could read the page would be aware of bias one way or the other, to say something is bias and something is propoganda is not the same thing. As for an uncharitable answer, I’ve yet to be uncharitable so far as I can see, perhaps you should be careful lest you commit the sin of presumption though?

Same here. Liberalism is just way to scary. Amzing how you can be a young liberal to growing up conservative lol.
“If you are not liberal when you are young, you have no heart, and if you are not conservative when you are old, you have no brain”.

I forget who said that…
