Hello!
I have a medal of St. Benedict that I have begun to wear, and recently asked a priest to bless it. Now, I read all the time, and in reading about the medal of St. Benedict (or any other sacramental really) everything has said that part of the blessing is sprinkling with holy water. The priest I asked did not use any holy water, however, and simply verbally blessed the medal, making the sign of the cross over it. Of course, I would never presume to correct a priest, but is the blessing still efficacious without that step? Help a convert out, and thanks!
