Can anyone recommend a good book for proof that Jesus is divine? Looking for my 26 year old son

“Fully Human, Fully Divine” by Michael Casey would fit the bill, too…

Yes.
The Bible. Colossians, for example…

“He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent. For in him all the fulness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”
  • St Paul, Col 1
Praised be Jesus Christ. Now and forever.

Spending time with Christ in His sacramental presence at Adoration is all the ‘proof’ he will need. He can read the book there, but words fail to convince. Adoration is far more than convincing - it is convicting - and when he receives the consolation of the Holy Spirit, and is made aware that Christ is there, he will be changed.

.

You leave a lot of questions unanswered so I have to speculate

1st I urge you to pray and make sacrifice to God for your son

The intellectual data is easy enough to provide. See below. However I suspect the most serious battle is going to be the spiritual one. See this website that shows how satan and his Kingdom is battling against God’s Kingdom

Satan Has Dominion Over this World, But God Has Better Plan

Make sure he understands the doctrine of Original Sin and how because of it we all have a darkened intellect, a weakened will , and concupiscence.

Therefore we need to seek to acquire the virtues of humility the mother of all virtues and obedience. The sin of pride caused Satan ,the angel of light, to fall and it will Undoubtedly be our downfall as well if we let it. We need to pray for God’s graceTo overcome the attack of the world and satan.

Help him to recognize possible temptations like the conclusion that Jesus is not God. - allows people to mistakenly think - that certain sins are now acceptable…

Since He probably does not recognize everything that is a sin stress the wisdom of choosing the wisest course and abstaining from anything that might be Sin.

Would he jeopardizing a great material good? Then why risk the salvation of his soul which is greater.

Ask him who loves him the most. After he answers suggest the criteria that he who makes the greatest sacrifice for his greatest good Loves him the best. Ask him what is his greatest good. After he answers say salvation from sin and happiness in heaven.

Thank you everyone for suggestions. All very helpful. A friend of his recommended the case for Christ by Lee Strobel. What have guys heard about that?

Sure. And it is a good suggestion. Strobel i turns finding out the truth of Christ into a kind of mystery story. He starts off from the unbelieving position and wonders if he can find out if Christ existed, was God, so on.

I think a lot of people would read this from cover to cover just because the books is so snappy, entertaining and enthusiastic,.

Strobel is a Protestant, but I can’t remember anything that would make a Catholic uncomfortable.

Anyone else have a different take?
