Jesus is the completion of the Passover. Jesus is now the Passover Lamb, the perfect sacrifice. He died at 3:00 PM on Passover, just as the Passover lambs were being led into Jerusalem to be slaughtered for the Passover meal. Just before Jesus died on the cross, he drank the wine offered on the hyssop branch and declared “It is finished.” The hyssop was used to splash the blood of the lambs on the lintels of the Jewish homes on Passover. The wine on the branch was the fourth cup (Hallel) that completed the Passover meal.
