The Altar was set up for their Novus Ordo. I’ll take some pictures of the Altar and Sanctuary when its set for the Tridentine Mass.

Very beautiful. 👍

But, didn’t Vatican II say that Catholic Churches aren’t supposed to look like Catholic Churches anymore? Or so I’ve been told. ;)😃

Luckily this church was built long before Vatican II. Thanks be to God that they didn’t destroy it since then.

At my parish, the detached altar has to be dusted due to it is not being used. Both the OF and EF Masses use the old altar. Maybe you can get them to do that there have both types Ad Orientum.
This isn’t my parish. I only go there for the Latin Mass. I highly doubt they’d take away the common form of the Novus Ordo they offer. Its a nice thought, though.

Excellent idea. 👍

At my parish the pastor decided for 1 weekend to offer the OF Masses on the high altar ad orientem. He explained the reasons for “facing God” rather than “facing the people” in his homily and I believe in the bulletin.

And then he asked everyone for their opinions - positive or negative. He also explained that this wasn’t a vote. He just wanted peoples opinions. I believe it ended up being 90 some percent positive feedback - less than 1 negative reaction per Mass.

So, it is possible that the parish may make the switch in the future.

(And of course I was in bed sick that weekend and missed the whole thing.)

Wow, that is one nice Church. They sure don’t make 'em like like that anymore.

Our server coordinator’s wife took a couple pics during the High Mass. He just sent these to me; they show the altar and sanctuary somewhat. This is the High Mass that I served on Easter Sunday. I’m the one at the far right in the first picture, and the one at the celebrant’s left during the incensing.

Thank you for posting all the pics. As others have said, what a beautiful Church.

It’s very beautiful; thank you for sharing.

If you’re interested, here are some videos of the small Church I serve in.

It’s always nice to see a church that was spared the desecra…I’m sorry, the renovations of the Spirit of Vatican II.

Wow! I wish I could attend Mass at a church like yours!!! I feel holier just looking at the pics!

Note to self: plan trip to Cleveland, OH and that beautiful church.
