**I think the older generation which gave us;
  • the contraceptive pill,
  • no-fault divorce
  • abortion on demand, **
…unwittingly produced the younger generation that is cynical and apathetic about the nuclear family and heterosexual monogamous, lifelong marriage.
These kids who grew up with estranged parents, custody battles, domestic violence, weekend visitation, step ‘dads’, etc. etc. are now asking themselves, whats the big deal?
Is it any wonder they answer opinion poll surveys about SSM with an attitude of…* 'so-what" wheres the harm?*

It’s time we started using “The Family”[sup]TM[/sup] as the focal point of our Christian apologetics and evangelism in these challenging times.

We need to get back to A Permanent Nazareth.

Bishop Christopher Prowse
Catholic Bishop of Sale (Australia)
Yes, I think you are right. It is not so much that homosexuals will destroy civilization. It is that the disintegration of the family structure will destroy civilization.

And the disintegration of family structure has been going on for awhile. This was noted by Carle Zimmerman in his work “Family and Civilization,” noting the correlation between the decline of family and the decline of civilization.

Contraception delinks marriage from procreation, thereby delinking marriage from children, no-fault divorces makes wedding vows meaningless and void, abortion kills a huge proportion of the next generation. The sexual revolution made sex a plaything.

Same sex marriage is just the latest absurdity, a pretend marriage in which there can be no marital union, no conjugal relations, and children are mere products to be obtained rather than persons to be loved.

It’s too bad. But one might as well be prepared for the next collapse. Catholicism will rebuild civilization after the collapse, as it has done in the past.

There is only one definition of marriage that is acknowledged by God and that is the sacred and lifelong union of one man and one woman in marriage with their families. That is the only definition of marriage I will ever recognize.

From Petronius Arbiter all the way to Andy Warhol… but those are only the media darlings. Depravity has been around always.
I couldn’t find anything about Petronius having homosexual tendencies. Either way, he lived during the reign of Nero. Petronius did in 65 A.D. The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 A.D. As you can see there is a big gap between these dates, and in between them Rome became a Christian Empire.

I am not quite sure how you factor Andy Warhol into all this. He was an artist and did not influence public policy in any way, shape, or form.

Andy Warhol was a devout Ruthenian-rite Catholic who followed the teaching of the Church and remained celibate.

Honestly…

Both Petronius and Warhol are perfect exapmles of artists exposing the depravity of their society in the media that they had available to them in their times. And you can be sure that they’re both a couple of dick smokers themselves. How could you miss the point…? Because you want to dodge the point, that’s why.

Reported, and I would like to again remind people that Andy Warhol faithfully followed the teaching of the Church regarding his same-sex attraction. A very devout Ruthenian Catholic, he freely chose to remain celibate. Fortified by the Sacraments, he was laid to rest in 1987 following a funeral Mass at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church. He should be held up as a model for all people struggling with that particular temptation.
