I think hamba2han(all due respect to your full name) is just like a doubting Thomas but not a disciple yet, the story of the doubting Thomas. Even standing before Jesus he doubts till he sees the scars in the hands.
So he is our doubting Thomas:)
Spiritually, he needs the gift of faith. Jesus did make a call to be fishers of men.

Dear James,

I could not stop from laughing reading your post. You are correct. I used to hang my rosary around the windshield mirror in my car. After my muslim friend borrowed my car, I realize that my rosary was gone. Later he admitted that he took it off, and put the rosary in the drawer. Sorry for being off topic…
Hmmm, maybe you should look real well under the car and under the hood to make sure he didn’t leave any special clocks or other ticking devices as a gift for borrowing it… 😃

kidding…

For those of you who find hamba’s dedication admirable, remember that Muslim’s who apostasize to another religion are on the death list.

Rather than find his dedication to his false god admirable, maybe you should question your own dedication to Christ.

The word sword is “machiara” and is figurative of war and judicial punishment. It is derived from “mache” which means to quarrel, a dispute, controversy.

In the text, Jesus first say’s not to fear them who can kill the body but are unable to kill the soul.

When Jesus said he came to send a sword. He was foretelling that there would be opposition to the gospel.

He then say’s that if we confess him before men he will confess us before God.

In Luke 12:49, Jesus said "I am come to send fire on the earth…

The question then is “war and controversy” with whom? Mt. 10 say’s with those of his own household. Jesus said that anything we put before Christ means we are not worthy of him. Christ called this “take up his cross and follow after him”.

Whenever someone accepts Christ, divisions occur. But our loyalty should remain with Christ.

This does not imply that a christian should take up his sword…“and his cross” and kill people if they don’t convert.

It does imply that there would be opposition or “war” against the gospel and if one does accept Christ, you may encounter opposition from family etc.

The koran teaches jihad.

Fact: Not all Muslim’s are terrorist. But, all terrorist are Muslim’s! And in case you haven’t noticed. The people who are actively engaged in terrorism worldwide are not Catholic altar boys. They are Muslim jihadist who want nothing more than to steal, kill, and destroy to convert the planet to Islam.

This basic verse is found three times in the koran.

When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield **strike off their heads **and, when you have laid them low, bind your captives firmly."

(Koran 5: 33-34) “The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they** will be killed or crucified,** or have their hands and feet and alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom; Save those who repent before ye overpower them. For know that Allah is forgiving, merciful.”

(Koran 76: 4) “Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers chains, yokes and** a blazing fire.” **

( 9:29**).“kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” **

2:191), **“murder them and treat them harshly”(9:123), “**fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem” ( 9:5). **

Muhammed was also the author of mercy killings which we see going on in the Muslim world today. You know, bury people up to their waist or deeper and cut their heads off or simply stone them to death.

Muhammad in his Quran permits husbands to beat their wives.

Muhammad in his Quran commands that the hands of male or female thieves should be cut off.

Holy war is not what Jesus called for in the bible. Muhammed and Osama bin laden both promote this kind of evil.

YET YOU DID NOT QUOTE WHAT JESUS ANSWERED ABOUT USING SWORDS.

WOULD YOU QUOTE JESUS REPLY BECAUSE ONLY THEN “MAYBE” YOU WILL ANSWER YOURSELF?
I have already answered this long ago in this post.

Also, it may well be that I am not accurate in saying that the ‘cross’ in Matthew 10:38 means a sword… perhaps it means this instead:

http://library.thinkquest.org/CR0214640/crossbow.jpg

It is called a ‘crossbow’ and they certainly were used as weapons at the time of Prophet Jesus (pbuh).

hamba2han, I’m convinced now that you are not serious, and you think we are a bunch of fools. And fools we are for thinking you were serious.

There are only 2 groups of people that would benefit from denying Jesus’ cross; i) Devil worshippers and ii) Muslims (see Qur’an 4:157). I think you’re in bad company.

I think it’s time to leave this wasteful thread. Bye bye. 👋

hamba,

Your own personal interpretations are meaningless and a lie. They may work for you when you interpret a false book like the koran, but not the Holy Word of God.

The word cross is “stauros” which means…and I know this troubles you, “a cross”!

However, the word bow in Islam figuratively means, “to struggle against much travail in order to obtain a goal”. Sounds a little like what a jihadist engages in…holy war!

Maybe this is what he meant + a plus sign. Unless you add to your faith the teachings of Christ you cannot be saved. Unless you add to your already difficult life a new religious direction based on forgiveness and prayer, you cannot be saved. Unless you add to your concern a concern for your fellow man, you cannot be saved. I can go on. This is the first time I have seen the connection between the cross and math!! The addition of Christ to our lives adds to our rewards in heaven!! Thank you!

Was the cross bow the weapon of choice for Mohammed and his early followers?

The following is from another thread as the subject of Jesus (pbuh) calling his followers to ‘jihad’ is not really related to the topic of that thread:

Nowhere in the Bible does Jesus (pbuh) unequivocally says that he is God and then proceeds to command his followers to worship him.

On the other hand, the Bible does indeed record that he unequivocally says the following:

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.Matthew 10:34

Why then do Christians insist on believing that Jesus is God i.e. something that Jesus himself NEVER said or emphasized throughout his ministry… and yet they refuse to believe that he came not to send peace on earth i.e. something which he did indeed say very clearly and categorically as recorded in Matthew 10:34??

If Christians do believe that salvation can only be obtained by believing in Jesus Christ, then they certainly have a most bizarre way of showing it.

This is akin to someone who is struggling to stay afloat in the ocean and he grasps at a straw i.e. the belief that Jesus is God, in attempting to save himself from drowning… but yet he ignores the lifebuoy i.e. the belief in the things that Jesus actually says in the Bible, which has been thrown right in front of him in the water.

At the Table in the Upper-room where Jesus and his disciples were having the “Last Supper”, he prepares the disciples for the impending showdown with those who wanted to harm them.

"When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything?" And they said, “Nothing” Then said he unto them, “But now, he that hath no purse, let him take it, and likewise his bag; and he that hath no SWORD, let him sell his garment and buy one!”Luke 22:35-36

". . . Lord, behold, here are two SWORDS." And he said unto them, “It is enough”Luke 22:38

This is a clear and obvious preparation for ‘Jihad’ by Jesus (pbuh) and his disciples.

"And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his SWORD, and struck a servant of the high priests, and cut off his ear."Matthew 26:51

The Christian missionary, so as to retain the impression of the “meek and gentle Jesus”, “the Prince of Peace”, pleads that the SWORDS were spiritual! If the swords were spiritual, then the “garments” must also be spiritual. If the disciples of Jesus were to sell their SPIRITUAL garments to buy SPIRITUAL swords, in that case they would all become SPIRITUALLY naked!Furthermore, one does not lop off peoples physical ears with spiritual swords.
You are a real piece of work! Your thread has so many holes in it and so many mis-interpretations and so many texts taken out of context that it boggles the mind.
It doesn’t surprise me that you would look at these passages and pattern them after the “jihad prone” faith that you profess.
You cannot percieve the Peace of God in these passages because you cannot see God in Jesus. That is really where all your …baloney - comes from. Jesus Christ, the Lord and God of all is your stumbling block!!
That is why you babble and regurgitate the nonsense that you do.
You and all Muslims will see this Jesus return in full glory some day and then - the real “peace loving” muslim will convert to catholicism, while the pseudo-peace loving muslims will meet with His justice.

Inevitable!!!

Actually Ham, I would like to thank you. Because of your efforts on this thread I have been renewed by the zeal and courage of the responses to you. Reading the responses on this thread has inspired me to become more courageous in defending my faith in the real world around me.
So, again thank you and I ask God’s blessings for you that one day you will come to see the real truth of Jesus Christ, before it is too late for you and all Muslims. 😦

Hama2chan:

Some interesting things I found about the view of Jesus in Islam.
In Muslim traditions, Jesus lived a perfect life of nonviolence, showing kindness to humans and animals (similar to the other Islamic prophets), without material possessions, and abstaining from sin.
That shoots down your sword theory by your own very traditions.😉
Muslims believe that Jesus received a gospel from God called the Injil in Arabic that corresponds to the Christian New Testament, but that parts of it have been misinterpreted over time so that they no longer accurately represent God’s message
Yet Jesus spoke Aramaic or Latin, and the Gospels (or formations for the gospels) were written in Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic but not Arabic???🤷 You’d think there would be indications of the Gospels being written in Arabic. Or for that matter, you’d think that maybe the Gospels would have been written in the language of the time rather than a dirivative. Go figure:rolleyes:
Muslims also do not believe in Jesus’ sacrificial role, and the Qur’an, as commonly understood, states that Jesus was not killed on the cross
. Unfourtunately this is very well documented by secular sources. Even people who are atheists concede that indeed there was a man named Jesus who was hung on a cross. The dispute lies in His divinity. This is a lot like Iran denying the Holocaust took place. If things are inconvienent, simply wipe them from history and replace it with whatever you want.
Some traditions say Christ was replaced by a double, and according to others it was Simon of Cyrene or one of the Apostles (Judas).
:rotfl: I remember a Jean Claude Van Dam movie that had a similiar plot dealing with doubles. Unfourtunately neither Jean Claude nor his double could act:thumbsup:

But when we look at this with the seriousness of a Muslim scholar we find the most compelling evidence of a double fooling the entire world to come from the Island of Japan:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...ad.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cb/Wario2.jpg
So much alike it’s truly scary.

Maybe it wasn’t Mario who saved the Princess but Wario instead??? Maybe it wasn’t Christ on the Cross but Judas or Simon or Dan, Steve, Ace, Gary??

Maybe it was even Wario fooling us all!!!

Oh, come on, please don’t get me started on the punishment for apostasy as written in the Bible.
That’s it!! Hambo, go to Mary, Mother of God and she will lead you to the Way, the Truth and the Life…Jesus!!!

And what the heck is pbuh???

Fellow Christians I want to make one more comment here.
The person “Hamba” is clearly trying to provoke and draw us into a game of debasement and lowering ourselves to an undignified level. I’d recommend not caving into the temptation and the urge to stoop to an undignified level here. I remind myself of this too.

To Hamba’s credit he has been very disciplined to not make any personal attacks on anyone here. His objective is to provoke and to consume a part of your life (which is an act of theft). It’s a form of entertainment extending from smug pride and hubris.

It would be more productive to state simple truths and use the rest of the saved time to pray for people like him. Perhaps we can eventually gain a brother in Christ since we already know that none can come to God except through Jesus. It takes more than just following a “good” moral code.

This will give an opportunity for God to operate to make something good come out of something misdirected and insincere and disingenuous. It also removes the excuse that “he never had a chance to know the truth”. Now that he knows the truth and has scorned it - the matter is between him and God and the state of his soul when they meet for final judgement.

Peace,
James

Woo Hooo!! Here’s to Hambo…defender of catholicism and a potential “closet christian”. 😃

Seriously guys, yes Hambo is just trying to get a rise out of everyone here. He isn’t open to discussion at all.

Instead of replying to his troll-posts, it would be much more productive to say a Hail Mary for him each time you see him post. (don’t bother to announce it, just DO it)
