I think arguing for state owned means of production is arguing for theft from those that already have created or bought such production. This can only really be achieved through violence. It is also the aggressive policing against the freedom of people to newly create things by themselves for the betterment of their families. If one wanted to advocate for a system of stated owned means of production, but not a system which instituted atheist, not the destruction of the family, not the complete state control of education, not the destruction of all societal institutions, not the destruction and replacement of our complete culture, one would argue for socialism.
Advocating for socialism is therefore supporting the forced institution of citizen dependency on the state through violence and the removal of personal freedoms apart from the state.
Quoting the famous socialist Mussolini when setting up the first fascist state - all within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.
There is no place for the Catholic church in socialist rhetoric, except as a temporary means to it’s own ends. In my opinion communism is simply the inevitable outcome of implemented socialism.
