I’ll wait and see before believing that “the cafeteria is closed.” JPII spent a great deal of effort against pick-and-choose Catholicism and he didn’t succeed over the space of a quarter of a century.

I doubt that B16 will be able to do better than JPII did.

But, time will tell.

The Pauline reform of the liturgy? Entire NATIONS have rejected that. As I recall, the “Paul VI Mass” is SUPPOSED to have a mixture of Latin and the vernacular. Rare is a parish to be found who does this, and therefore accepts the Pauline reform of the liturgy!
