I am wondering the same thing myself. The whole sinful situation of abuse by clergy of all stripes is terrible in and of itself, there’s no need to artificially inflate the numbers.
838 cases, more than the Catholic church. Much more. These are the ones who were caught, there are many more.

Any explanation for your previous statement of 800,000? Perhaps an apology? I really, really don’t want to have a debate over “who had more clergy involved in sex scandals”, as I don’t think anyone will profit from it…so can you kindly stop speaking beyond the evidence and let us avoid such an unfortunate discussion?

Then don’t bring it up and it won’t be discussed…there are over 800,000 cases which I did in fact read about not involving the Catholic church.

Then cite your source, or drop the accusation as false…I just did a search and could find nothing to back up that allegation. You already made an incorrect statement that the number came from the site you linked when it in fact did not. If you can’t back up your statements with evidence, you had best keep them to yourself.

What you should instead be asking yourself is: Isn’t it absolutely disgusting that the news media chooses not to make a lot of noise over the people listed on that site.

Once again: To remind people like you that “people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks”.
The Catholic Church is held to a higher standard BECAUSE it is the Church founded by Christ. Satan knows who to attack.

That site is there to keep people like you informed of the evil that exists within your own societies and churches. But the site reformation.com/ does not list any Catholic Priests. What you should instead be asking yourself is: Isn’t it absolutely disgusting that the news media chooses not to make a lot of noise over the people listed on that site.

Once again: To remind people like you that “people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks”.
That’s a famous Catholic tactic. It’s the media’s fault. The media loves all Protestants but hates Catholics. Baloney! There are now 107 Catholic lergy that have been convicted of sex crimes against children in just the past few years. That’s an epidemic my friend!! Regardless of how you slice it. Can you show anything near porportionate to that in any other church?

Yes, the 838 Protestant ministers who WERE caught and convicted. Name the 107 Catholic clergy. It was nothing more than a witch hunt with most of them. This man committed suicide here in New England because he lied about the abuse of a priest just to collect the money.
www.reformation.com shows “others” that it is NOT a Catholic problem, that more Protestant ministers and some Rabbi’s have committed this terrible crime on children. More so than the Catholic church.

There is a documneted anti-Catholic sentiment in the United States

This is a sick and demented statement. You truly can’t believe what you are spewing.

 Just like the song goes…I was blind etc…your hopeless as to see what others are doing in the church. You are obviously a Catholic hater if you cannot see what others are doing. You turn a blind eye. I feel sorry for you.

I really hate to dig further into this, but you should be made aware of truth. Here are the findings of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops:

usccb.org/nrb/johnjaystudy/index.htm

Of particular note are sections 3.5 and 5.3…of 6,696 investigated allegations (out of around 10,000 total), 4,570 were substantiated. I do not know exactly how the numbers of those involved line up with the number of Protestant ministers, and frankly it’s not that important to me. However, to call the sex abuse scandals “nothing but a witch hunt” is extremely offensive to all those, Catholic and Protestant alike, who put their trust in a clergyman set aside for service to God, only to have that trust violated in one of the most vile ways imaginable.

My apologies to my Catholic brethren who understand the gravity of sin which we all bear. It is not my intention to single you out, but rather to stop someone from making excuses for the inexcusable. Rather than dividing us, we ought to pray for one another and for our leadership (Protestant and Catholic alike) in these matters, that justice be done, for healing of the damage done, and especially for those whose trust has be broken, that they would still know Christ’s love for them.

I was Catholic for three and a half decades, I would expect you to. That’s fine with me.

Can you show it to me?
Ask someone about any POSITIVE facet of Catholic History.

KKK

Chick Publications.

Prostetant bias in public schools (regarding the Calvinists of Plymoth Colony as anything but the holiest of men)

“Catolics aren’t really Christian”

I’m not really sure what you mean with this statement.

“I don’t need a book to tell me i am a sinner the Holy Spirit does that quite well…”

What book are you talking about?
