My parish in Bardstown. The current church was built in 1812. The log house beside the church was the home of Bishp Flaget. This church was the Diocesan Center before the Saint Joseph Cathedral was built in 1819. She isn’t as pretty as some of the gorgeous Cathedrals on here but she is still beautiful to me.

The Cathedral of the Assumption in Louisville, Kentucky. After a population explosion in Louisville, Kentucky, the Diocese of Bardstown moved to Louisville and eventually became the Archdiocese of Louisville. This cathedral was actually built around an existing church. Once the Cathedral was finished, they tore down the old church block by block and removed it.

St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Philadelphia. This was originally damaged by the riots in Philadelphia during the 1800s. (A lot of anti-Catholicism. It was the reason why their cathedral was built with windows very high up so that rioters couldn’t throw things through them.

National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia Philadelphia. If you read the info regarding the background of this church, it’s very touching to see how much the poor, immigrants of that city loved their Church to contribute to such a beautiful house of God.
