Scripture and spiritual temptation is the GREATEST tool tool Satan uses to pull Christians away from the Church. Its probably the TRUE reason the Church (even Protestants) have not been overjoyed to have kayity just reading the Bible. As soon as the Bible got in public hands, instantly a new religion was formed - Anabaptism. The religion of the Bible and ‘LOCAL LODGE’… rappidly splitting and splitting since its conception. Never any unity. Just the ego and induvidual self. The man. The false trinity of 666 - the beast.

I concur with you that Satan, the Accuser, will even use the Word of God to confound and derail man (‘so, He told you to not eat of any tree, huh?.. surely you will not die… He’s afraid that you will become His equal, knowing good and evil… just do it already!’), but I cannot agree with the conclusion that it was technology that caused people to go astray. They had a leader (or more to the point leaders) who divorced himself from the Church and began to teach and decree self-enlightenment as the key to Salvation.

It is not the availability of Scriptures nor the literacy efforts but the disobedience and ego of man that leads people to their circumvention of the Love and Unity to which Christ Commanded His Followers to maintain:

4:1 I, the prisoner in the Lord, implore you therefore to lead a life worthy of your vocation. 4:2 Bear with one another charitably, in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience. 4:3 Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds you together. 4:4 There is one Body, one Spirit, just as you were all called into one and the same hope when you were called. 4:5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 4:6 and one God who is Father of all, over all, through all and within all. (Ephesians)

It is sad that so many claim to be obedient to Scriptures yet they refuse to Obey Christ’s Command to Be One and Love one another so that the world may Know that He was Sent by the Father!.

Well actually… Satan really did use OT Scripture to get Jesus to jump to his death. He LITERALLY did EXACTLY what todays 'Bible Based Christians are doing. Anabaptists really did arise from those who read they Bible due to their own understanding.

In my opinion The Church should not have called Scrioture the word of God. I say this because honestly the Word is really in Spirit and even the Catechism says that God is beyond space and time and has no need for syllables. The Muslims believe their book is the word, The Jews believe theirs is the Word aling with even a language given by God which further complicates things.

The Church should have called Scripture… something like ‘Holy Scripture’ or something. Id never say this if I ddin’t see the serious damage it caused. Calling it the word of God is misleading. And its rare I critisize the Church about anything.

But ‘word of God’ is too far removed from the reality of what scripture really is. Christ in the form of Our Priests and Sacraments, along with our cooperation really saves us. The Bible is a conceptual and anstract. I value a priests ordination faaaaar more than Scripture. I would have never said the same thing a couple of years ago. But If you could just see the Catholics that have fallen away from the Faith by reading the Bible. They trick themselves into believing they have an intiment relationship with God because they read a book (which is an intement task by nature). This is a delusion of a close relationship…

Lik okay… have you ever read a good book, but got attatched to the character? And then someone who read the book found the same character to be opposite of what you thought? Thats because we are CREATING the Character in our own mind… our own ego. But its not the Truth. This is why reading the Bible is so dangerous. Our Church isnt even based off a Bible. But they are told that Christianity was ‘created from the Bible’. No. This isnt Islam. Our Faith does NOT come from a book. Just the term ‘word of God’ is very… VERY misleading and after all my experience seeing the harm of calling it such, I’d have a hard time changing my mind. I wonder if all languages call it ‘the word of God’

There is nothing wrong with the idea of Mary as co-redemptrix. It fits in with Catholic teaching, and most Catholics go with it. I go with it.

But it is not official doctrine at this time, as far as I know, in that bald of a form. (If anybody has Ott and can look it up, I’d love to know.) It sure as heck is not dogma that every Catholic must believe, and Fr. Hardon certainly knew that.

If “Maria co-redemptrix” were dogma, there wouldn’t be people petitioning the popes to get it made dogma! (I hope nobody out there is petitioning Pope Francis to have the Immaculate Conception made a dogma… because if you are, you’re running late!)

People misunderstood Jesus Christ’s living word coming straight from His mouth. Was He supposed to tell people He wasn’t God and He wasn’t God’s Word? We make allowances for idiots, but we don’t deny the Truth or His Revelation, just because there are idiots and word-twisters walking around in the world.

The Bible is the Word of God. Unrecorded things that Jesus spoke, or that God told the prophets, are also the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God.

People who twist the words of the Bible, or other messages from God, “to their own destruction”, are exactly the same kinds of people who twist God’s other gifts.

It’s dangerous to have rocks around. And yet, God made the earth and the solar system out of rocks, not out of playfoam. The answer is not to fear rocks and hide from their presence, but to learn about them and respect them.

I think you are confusing terms with terms…

The Word of God must be rendered as the Word of God even if man those not understand its full meaning or even if man misappropriates its meaning.

The Word of God Remains the Word of God regardless of man’s manipulations and preconceptions and biased interpretations:

55:11 so the word that goes from my mouth does not return to me empty, without carrying out my will and succeeding in what it was sent to do. (Isaiah)

Clearly the Bible is a compilation of Sacred Writings and as attested by Jesus and the Apostles:

17:14 I passed your word on to them, and the world hated them, because they belong to the world no more than I belong to the world. (St. John)
6:63 ‘It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. (St. John)
1:20 At the same time, we must be most careful to remember that the interpretation of scriptural prophecy is never a matter for the individual. 1:21 Why? Because no prophecy ever came from man’s initiative. When men spoke for God it was the Holy Spirit that moved them. (2 St. Peter)

Those who hold Scriptures, the Word of God, as a compilation of novelty writings do so out of ignorance or rejection of God’s Authority–this cannot be avoided no matter how hard we try.

However, even Believers mistake the greater Meaning that the term identifies… the Word is actually God:

4:12 The word of God is something alive and active: it cuts like any double-edged sword but more finely: it can slip through the place where the soul is divided from the spirit, or joints from the marrow; it can judge the secret emotions and thoughts. 4:13 No created thing can hide from him; everything is uncovered and open to the eyes of the one to whom we must give account of ourselves. 4:14 Since in Jesus, the Son of God, we have the supreme high priest who has gone through to the highest heaven, we must never let go of the faith that we have professed. 4:15 For it is not as if we had a high priest who was incapable of feeling our weaknesses with us; but we have one who has been tempted in every way that we are, though he is without sin. 4:16 Let us be confident, then, in approaching the throne of grace, that we shall have mercy from him and find grace when we are in need of help. (Hebrews)

Conversely, have you not noticed how Jesus is maligned, ignored, and even rejected as God?

Man can choose, to his own detriment, to mock God, and will do so by specifically degrading anything that is Holy.

The Bible is the Word of God

The Word of God is in Spirit beyond letters and words.

“GOD’S SPIRIT who reveals God makes KNOWN to us CHRIST, HIS WORD, his living Utterance, but the Spirit does not speak of himself.” (CCC:687) (doesn’t mention scripture)

Such properly divine self-effacement [of the Spirit] EXPLAINS why “THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE [HIM], because it neither SEES him nor KNOWS him,” while those WHO BELIEVE in Christ KNOW THE SPIRIT because he DWELLS with them.(CCC:687) (Jn 14:17) (we don’t know him though Scripture, but rather Spirit)

Many walk near cliffs, but if they fall, it’s usually not intended. Sometimes they fall by mistake, but often they get pushed off. Calling the Bible the ‘Word of God’ is such a powerfully strong statement, that it literally makes us the ones who partake in pushing them off! (wow that was a great parable… did I just write that?)

Anabaptists are the most vocal by far online, in media, and in the English language. They have ALL SORTS of flavors/genres they operate under: Freemasonry, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Baptist, Calvinist, Congregationalism, Adventism, Sabbath Keepers, Non-Denominational, Bible-Based, New Age, Born Again, and lately Messianic Judaism, Hebrew Roots, Torah Keepers, and any kind of religious ‘Movement’ is always Anabaptist. They spend BILLIONS a year missionizing Catholics/Protestants/Orthodox worldwide. They are beasts. True wolves.

Then there’s the financial tithing scams under the guise of religion. They are legally-protected, organized, financial-extortion rackets under the guise of a religion: (Mormonism/Jehovah’s Witness/Scientology). They are not so much an ‘enemy’ because they tend to take on victims without any religion at all. (unbaptized seculars).

Its the Anabaptists that are a growing huge concern across the world. They really believe they are Christian and especially that they are Protestant. This is a blinding they are under. So much so that they believe Catholics are not Christian. They tell Catholics this worldwide when they SOLICIT them (as they don’t missionize!).

They speak on the Reformation when in actuality they have nothing whatsoever to do with it and have ZERO involvement with ANY Church that accepts the basic Creeds of the Faith. People think they are VALID choices of Christianity and a legitimate choice for salvation in their walk, when in fact, they are LITERALLY ANTI-CATHOLIC ORGANIZATIONS. Most unknowingly dedicate their finance and works towards fulfilling the Great Commission of the Anti-Christ: their directives clearly decreed in the Protocols of Zion - Protocol #17

I can’t describe the damage that has been done by declaring the Bible as the ‘Word of God’. If you could just see how many people have fallen away from salvation just due to that claim alone.

…again, it is not by stating that the Bible is the Word of God that many fall prey to Satan.

It is because those who profess to be Christians do not offer God’s Word but their interpretation of God’s Word.

Scientology is the only group, as far as I know, that does not claim to be Christian as their means to recruit people. Yet, their premise is just as bad since they promote themselves rather than God. The Jehovah Witnesses are a less controlling force then they; yet, it is tremendously destructive as it teaches the rejection of Christ’s Divinity and all sorts of corrupt interpretation of Sacred Scriptures as the truth… still, they influence people not by promoting the Bible as the Word of God but by promoting their organization as holding the truth.

I think that I understand your zealousness for the term Word of God… but please to not misunderstand the reasons why humanity’s fait is in peril.
