By Hilary WhiteROME, September 16, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pope Benedict XVI has made it clear that he is not going to mince words or waste time on his visit to a Britain beleaguered with social unrest, chronic welfare dependency, pornography, abortion, family breakdown, plummeting rates of…

Ab initio, the world and the Church are not compatible. The world chooses to reject this truth and attack the Church for its differing view on social issues.

I’m so glad the Holy Spirit doesn’t let the Church be influenced by modern views.

👍
And I liked when the Holy Father said he’s not worried about his reception in Great Britain.
The Church, he said, “does not work for her own ends, she does not work to increase numbers and thus power.”

The Church “serves, not for herself, not to be a strong body, rather she serves to make the proclamation of Jesus Christ accessible, the great truths and great forces of love, reconciling love that appeared in this figure and that always comes from the presence of Jesus Christ.”

Great words from a good and holy man!

He even addressed the sex abuse scandal. No “cover up”, is there?

Quote:
“The priest at the time of ordination, after having prepared for this moment for years, says yes to Christ, to be his voice, his mouth, his hands and serve Him with his whole life, so that the Good Shepherd who loves and helps and guides to the truth is present in the world. How a man who has done this and said this may also fall into this perversion is difficult to understand.”

This anti-Papal lunacy ends now.

Excellent. The Pope tells it like it is. We’re the Church Of Truth, not “sensitivity.”👍

how about those anglican women priests? their arrogance in showing up before the pope knowingly well that the pope does not approve such a thing, yet they were there. i was astonished to see such a disrespect for the holy father. he had to shake their hands anyway. to me this was a humiliation that the holy father had to go through.

Sorry but when you invite Anglicans to show up they’re going to show up. It was no humiliation, it was basic ecumenism. This is nothing new in Catholic-Anglican relations.

I agree with the Pope: you can’t water down the doctrines and the teachings of Jesus Christ and then claim to proclaim the authentic Truth in… truth!

“The Church Does Not Need to “Be Attractive” but to Proclaim the Truth: Pope to Journalists”

When do we start applying this philosophy to the “modernization” of the OF Liturgy in many US parishes, especially at the so-called Youth and Charismatic Masses?

The Pope doesn’t approve of what such thing? Female Anglican priests? There is no such thing. There is no such thing as an Anglican priest, period.

The Anglican Communion is divorced from the lineage of the Apostles and, therefore, they do not possess the Sacrament of Holy Orders. A so-called “bishop” of the Anglican Communion cannot ordain anyone, male of female.

Those women dressed as priests–just as those men dressed as priests–are merely laypersons. Whether their women pretend to be priests or their men, or both, makes no difference at all.

The Pope, therefore, would not approve or disapprove of such a thing as female Protestant priests, as the sex of a Protestant priest doesn’t matter: male or female, there is no priesthood there.

The Church has stood the test of time by not changing with every trend. Devotion to the Truth, The Eucharist, The Magisterium, The Sacred Heart of Jesus and The Immaculate Heart of Mary are more than enough. Not to mention the Saints and all the other devotions.

I do understand that. i know that they dont have the pristhood. my point was that she thinks she is and so do the others and so does the world. they all believe they are. by shaking their hands, it sends the wrong message to other women who aspire such a thing. that is when the Church has to face a greater obstacle when fighting against this issue. most of the issues we are facing today is brought in by the Church herself. by the leaders of the Church the way they have been behaving. note that i am condenming the holy father for this but her actions.

this reminds of the passage in the OT. if i recal correctly. it goes like this, the sons of teh woman were being forced to eat meat from the pagans. one refused and was killed and so did the other. the other one, someone was trying to convince him to just pretend to eat to save his life but not really eat it. so the son said, God forbid i commit such an evil and cause others to believe that it was ok to be disobedient to God. he was concerned not to do something even it was just a lie. he wouldnt not want someone to see this and believe if it was true. i cant remember which Book has this passage.

Yes, this is teh proper way. but what is happening is that Catholics are playing along wiht heresies. playing along has been the main devotion for Catholics for quite sometime now. this has brought a greater burden for the Church. speaking with both side of the mouthl, saying one thing and doing another.

remember the scandals with the bishops? they were speaking against abortion and homosexualism, then on the dark, they were given money to support groups who support the very same thing.

** “The tail of the devil is functioning in the disintegration of the Catholic world. The darkness of satan has entered and spread throughout the Catholic Church even to its summit. Apostasy, the loss of the faith, is spreading throughout the world and into the highest levels within the Church.” - Pope Paul VI, October 13, 1977 **

Our Lord certainly spoke “truth to power,” and suffered for it. he also spoke truth to the people and many of them left him. Truth is a hard burden to bear.

The Pope is consistent, he says we should love the sinner but not the sin. It applies in all circumstances. It is anti Christian to hate or foster hatred. If you love your neighbour as Jesus said we should you will never be humiliated.
