Hi!Scripture and spiritual temptation is the GREATEST tool tool Satan uses to pull Christians away from the Church. Its probably the TRUE reason the Church (even Protestants) have not been overjoyed to have kayity just reading the Bible. As soon as the Bible got in public hands, instantly a new religion was formed - Anabaptism. The religion of the Bible and ‘LOCAL LODGE’… rappidly splitting and splitting since its conception. Never any unity. Just the ego and induvidual self. The man. The false trinity of 666 - the beast.
I concur with you that Satan, the Accuser, will even use the Word of God to confound and derail man (‘so, He told you to not eat of any tree, huh?.. surely you will not die… He’s afraid that you will become His equal, knowing good and evil… just do it already!’), but I cannot agree with the conclusion that it was technology that caused people to go astray. They had a leader (or more to the point leaders) who divorced himself from the Church and began to teach and decree self-enlightenment as the key to Salvation.
It is not the availability of Scriptures nor the literacy efforts but the disobedience and ego of man that leads people to their circumvention of the Love and Unity to which Christ Commanded His Followers to maintain:
Maran atha!4:1 I, the prisoner in the Lord, implore you therefore to lead a life worthy of your vocation. 4:2 Bear with one another charitably, in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience. 4:3 Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds you together. 4:4 There is one Body, one Spirit, just as you were all called into one and the same hope when you were called. 4:5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 4:6 and one God who is Father of all, over all, through all and within all. (Ephesians)
