There ya go again…
Mike, it’s an impeachment. it will be written about for hundreds of years.I think what you meant to say is that a significant portion of the Senate will not dignify this charade with the appearance of propriety.
That’s the Senate’s prerogative. It isn’t a trial in the judicial sense. They have as much latitude in convicting or not as the House has in impeaching or not. As I have said before, this is a political process, not a judicial one.Even with that Trump doesn’t have to disprove the allegations. It is up to the Senate to prove the articles are true or not true.
I’m assuming in this particular case, the President is simply going to be acquitted. And once again I acknowledge that. It still falls on the accusers to prove the accusations, not the accused to disprove them.
There’s no defense because no defense is necessary given the poor evidence the Dems concocted to make their charge. They didn’t prove anything and they know it. They know the evidence in the testimonies, (Not the presumptions) does not rise to any sort of successful prosecution of their charge. Hence their actions now to surround this circus as cover for themselves and their regrettable charade.I think there is on the obstruction charge. More and more is coming out on the first charge of abuse. It’s why the Senate doesn’t want witnesses or testimony. There is no defense.
GREAT! Have a trial with the witnesses that the House had, let the House make it’s case, and vote. There’s no defense because no defense is necessary given the poor evidence the Dems concocted to make their charge. They didn’t prove anything and they know it.
I don’t think that is true at all. Why do the majority of Americans think the evidence shows Trump should be removed?Hence their actions now to surround this circus as cover for themselves and their regrettable charade.
Absolutely! But Pelosi won’t hand them the Articles for that to happen and endure a disastrous embarrassment.GREAT! Have a trial with the witnesses that the House had, let the House make it’s case, and vote.
Yah we’ve seen how accurate polls are, particularly ones that are heavily left leaning… Enough polls on other fronts that show the opposite. Big deal, but that’s not the point. Maybe Pelosi will have the guts to actually turn over the Articles to the Senate and let the Senate disperse the hearsay and let the testimony that clearly says there was nothing wrong stand alone. But she does want the Senate to clean the murky waters that Schiff polluted with his iniquitous hearings…I don’t think that is true at all. Why do the majority of Americans think the evidence shows Trump should be removed?
Because Mitch won’t let it happen. He’s already said how he’s voting, he’s said he won’t allow witnesses, he wan’t to totally rig it. Pelosi is waiting for Mitch to do his constitutional duty.Absolutely! But Pelosi won’t hand them the Articles for that to happen and endure a disastrous embarrassment.
What in the world did Schiff do that was wrong? It is the administration witnesses who refuse to testify.. But she does want the Senate to clean the murky waters that Schiff polluted with his iniquitous hearings…
Hahaha. Okay. You believe what you want. I don’t find your arguments persuasive, so don’t waste your time. It’s pointless Paul, I’m exhausted trying to explain it over and over. Believe what you want…
Mainly because a many of those Americans let the msm media do their thinking for them. They believe everything they see on CNN, MSNBC, ACB, or read in the WaPo, NYT, and other liberal papers/magazines.Why do the majority of Americans think the evidence shows Trump should be removed?
From the Washington PostBecause Mitch won’t let it happen. He’s already said how he’s voting, he’s said he won’t allow witnesses, he wan’t to totally rig it. Pelosi is waiting for Mitch to do his constitutional duty.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that Republicans have enough votes to proceed with President Trump’s impeachment trial with no agreement with Democrats on witnesses.
The announcement came as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) faced increasing pressure to send articles of impeachment to the Senate, including from some in her own party, to allow a trial to begin. Pelosi has held on to the documents as Democrats seek guarantees about the scope of a trial, including witnesses.
The validity of the articles are already established? Are you sure about that?Horton:![]()
Since the validity of the articles is already established, the Senate should be required to boot him out. The problem is that an unfortunate portion of the Senate already declared that they will perjure themselves by violating their required oath. So, next to Trump, those Senators should be booted out as well. Let the voters remember: “liars and perjurors” have no place in the Senate.Even with that Trump doesn’t have to disprove the allegations. It is up to the Senate to prove the articles are true or not true.
As a foreigner, thus not being invested one way or the other in Democrats or Republicans, I gotta say Trump sure looks to have done the wrong thing…There is no hard evidence any law had been broken. The democrats are trying to
convince the American public that Trump did something wrong, but they haven’t been very convincing.
So, only trust Fox and Breitbart?Mainly because a many of those Americans let the msm media do their thinking for them. They believe everything they see on CNN, MSNBC, ACB, or read in the WaPo, NYT, and other liberal papers/magazines
Please elaborate on this. What is the wrong thing that Trump has done?Trump sure looks to have done the wrong thing…
The parade of mind readers? Sorry, but the democrats could not articulate specifically what the president did that was wrong, nor were any of the witnesses able to point to any action or statement to support the accusations (they don’t rise to the level of charges).Goodness, the public testimony alone was enough.
