If I could I would kneel.
I understand. My Husband has severe Arthritis and very little cartiledge in his knees, making it impossible for him to bend them, let alone kneel. A reverant bow is what he does.

I only recieve Holy Communion now at the monthly TLM here so I can recieve on the tongue. I am not allowed to recieve on the tongue at my parish 😦

Caesar, it’s the right of every Catholic to receive on the tongue. Talk to your priest, and explain this to him. Talk to your bishop if necessary. Tell them you want to be able to receive on the tongue. In my parish, a whole group of people decided to start receiving on the tongue when we got a new priest. Now half the parish does it.

how about being told you cannot kneel to receive a blessing? 😦 and being told to do so is a distraction?😦 this happened to me a couple of years ago.

Either I’m a lot younger than everyone else or this just disappeared before my time in my area b/c I have never seen anyone (with the exception of my parents’ wedding photo 40 years ago! 😉 ) kneeling to receive. I would love to but there was certainly no rail in any parish I have attended so I don’t think it would be appreciated.

I was always taught to receive in the hand but recently switched to tongue. It’s a little more awkward b/c the EMHC isn’t expecting it, especially from a younger person, but I have found it much more reverent and am encouraging my FH to do the same when he has his first communion/confirmation in a couple months.

Looks like I gotta head to the US and see what this is all about! Need a passport now though

All you have to do is go to a TLM, and you will see everyone kneel to receive.

No wonder you have never seen this! Your in my area 😉

Perhaps you should attend the TLM here in London if you are close enough.

I’ve never seen someone at an NO Mass not be allow to kneel. Our priest is very good about this and so where the four other priests I knew. 🙂 It’s the way it should be.

I don’t quite get your meaning. Beat at what?
sweetie, it’s a joke…I mentioned my priest and at least four others I’ve know that allow it then you showed me only one place that didn’t allow it…oh Lord if you have to explain it’s not funny  😛

Just throwin’ in a wee bit of humor, we seem to get ourselves so upset over these things. 🙂

Who’s upset? I just didn’t get your meaning, that’s all. And I’m not going to go digging around the internet to show you more places where faithful Catholics have been refused communion when they have been kneeling. I only intended to show you one example, that’s all.
