Then why do they not get on with it?
Because they realize they “wiffed” the ball.

They’ve been digging for over three years and still can’t get a base hit, let alone hit a home run.

That’s a good one. Kinda like the AHC bill. We need to pass the bill to see what is in it.

Democrats know if they can bring a full trial before the public it will damage Trump and GOP
Right. Just like the Muller Report and the Muller public testimony that went over like a lead balloon. The Dems keeps leading their base around by the nose with promise of the next big bombshell that will finally finish him.

They’re impeaching him in part because they feel he abused his office and in part for political advantage.

Because Trump should face it all and not expect to benefit hiding evidence

He won’t get away with these high crimes. It is nothing like Mueller. He is caught dead to rights. And he won’t be able to keep hiding evidence

The first part is clear, the second not so much.
The first part is doubtful. Doing it for a political advantage is certain.

The first part is doubtful how? It gets clearer every week it seems.
And we have a president continuing to conceal evidence while also newly revealed( and formerly concealed) evidence confirms Trump’s guilty actions.

Duty to the country? You mean duty according to what the democrats want.

No, I mean what I said. Moreover, i expect that Republicans also the importance of the President not acting contrary to the law in withholding aid for corrupt self-benefit, and not inviting foreign influence in our elections, and responding properly to House investigations. I think all Americans want that.

The first part is clear, the second not so much.
In your opinion. For many Americans the first part has not been made clear and the second is certain, we’ve heard it from the mouths of the democrats.

Well two things: 1st - They wouldn’t have gone through with it unless they felt certain it would help them in the 2020 election. For the Dems it always all about votes, nothing more. Why else would they make these unfundable, irrational campaign promises they have no intention of keeping? It is only to get uninformed people to vote for them. .

2nd - We have heard it from the words spoken by Democratic members of Congress. For three years many of them have spoken about the need to get rid of Trump in order for them, the Dems, to take over.

What they didn’t anticipate, in 2016 and now, is many Americans are well informed of the issues and do not believe most if any of what Democratic leadership claims. They underestimated real America. They underestimated middle states, middles class Americans, and middle class workers. They thought they could win with their east & west coast followers alone, that us uneducated middle American deplorables wouldn’t even know where to go and vote, let alone know enough to vote against the Dems.

So yes I am certain they believed it would be a political advantage to them.

So you say. I think that the it is not clear that this will help. But it is clear that it had to be done.
In 2016 and now …
These are quite fanciful ideas that you put into the heads of people you oppose. What are these ideas based on?

There is no hard evidence any law had been broken. The democrats are trying to
convince the American public that Trump did something wrong, but they haven’t been very convincing.

You have stated this before, but have yet to define “hard evidence”.
You also have yet to reconcile this idea of a law being broken with the founders thimnking on impeachment.

The American people, buy a large majority, are convinced that in his :drug deal: with Ukraine, Trmup has done something wrong. And by a smaller majority, but none the less a majority, they believe that he should be removed form office,
