No, you didn’t get that right. God sacrificed Himself to Himself to save us from our sins, which merit death.

It’s a little strange, beautiful, and makes perfect sense.

Maybe i’m wrong, but my thought is this: God Himself sacrificed Himself in order to save you and i from ourselves. If you and i don’t need saving from ourselves, then why do we feel guilt?
