All you have done is espoused ignorance and bigotry by your remarks. I challenge you to show me in Sacred Scripture, the CCC, or any other Catholic document where a pedophile/predator behavior is approved of, supported by the CC, and generally accepted by the faithful. **You can NOT!!! **A pedophile priest was a pedophile/predator before he was a priest, and it could have ties to homosexuality or not I do not know or care. Pedophiles/predators are notorious for seeking out positions that put them in close proximity of potential victims e.g. teachers, scout leaders, day care workers, and yes even Christian: Pentecostal/Charismatic pastors, Christian: Pentecostal/Charismatic youth pastors and any number of other denomination you wish to list. The priesthood is just one of them. Yes, the CC mishandled the initial out cry of abuse, either due to lack of experience, ability, or willing cover up, but it is now being dealt with, as it should be. The victims are in need of our prayers for healing and we need to pray for the CC to take the right path in dealing with this issue. The CC is not made up of Saints who are perfect, rather it is made up of sinners, and all are sinners, even you. So to come here with such malicious statements really shows just how shallow your grasp on Christianity is and shows how little Christian Charity you really posses.

You know, I really wanted to let this go, you know drop it, and change my signature and all of that.
But it seems with all of the new compliments coming in, I just can’t.
So it is ok with all of you for somebody to say that I have a lot of demons and somebody else to say that my church is a Brothel, but it is not ok for me to call you all out on this, in a somewhat facetious way yes, but I was hoping you all would get the point.
And the point is that it is Just Not OK to say that somebody has a lot of demons that you only know over the internet. Or to say that my church is a Brothel.
And if this is “such a game to me”, why don’t you check out my thread on church history and same sex marriage. I was actually thinking on starting another on John Wesley and Sola Scriptura (because John Wesley is an early Protestant that I like and I find him more complex than given credit for…and I don’t know if he is Sola Scriptura or not.
But since this is “just a game for me”, why bother.
The reason why I even started this thread is that my mind is such to seek out apparant contradictions, explore them, and try to reconcile them. It is just the way it works.
You know, if you all actually took the time to get to know me and understand where I am coming from instead of judging me before knowing me, you might actually conclude that I am not who you all have prejudged that I am.
Anyway, I get the point. I am just a heretic Protestant who goes to an inferior church to the one true church, and you all, by virtue of belonging to this one true church, can say the things you say.
I know now that I am not welcome here.
And I know that this thread will get flamed in response to this. You see I am the bad guy.
But I will not respond. Since I am obviously not welcome here.

Your are correct Not Too Smart, the Catholic church did not give us the bible. So your further misinformed accusations fall away.
God gave humanity his word and God inspired men to record it for all ages. What the Catholic Church did is excercise her God given authority (see Matthew 16:19) to bind which book is inspired of God and which books were not inspired of God.
The Catholic Church canonized the books of the bible as inspired of God with the Help of the Holy Spirit. She did not give us the bible (Word of God) God gave us his Word, the body of Jesus Christ which is The Catholic Church (Pillar and foundation of Truth) with Jesus the head in heaven excercising the binding and loosing authority what ever Peter and the Catholic Church bind and loosed.
You know, the scandals in the body of Jesus Christ has been around since Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter denied Jesus 3x’s, and his disciples abandoned Jesus. Thank God for the blood of the lamb that reconciles us back to God, including you and me.
To persecute the Catholic Church always confirms she is standing in Truth, just as Jesus was persecuted, the Catholic church is not immuned here. So the inquisition and the priest scandal is not the best that the Catholic Church has been scandalized by, nor are they the last.

The Pope approved of the Bible before it was published. His approval was actually necessary, in order for it to be published.
By contrast, the Pope did not approved of any kind of sex scandals. Nor did he approve of any kind of torture, with regard to the Inquisitions. (The original concept of the Inquisition is actually a good idea, and is the basis of our modern legal system - it is simply, to ask questions and make certain of the facts, before finding the person guilty of whatever he has been charged with.)

This is simply an confused person with allot of animosity against the church. IF one is to embrace an counterfeit religion they tend to envy the Holy Church finding anything to attack it for oneself comfort or justification.
I once a protestant in college at Liberty to become a pastor came out catholic instead. I memorized and thaught I know the meaning of verse after Bible verse, but was amazed once I stepped outside of my narrow views taught growing up and started reading and learning more about the actual history, languages and so on of the Bible that my protestant undersanding of the bible was so far off from the authentic original understanding of the words and actions of the bible. There is more than enough to aloow confidence that the Bible was given by God through the Catholic church. To dispute it is simply uneducated and inacurrate.
In reference to the Priest who shamed the church, none of us where there to fully understand the story as as when the Catholic church knew and what exactly they where doing. As christ does the church does not turn there back on anyone if the truely repent and that would have been the case with these priest. What they did is a disgrace and repulses me but at the same time just because a couple of bad apples fell of the apple tree doesnt make the tree or the 1,000 other apples bad.

Show me the official Bishops’ Councils that recommended for priests to do this, and show me the Papal decree that promulgated priestly sexual abuse throughout the world.
You can’t, because they don’t exist.
By contrast, these were the necessary ingredients that caused the Bible to come into existence.

maybe some of the posters haven’t responded with the most charity, but you have to understand how much hatred and lies we see directed at Christ’s Church all the time. She is sacred to us. if you had a life-threatening illness and the physician capable of saving your life was rude would you still refuse his medical advice?

We do not, we consider Protestants to be our separated brothers and sisters,
however when there is ignorance, bigotry, and outright malicious attacks there needs to be an immediate, factual, and strong rebuff. You will notice that most responses will state something like “Some Protestants, a few Protestants, or something to that effect” to identify those who are acting in an unchristian manner.Two issues that really chap my hide is when there are attacks on the Blessed Mother and the Priesthood.

Actually the Catholic Church was the first church. All the other churches are break-offs from the original church. It may have not been perfect, but who is? Jesus said His Grace would cover our sins. The Vulgate, the first Bible, was written in Latin, therefore it is Catholic.
I see no correlation between the Bible and the bad behavior of the priests? How many non-catholic ministers have been caught in the act of bad behavior? A very poor argument!

What can come against “Truth” when Truth brings light which causes the darkness to scatter, she does not pass judement on know one. Just as Truth (Jesus) stood before Pilate, who authorized Truth to be crucified.
It is Truth that is being persecuted here, not Protestants.
