Muhammad or Jesus: The Prophet Like Unto Moses

“The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.” — Deuteronomy 18:15

For Islam to be a religion, Muhammad must be a prophet of God. The message of Muhammad as recorded in the Koran is the foundation of Islam. This is seen in the confession to be a Muslim. This is called the Sha-hadatain. The second part of the Shahadatain follows: “… that Muhammad is His messenger to all human beings till the Day of Judgment.”

By Messenger, the Koran means prophet. According to Islam, he is the final prophet or seal of the prophets: “Muhammad… [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things” (Sura 33:40).

Islam teaches not only is Muhammad the seal of the prophets but he is the greatest of the prophets. He is equal to or greater than Moses. Islam believes that Muhammad is the special prophet the Bible mentions will be like Moses. This verse from the Bible follows: “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him” (Deut. 18:18).

The Koran states that Muhammad is the Prophet who will be like unto Moses. Muhammad came with the final message which everyone has to obey: “Say: I am not the first of the apostles, and I do not know what will be done with me or with you: I do not follow anything but that which is revealed to me, and I am nothing but a plain warner. Say: Have you considered if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the children of Israel has borne witness of one like him, so he believed, while you are big with pride; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people” (Sura 46:9-10).

What It Means To Be Prophet Like Unto Moses

There are five outstanding characteristics that have to be met. The Bible teaches that Moses is different than all the other Old Testament prophets. To be the prophet like Moses of Deuteronomy 18, these five characteristics have to be met. These requirements follow:
  1. God spoke directly to Moses. All other prophets received their revelation by visions or dreams. Moses’ revelation was directly from the mouth of God. “And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” (Num. 12:6-8).
  2. Moses was in the direct presence of God. He saw the similitude or form of the LORD. Moses glowed from being in direct presence of God’s glory. “And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him” (Exod. 34:29-30).
Next page…

  1. Moses brought in a blood covenant relationship with God. The other prophets built upon this covenant, but no other Old Testament prophet brought in a different covenant. “And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words. Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God
of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness” (Exod. 24:8-10).
  2. Moses did mighty signs and wonders. God used Moses to split the Red Sea. " And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left" (Exod. 14:21-22).
  3. Moses prophesied of the future. Moses gave entire chapters of prophecy. His prophecy centered on the people and nation of Israel. “Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. … And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD” (Lev. 26:42,44-45).
  4. The prophet has to be a Jew. The Prophet like Moses will have to come from one of the tribes of Israel. The context of Deutromony 18 makes it clear that the brethren means someone from one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Deuteronomy 18:1,2,7,15 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel… 2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them. 7 Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the LORD. 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
The Test of Muhammad as the Prophet Like unto Moses
Using the five criteria of Moses being a special prophet, let’s test the Muslim’s claim that Muhammad is the special prophet like Moses which the Koran claims.

continued…
  1. God spoke directly with Moses. Muhammad fails because the Koran shows he received his message from an angel. “Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation” (Sura 77:5). “Say: Whoever is the enemy of Jibreel— for surely he revealed it to your heart by Allah’s command, verifying that which is before it and guidance and good news for the believers” (Sura 2:97).
  2. The Koran never reported that Muhammad was literally in the direct presence of God.
  3. Muhammad never brought in a blood covenant with God, but his message went directly against the revealed word of God. Muhammad denied the basis for the New Testament covenant which is the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross. “And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa (Jesus) son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so” (Sura 4:157).
  4. The Koran reports no signs and wonders of Muhammad.
  5. Muhammad made no prophecies in the Koran. The Muslims call Sura 30 the Great Prophecy: This Sura is often used as proof Muhammad was a prophet. “The Romans are vanquished, In a near land, and they, after being vanquished, shall overcome, Within a few years. Allah’s is the command before and after; and on that day the believers shall rejoice” (Sura 30:2-4).
Sura 30 is not a valid prophecy: The Romans, who were the Byzantines, were always at war. A near land is not identified. The location to judge the near land is not identified in the Koran. Is it Jerusalem, Mecca, or Medina etc.? What is a few years? No date is give for this prophecy so within a few years can be identified. The fulfillment is not recorded in the Koran. It is impossible to verify that Sura 30:2-4 is a valid prophecy.
  1. Muhammad was not a Jew. This just by itself eliminates Muhammad from being the Prophet of Deuteronomy 18:18.

Muhammad fails the test of prophet in general and specifically he is not the prophet like unto Moses. Therefore his message as written in the Koran is to be totally rejected. He cannot be classified as a prophet because he made no prophecy which could be tested. The Muslim’s claim that Muhammad is the seal of the prophets has no authority as there is no proof in the Koran that Muhammad was a true prophet of God.

The Lord Jesus Meets the Criteria To Be the Prophet Like Unto Moses

The Bible says that the Lord Jesus is the Prophet like unto Moses. "And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: . . . For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people (Acts 3:20,22-23).
  1. God spoke directly to Moses. God spoke directly through the Lord Jesus. “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:10).
  2. Moses was in the direct presence of God and glowed from God’s presence. Jesus was the direct presence of God, and He manifested the glory of God! “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light” (Matt. 17:1-2).
  3. Moses brought in a blood covenant relationship with God. The Lord Jesus brought in a better blood covenant with God. The better covenant gives the assurance of eternal life to all that believe. “For this is my blood of the new testament [covenant],
which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matt. 26:28). “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises” (Heb. 8:6).
  4. Moses did mighty signs and wonders. Jesus did mighty signs and wonders. The Lord Jesus raised a man from the dead after he was four days in the grave. The Bible reported only a few of the awesome miracles that the Lord Jesus did. These miracles were a sign of Him being the Son of God. “Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. … And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go” (John 11:39,43-44).
  5. Moses prophesied of the future, as did Jesus. Like Moses, the Lord Jesus focused His prophecy on the Jews and their dispersion and restoration. The restoration of Israel and Jerusalem would occur just before His second coming. Just as the Lord prophesied, exactly happened to the Jews. Israel is once again a nation with Jerusalem as its capital. “And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? . . . But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land [Israel], and wrath upon this people [Jews]. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:7,23-24).
  6. Moses was a Jew and the Lord Jesus was a Jew.
Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The Lord Jesus qualifies to be the Prophet because He is the Son of David from the tribe of Judah.
The Lord Jesus not only met the requirements of being the Prophet like unto Moses, but he exceeded them in all points. Moses was the servant of God, but the Lord Jesus was the Son of God; therefore, He was greater than Moses. “[Christ] Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. . . . And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; But Christ as a son over his own house …” (Heb. 3:2-3,5-6).

We waste time debating with moslems. They serve a false prophet, a false god and a false religion. Full stop. We are fighting this false religion even now, and one day the world will realize that Islam is a threat to the very survival of mankind. This false religion is being used by Satan himself for the subjugation of the human race. Pray the rosary for the triumph of Christianity.

Time is not wasted when muslim’s need salvation that is only found in Christ. Islam is not only a threat. It is the prophecied evil religion of the last days and the religion of the two horned beast of Revelation. Muslim’s who do not “get out of her” will be the recipient of the plagues mentioned in Revelation.

Maybe so, but you yourself certainly haven’t seen the prophet Muhammad with your own eyes, have you? Therefore, how are you so sure that all the accounts of Muhammad’s deeds and words are thoroughly faithful to what he actually did and said? How are you so sure none of the writers embellished the truth so as to add some things on their own (even in the case when they would want to make a point), a bit like some scenes from the movie Jesus of Nazareth which sound faithful to the spirit of the Gospel even though those scenes are not quite in the Gospel the way they are shown… you see what I mean?
God bless you.
In Islam, we have isnad i.e. the chain of reporters which enables the sayings or actions of either the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) or any of his companions to be accurately and reliably traced in every part of the narration all the way up to the original source of the narration.

Islam is the ONLY religion which has isnad and there is a Science of Hadith which classifies all of the countless thousands of collected ahahith into categories depending on the strength and quality of each hadith – sound, reliable, weak or fabricated.

A hadith (pl. ahadith) is composed of two parts: the matn (text) and the isnad (chain of reporters). A text may seem to be logical and reasonable but it needs an authentic isnad with reliable reporters to be acceptable; 'Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak (d. 181 AH), one of the illustrious teachers of Imam al-Bukhari, said,

"The isnad is part of the religion: had it not been for the isnad, whoever wished to would have said whatever he liked"

Suppose that someone claims that one of the apostles said so and so about something that Jesus (pbuh) might have said and did, can any Christian scholar then provide a chain of narration which traces precisely how this narration was transmitted from the person who finally wrote it down all the way up to the person who heard either what the said apostle said or what Jesus (pbuh) himself said?

In Islam, Muslim scholars can indeed provide this precise chain of narration regarding not only what exactly did the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) say but also the name and personal character of every person along this chain of narration who reported this narration until it was compiled in a book of Hadiths.

This is what is termed isnad and you can learn a bit more on ‘isnad’ and the ‘Science of Hadith’ at Wikipedia.

Does not do you any good. You are only playing by the rule you make. It does not prove anything. More importantly the present Quran is not original, though this may shock you, but nevertheless it is true. The present Quran is not the original.

And I’m going to say the Hail Mary now.

Hail Mary full of grace …

It is now a time in history where it is especially every Christian’s duty to now enjoin our prayers with Mary’s co-mission to crush all heresies. God has given Mary the special role to be the one who’s original cooperation with God (in conceiving Jesus) will be rewarded with heavenly glory in permitting her to again cooperate with God to obliterate and put down all heresies of religion and God’s truth.

This is what was originally revealed by the prophets in Genesis:

Genesis 3:15 said:
I will put enmity between you (Satan) and the woman (Eve’s descendants - Mary is the new restored to grace Eve), and between your offspring (those damned and fallen from grace humans who embrace Satan’s lies) and hers (Jesus as both God’s Son and as the new Adam with His redeemed and restored to grace human Christian family); he (Jesus on the cross) will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel."

This verse foretold all that vividly happened and is now almost completed. Satan struck at Jesus on the cross and in so doing fulfilled God’s Holy word. Jesus in that obedient act to God on the cross crushed Satan’s head. Jesus overcome death by rising from the dead and bringing humanity God’s grace to transform fallen-from-grace humans back to full-grace with God. Jesus removed the sting from death by being resurrected and proved that the soul is immortal and that the body too will be transformed in a way that makes it pure and incorruptible. We are literally a new creation and literally going to be God’s children conceived by the spirit of God just as Jesus was! My God I can’t believe people are not screaming in Joy over what God has done for us! Thus Mary’s offspring destroys Satan’s power forever by crushing all lies in the vile temple of Satan (Satan’s head) with God’s truth; the truth that annihilates all lies.

Thus in this Christmas season we need also to be profoundly joyful and recollect the scriptures glorious truth:

Luke 2:10 said:
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.

Luke 2:13-14 said:
**And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” **

Humans are redeemed onto God and are restored through Jesus to God’s favor and grace!! Joy Joy Joy! This is an exciting time to be a human! We are no longer slaves to God - he calls us to be no less than His Children!! Who could have imagined God could be so wonderful, loving and forgiving after we disobeyed Him in Eden? Glory to God!

All that is left to do now is sweep up the small and minor devils and corrupt offspring and the heretical teachings. These devilish lies are still running around the earth in fear. They know their time is almost over and they want to hurt God a little bit more by trying to hurt His children. But they are too stupid to know the decisive battle was already won 2000 years ago by Jesus on the cross.

Mary has a very special spiritual role that is nearing fruition. God has given Her a special mission to obliterate and crush all heresies of religion. So pray the rosary. Join confraternities (The CONFRATERNITY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY) to leverage spiritual force. Mary was instrumental in defeating Communism through prayer. Now its time to take out the false religions and get these people to renounce them and converted to the truth so they too can become our brothers and sisters. Then we can get heaven established here on earth and get onto much bigger and better things. Amen.

James

hamba2han;3078223]No, I am most definitely not a scholar and neither are the extreme majority of Muslims… but it really does not matter much because there is only ONE way to interpret the Qur’an that is acceptable in Islam.
This is one of the failings of Islam in comparrison to Christainity. Christain Scholars have spent generations in study of the Bible and it shows from these forums:thumbsup:
Think of the Qur’an as the map to guide us in the journey of life and think of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as the legend by which to correctly read this map.
Mohamed used to correctly read the map? A man who spread the perfect religion by force is the guide?
The Prophet (pbuh) did not really need to “explain” every aspect of the Qur’an because his companions as well as his family members used to watch him really closely in practically everything he did.
And watched him kill and enslave??? I see your point but that makes me even more concerned because that can be used to justify so many things. “Well Mohammed did it”
The hadeeth of Ayesha (ra) states that – “He i.e. Muhammad (pbuh) was a living Qur’an”… and this means that his way of teaching the early Muslims was to act and live according to the Qur’an and then others would watch him and do the same.
So Mohammed was a living Quaran and his killing and enslaving almost at will would be a representation of the Quaran???
Just as we should never be foolish enough to try to read a map without referring to the accompanying legend, then only a fool will attempt to interpret the Qur’an in a way which is different than how the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) himself followed the teachings of the Qur’an.
Kill, enslave, persecute…these are a few of his favorite things…
And so, it is the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who is the ultimate authority on the Qur’an and it is his Sunnah that Muslims refer to in oder to get the most accurate interpretation of the Qur’an possible.
Why write a book and then a book to interpret the book??? That’s like me writing a novel and then another novel explaining how you should read my first novel.
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in his Final Sermon said:
I leave behind two things, if you hold fast unto them you shall never go astray: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.
I think it is very evident that Muslims will never go astray if the stick to Mohammed’s teaching. What path they are following is another matter.
After the Prophet completed this Sermon near the summit of Arafah, the revelation came down:
"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My Grace upon you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion." … (Al Qur’an: Surah Al-Maeda :3)
This is where it gets a bit fuzzy. If Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet and Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and thus commited blasphemy, how can Jesus be a prophet to begin with? Why would Christ create Christainity only to have it replaced with Islam?
Bearing in mind that Islam is the finished product to cap all that has been revealed since the dawn of humankind, then to say that what the Creator Himself has deemed a perfect religion would need to be interpreted differently in order to suit the changing times, simply does not make much sense at all.
Good to know that a perfect religion lets you kill and persecuted those who do not believe as you do.👍 If this is perfect I would choose imperfect everyday of the week.
After all, if the needs and desires of His creations have not changed one iota since 1,400 years ago, then is there a valid reason why the divine Laws that the Creator has commanded His creations to obey back then need to be interpreted differently today?
That is a contradiction in of itself which is demonstarted by the world in which we live in. You can turn on the tv and in two seconds see how humanity has changed.
My sincere apologies, it is just that there are often far too many issues being raised for me to address… and many of them are not really related to the topic of this thread.
Welcome to the world of theological discussion:)

However, for those who really do wish to learn and ask questions about Islam, then I would suggest that it would be far better for you to pursue this in a more appropriate forum than here.
This is a kind offer but I doubt very much if you will see too many people come to a forum about Islam if very basic questions are not answered on this one.
I therefore wish to invite all who are interested in learning and asking questions about Islam to participate at the Muslim forum that I often visit where God-willing, you will be able to engage in meaningful dialogue with and obtain a lot more info from many other Muslims there than from just the few Muslims here.
Kindly register and introduce yourself at this forum and then ask all the questions on matters related to Islam that you wish… or even post stuff about the Catholic faith… and God-willing, it would be of mutual benefit to you and all the forum members there as well.
It’s alot like driving a BMW, once you drive the best you will never settle for anything else. Why trade in your BMW for a horse and buggy?😉

How are you so sure that Islam is the ONLY RELIGION to have a succession of isnad? It seems to me, from how you describe who they are, that Judaism and Christianity DO have them too!!!
As for the matn (text)… well, the Hebrew Bible and the Septuagint Bible seem to be O.K. as far as their canonicity goes, and so does the New Testament. In Judaism, the Talmud seems to have been done by Jewish isnad, although I confess that some parts, not a huge part though, seems to have written in order to discourage any Jew to turn to Christianity which was seen as a heresy and even idolatry. They also have had many commentators over the centuries who developed their texts after the teachings of the Talmud. You may find an example of it in Chaim Potok’s novel The Chosen.
Now, Christianity also has its isnad, and they too have ways to tell heresies from the authentic, believe it or not. Not everybody will believe those who come out with authentic teaching, among them the popes, when their teaching is about the Faith and the way Christians should live in order to be in tune with God, preparing them for being admitted to Eternal Life. 🙂 👍
Moses had opposition even among the Israelites; Peter, chosen by Jesus to be the spiritual leader (among the Apostles), and all the popes after him, have consistently met opposition on many aspects of the teaching, which have been consistently kept ever since each of them were developed and adopted. I will add that ALL of the popes’ teachings come from the Word of God, not only the New Testament, but the Old too (the Hebrew Bible plus the Deuterocanonical-the texts found in the Septuagint Bible but not in the Hebrew Bible from the Jerusalem canon).
Did Muhammad ever had opposition from the insiders themselves and their successors:) ? It would seem peculiar and… suspicious that the God who commended His people not to commit murder would allow His followers to murder their opponents when the opposition remain persistent, wouldn’t it? And what about forgiveness as examples of it are found in the Old Testament AS WELL AS in the New? Does God not love the individuals even BEFORE they have renounced their sins? In the book of a prophet (I am not sure which, it might be Isiah or Ezechiel or another), God says He doesn’t want death to the sinner, but that the sinner change his (or her) ways and live!

hamba2han;3078669]No, it is not because it does not make any sense at all for God to order any of His creations to be slain on Judgment Day… on account that all of the creations have not only already died but have also been resurrected on that Day to face Judgment.
Christians need to read and analyse their Bible in order to identify the person who ordered the slaying.
First and foremost, and this is very important: there are thousands upon thousands of Christain texts that can answer any question you have. Many of them do not just use religion as a basis, but logic and reason as well.
Jesus (pbuh) made his triumphant royal entry into Jerusalem at the head of an excited and enthusiastic following, with high hopes of establishing the “Kingdom of God” any minute; riding a donkey to fulfill prophecy (Zechariah 9:9) –
The people at the time did not quite understand that Jesus was not here to establish a kingdom on earth. It is understandable that they wished such a thing because of the brutality they expereinced in their daily lives. "Jesus said (to Pontius Pilate), “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” (John 18:36)
B]Tell ye the daughter of Zion, behold, thy KING cometh. . .
sitting upon an ***. . .
And a great multitude spread their garments. . .
and branches in the way. . .
and the multitude cried, saying,
“Hosanna to the SON OF DAVID. . .
Hosanna in the highest . . .”
Matthew 21:5-9 The people did not understand yet what Christ meant, only after he died did they truly come to know. "When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:54)
". . . because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should IMMEDIATELY appear"Luke 19:11
They did not understand that His kingdom was not of this world. We even find that many of Jesus disciples thought He would return within their lifetimes. It took them awhile before they all understoof what Jesus had meant.
"But those mine enemies, who would not that I should REIGN over them, bring them hither, and SLAY them before me"Luke 19:27.

This is Jesus telling a story. If you read more of the same passage it become very obvious what He is trying to say.
. . . Blessed be the KING who cometh in the name of the Lord.Luke 19:38.
If Christ is the Son of God, then truly He is a king.
And so, again I ask, is this person who ordered his enemies who refuse to accept his reign to be slain, good or evil?
You can not take quotes out of context to try and prove your point. Soon as you read the entire passage it become clear that there is more to it then what you quoted. I could take bits and pieces from the Quaran out of context and make it look like a cook book.👍

No, it is not because

yes it is because that’s what the passage says. Quote the whole passage and let us see what it says. As usual, you comment before even reading the text.

After you read that it is a PARABLE, google it and see how a parable must be read.

Amen.

How are you so sure that Islam is the ONLY RELIGION to have a succession of isnad?
Suppose that someone claims that one of the apostles said so and so about something that Jesus (pbuh) might have said and did, can any Christian scholar then provide a chain of narration which traces precisely how this narration was transmitted from the person who finally wrote it down all the way up to the person who heard either what the said apostle said or what Jesus (pbuh) himself said?

It is simply not possible for any Christian scholar to do this because no such chain of narrations exists for the sayings of Jesus (pbuh) nor that of his disciples.

And in Judaism, isnad only started to be used during the Talmudic period i.e. 200-500 CE and it could indeed be that this method of authentication by isnad was introduced by the Jews who reverted to Islam.

The rosary also helped us to win the Battle of Lepanto!

of course we can.
OK then, can you kindly provide the isnad concerning the time when Jesus (pbuh) allegedly “miraculously” turned water into wine at the ‘Wedding of Cana’?

I do not believe that you have a clue what the term isnad really means.

To remedy this, you can read ‘isnad’ and the ‘Science of Hadith’ at Wikipedia.

Thanks Vickie - the blessings, promises and indulgences given by the confraternity are profound spiritual treasures that every Catholic should partake of. We are assured not only the merits of the co-fraternity in daily indulgences and guarantees for final contrition but also get the entire heavenly court to add to our prayers for our personal benefit as well as the intentions of Mary.

Good decision!

James
