I know. I was just wondering who disputes anything in the bolded parts of your post? It seems when someone bolds portions of a post it is to highlight a specific point that is for the benefit of someone who lacks the information.

NO. it the way it is. 2000 years ago there was Christ and the Apostles. From there we have what since that time til today is the Catholic Church. All of the Protestant churches either come directly from rebellion against Her or from infighting and separation from each other. The only Christians that can be said not to fall into that would be the Orthodox as they to share in the Apostolic faith and succession from the very beginning.now THAT’S arrogance!
where as there have been Popes and other bishops over the years that have made errors as is human to do, The Church itself can not error. there fore the tread title is incorrect the Catholic Church is not wrong and must continue to point out error made by others.

Since the term “catholic” is actually a Greek term meaning “universal”, and since there is nowhere that I know of that Jesus said that the name of His church was going to be “the Roman Catholic Church”, I believe that Jesus established a church of Christians that would worship God in spirit and in truth. I don’t believe that one separates from the Body of Christ as long as they continue to believe in Christ and to follow his commands, and of course to ask for forgiveness when we make a mistake. I don’t believe that someone can be expelled from the Body of Christ if they believe in Jesus and follow his commands either.
I believe that some of the “protestants” ,and some of the “catholics”, and some of the “orthodox” make up the Body of Christ, but not everyone in any of the groups. I can discern this by their actions. Everyone that hates their brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
Now, as far as taking Jesus’s words out of context, if we are going to assume that Jeus was refering to Peter as “The Rock” in Matthew 16:18, then we would have to assume Jesus also meant that Peter was actually Satan in Matthew 17:23. After reading Matthew, then reading 1 Corinthians 10:4, I get a clearer understanding of what Jesus was saying.

Now, there is something to this. However, the name used for Peter, Cephas or Kephas, is only derived from Kepha (Rock). Aramaic nouns are not gender specific. Had he called him stone, pebble, or Barney Rubble, it would have yeilded a new name.
UNless you want to accuse Catholics of altering scriptures…

I see. would that be Luther’s view of the truth or Calvin’s? Maybe it was the truth of Ulrich Zwingli or any number of others that came about 500 or so years ago and thought they had found the truth.
they did not even agree with one another? After 1500 years these men had come upon the truth. then not only that over the last 500 years and over the last 100 years there have been even more bringers of truth. Yet the Catholic Church teaches the same truth that it has for 2000 years. I would call all these new truths rebellion.
I have stated before and I think other have as well that there have been men in the Catholic Church that have been wrong in what they have done and taught but the Church has never errored.
