They asked for the testimony they seek at trial. TRUMP BLANKET DENIED IT. NEVER ASSERTED EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE AT ALL.

Depends; were they planning for three years to have him cheat on his wife in the Oval Office with a 22-year old intern, then lie about it under oath? if so, then yes.

Meletzerboy is about the only one who fits that mold, that I can recall. he’s a solid poster.

His campaign was rightfully under investigation according to Horrowitz. And the first FISA WARRANT was issued two weeks before the vote secretly. Any issues that the second and third were not warranted was after Trump took office. And the guy in surveillance had been fired by Trump months earlier. He wasn’t a Trump campaign employee at the time.

Nobody voted for him after America knew about Monica AND HE WAS IMPEACHED.

Why get rid of the ambassador who was against corruption?

Why ok Aid to Ukraine before, but then when Biden is doing well in the polls hold the aid?

What is Giuliani’s roll and why is his irregular channel to Ukraine necessary?

Obama was out of office when Trump personally, was being investigated.
Actually, that isn’t true. The Steele Dossier allegations were being investigated by the FBI (agent Michael Gaeta) as early as July of 2016. Despite that everything in the dossier was proved to be unverifiable, it was still used as the sole justification for the FISA warrant and renewals before (August, October 2016 - Carter Page) and after (Jan, Apr and Jun 2017) Trump was elected, and as justification for the Mueller Special Counsel; which, as it turned out, had no proper warrant.

The articles can remain the same. Evidence can be still gathered and presented to the Senate.

And there is no double jeopardy. The senators all should commit to hearing all of the evidence.

so as to invite foreign help in elections
That’s the Dems spin on what happened. What actually happened had to do with investigating corruption and has nothing to do with an election. It just so happens the person being investigated is a political opponent but that doesn’t make Biden above the law. He’s not off limits if there is reason to believe he may have done something wrong. It’s within the President’s capacity to ask for an investigation.
And that’s what the State Department and the Department of Justice are for. The President is not empowered to send off his private attorney to, allegedly, fight crime in Eastern Europe. In fact, the fact that the DoJ and the State Department were not involved in investigating allegations of corruption against Biden makes the entire premise rather suspect. It’s like the Mayor getting his buddy with underworld contacts to investigate a guy gunning for his job in the next election, rather than picking up the phone and calling the Chief of Police or the FBI.

Biden is not from Ukraine. He’s from the US.

Was he supposed to extradited to Ukraine?

What is Giuliani for? Who hired him? Who vetted him? He doesn’t work for the US.

Such a good point. After all Barr isn’t enough of a sure thing for Trump as a proper channel? They didn’t investigate Biden for two previous years. Only after Biden was the frontrunner.

True, he did not run for a third term in 2000. Good point. Though at least Clinton got acquited in the Senate vote. Poor Trump can’t even get a vote!

Looking forward to a Trump victory in the fall! MAGA!

Mueller came on the heels of firing Comey and going on TV and saying over Russia( Trump identified himself actually).
And
Inviting Russians into the Whitehouse and telling them firing Comey took the " RUSSIAN ISSUE" PRESSURE OFF HIM.
ROSENSTEIN ( A TRUMP NOMINEE CONFIRMED BY A GOP SENATE) hired Mueller. Obama was long retired.
The first FISA WARRANT was obtained a few weeks before the election in November. It yielded what that implicated Trump?

Gore likely lost because of impeachment of Clinton. So I look forward also. But since we have no crystal ball, Trump has a slight majority of Americans who want him impeached WHILE CLINTON was at 73% in the polls THE DAY he was impeached. So I feel this is a better political issue for Democrats. Especially with news like today with actual memos saying TRUMP ordered the freeze on funds, even though potentially elected, less than 24 hours after the call in July 25th.
Now
What Reason for the lifting of freeze?
Trump going to show some verification of Curruption progress?
Looks like Dems are locking down the WHISLEBLOWER report as the reason the freeze was lifted. Nothing but currupt intent here!

Who is “they?” You mean the Ukrainian prosecutor who started looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden when Joe was VP? An investigation stopped by Biden’s quid pro quo with the then Ukrainian president?

It isn’t even clear that Biden is the frontrunner currently since he is doing everything in his power to undermine his electability.

Besides, we might point out that Trump was not being “investigated” or targeted by the FBI until after he was the clear frontrunner.

I am all for transparency all around. Mueller proved after two years of investigating that Trump wasn’t guilty of collusion. We now need a two year investigation into the FBI, DOJ, State Dept. and the Obama administration including Biden. We’ll see what Barr turns up.

Dems do it quite often.
So you say.
It would in fact change the rules as written, which discuss the time at which the trial is to commence.
You might consider having a look at the rules.

I suggest that you have another look at the definition of that word that you misuse so often.
Wiki
Prooftexting (sometimes " proof - texting " or " proof texting ") is the practice of using isolated, out-of-context quotations from a document to establish a proposition

The only comparable situation was the impeachment and trial of Andrew Johnson, and while he survived the Senate trial, his political career was destroyed. But Johnson was so completely disliked by the Republicans (being that he was a Democrat), and not really even liked by the Democrats, that we cannot be sure that his political career wasn’t finished the second Booth’s bullet entered Lincoln’s skull.

Impeachment of a President is so rare that we cannot predict what it will do to Trump. I’m of a mind that it won’t change a single thing. His supporters will support him, his opponents will oppose him, and he’ll either win by the same knife’s edge in the battleground states or lose because he fell on the wrong side of the statistical margin of error.

The FISA warrant was a pretext to target Michael Flynn who knew too much about the Obama administration’s corruption.

The FBI knew Carter Page was working as a CIA asset and intentionally kept that little tidbit from the FISA judge in order to obtain the ability to surveil Flynn as part of the Trump campaign, citing Page’s connections with Russia. The FISA warrant on Carter Page permitted the FBI to surveil his “associates,”
including Flynn, as part of the Trump campaign.
