Well, life’s all about choices…and consequences. When someone puts themselves above the Church, they are trying to put themselves above Jesus Christ, since the Church is the Mystical Body of Christ. May God have mercy on his soul.
 
In the letter, Fr. Bourgeois persists in his insistence that women should be ordained priests in the Catholic Church. “After much prayer, reflection and discernment, it is my conscience that compels me to do the right thing,” he wrote. “I cannot recant my belief and public statements that support the ordination of women in our Church.”

Sigh. I don’t doubt his sincerity. But he seems to have the whole “men-and-women-identical-vs-equal-in-dignity” thing all confused. Like so many others.
