The Divine Mercy Chaplet St Faustina

I don’t use it on my own, but I obviously don’t object to it. A visiting priest had our parish pray it as a group on Low Sunday this past year and I was happy to join in.

St Faustina’s Diary on the other hand…I had to give up on it after 80 pages or so. I’m an avid reader, but I just couldn’t stomach it anymore. I also don’t buy her story about the Host trying to float out of the tabernacle to escape her community and her putting It back in with her hands. I hope she was just trying to convey some other truth with that particular incident.
 
I will start saying the prayer.

I have read some stories about her and I guess as humans we do doubt about things when we should have a stronger faith.

I really don’t want to do anything that is against God. It would make me very very sad to do so.

I have only just come across the Divine Mercy and nevere heard of it before.

On weekdays, I like to say the Chaplet at 3:00 pm with the EWTN program. The Chaplet is sung in a traditional “chant” form. (It is available in both CD and DVD formats.) If you like a sung version, but prefer something other than chant, there are a few versions out there.

I believe this is arguably the most powerful prayer that the Lord has given us. It promises so many wonderful graces! Just look at the Novena of Chaplets that Jesus encourages us to say, and Divine Mercy Sunday, instituted by the “Pope of Mercy”, JPII. They have a ton of information about the devotion. Also, I suggest that if you want to read St. Faustina’s Diary, read a bit of her biography first. I liked “The Life of Faustina Kowalska” by Sister Sophia Michalenko. It is an easy read, and helps to figure out the times, places and people that Faustina writes about in the Diary. (Sometimes she can be a little confusing. 🙂 )

A friend of mine loaned me this book recently, and I have read it. A powerful book! I highly recommend it.
 
I love the chaplet and say it frequently, but irregularly. However, I have the picture of Jesus associated with the chaplet hanging above my bed, so I feel I am “under” the Divine Mercy all night.😉

When I first read this my eyes played tricks on me, and I thought you had written “Lent is coming soon, maybe I can get reMedicated!” LOL
 
I confess that the Chaplet is one prayer that I almost invariably end up saying. Really beautiful.
 
The Chaplet is a beautiful prayer.

Reading St. Faustina’s Diary changed my life. I keep it on the nightstand next to my bed. It transformed how I look at God. You can order it for less than $10. It used to be available online and still may be. I strongly recommend getting it. You don’t have to read it from end to end. I bounce around in it. The last section alone, in which she wrote her preparations for Holy Communion, is worth the price of the book.

Is it recognised by the church as a true and holy account?

I know she is a saint but i would still like to ask.
 
I have a great devotion to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and pray it regularly. I would not have known about it but a former priest in my Parish shared his great love for it with us and I will be forever grateful to him. I have also read books about St. Faustina and carry a little booklet in my purse about the Divine Mercy.

I have read snippets from her diary and am contemplating buying the full version.

What do people think of it and of Jesus talking to her?

That Diary is a life-altering event. Buy it and read it. The nice thing is that you don’t have to read it from start to finish but can bounce around. I keep it on my nightstand and often read it when I first wake up. You’ll never be the same after you start reading it.

Ask St. Faustina to pray for you and with you - especially as you pray the chaplet.
 
I usually pray it every Friday morning at Adoration. Also, let’s not forget the image that Our Lord wanted to have painted and venerated. I am not too good at posting pics on here so maybe someone else could put that up.👍
 
I have started to pray the Chaplet.

The words in the diary of what I have read so far are I places scary by what our dear lord says about what is coming but also inspirational, spiritual and heart warming!

The image is ver powerful. Has such meaning to me. I love Our Lord and will try my very best to pray for those that need his Divine Mercy.

I find the chaplet great to say at 3pm and when walking up for holy communion. For me it’s another reminder about devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
