Luke 10:16 (English Standard Version)
Pax Christi“The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one** who rejects me rejects him who sent me**.”
Most importantly…Luke 10:16 (Jesus giving instructions as He sends forth his 72 disciples)…might be a most important passage for Mr. Hicks…to peruse!
- Acknowledge how the priest abuse scandal has everyone’s heart and mind spinning and befuddled…but the bottom line is a forgone conclusion…the Church will be purified and recover and become more holy and give greater glory to God…yea, yea…I know its the same old story…but it is the same old True story…and it has been the same old story for 2000 years…and it will be the same old true story for another 2000 years…if God wills that time still rolls on for that long…before the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus.
- Also…lets remember who’s Catholic Church we are talking about…its not the Pope’s or the bishops or the priest’s or the laity…sure we are all privileged to be part of the Body of Christ…the Pope in a very special way and also the bishops and the priests in the liturgy/sacraments…but it is His Church…He is the Head and the One in-charge…you know…the same Guy who picked Judas as one of the Twelve…the Guy who let the devil think that he had “won” one…by letting him kill Him…nail Him to a tree…the same Guy who knocked Saul off his horse on the road to Damascus and asked him why he was persecuting Him (not the Church but Him) – yea…that Guy…Jesus, The Christ…"…Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me…" (cf Acts 9:4). The Guy who said…"…All authority in heaven and** on earth** has been given to me." (cf Matt 28:16-20). ** So what part of Jesus’ All Authority**…on earth…does Mr. Hicks not get?

P.S…when dealing with Mr. Hicks…let us never put a “period” where God is almost invariably putting a “comma”…especially I hope for this “comma” in my poor soul’s raggedy and rocky journey to God!
Only God knows the time, yet I do not personally feel that it will another 2,000 years. I think there is a reason that Jesus told Saint Faustina to prepare the world for His Second Coming. I doubt Jesus was doing so for an event 2,000 years in the future.

Jesus also ranted about the corrupt priests of His day, did he not? It is because he loved the Temple that he raised such holy hell with priests who defiled it. He would not overlook their sins ‘for the good of the universal church’ the way then-Cardinal Ratzinger did with the priest in California. (See related thread.)I only read part of it, but what I saw was just another hate-filled rant against the Church. It makes me sad, but Jesus said this would happen.
I wouldnt bother. we are living at a time that the more we talk, the more we get in trouble. we just need to hold still and let our God deal with this situation.I’m getting tired of these types of stories… seriously.
Unfortunately, this one was emailed to me, and I know some of the people involved and many that commented on it, so I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to respond without causing a huge issue.
I’m a new Catholic (kind of- I was Baptized as a baby, but only just had my first Communion, Confirmation is May 23rd), so I don’t want to get into a debate with these folks and say the wrong things.
Anyway, here’s another one of those types of stories…
