I feel sorry for you Philipp. You obviously work very hard putting together these posts about how the Earth is much younger than most scientists say it is, and you try to buttress your position by using scientific arguments. Unfortunately you have just completely blown all possible scientific credibility for the website (dinosaurc14ages.com/) that you are using.

The phrase “Man as Old as Coal” in inextricably associated with a well known internet kook called Ed Conrad. When I go to the site you reference and look at the article you refer to, what do I find but:HON. Paul E. KANJORSKI of Pennsylvania Tuesday October 27, 1987

Mr. Kanjorski, Mr. Speaker, I would like to call your attention to an article from the October 10, 1987 Hazleton Standard Speaker entitled "man as Old as Coal” The story concerns the research of one of my Constituents, Ed Conrad whose findings are on exhibit in the Greater Hazleton Historical Society Museum. (Emphasis added)
Two points. Firstly Ed Conrad has the scientific credibility of a man in a tinfoil hat claiming that all humans are actually Venusians. The fact that this site you refer to has a reference to Ed means that the site has no bullcarp detector and is a warning to anyone with any scientific knowledge that this site includes some complete rubbish…
Phil’s only other stuff is to refer to the book published by the Italian agency under the aegis of the Vatican, and I have pointed out that the agency stated openly that they did not support the conclusions of the authors.

Phil has given us nothing but some pretty pictures.

So now we have humans with identical feet 3.6MYA.

Evidence Indicates Humans’ Early Tree-Dwelling Ancestors Were Also Bipedal

…“But to our surprise, the Laetoli footprints fall completely within the range of normal human footprints.”
So do those “108 million year old” fossil human footprints with dinosaurian ones, called Ichnites in the Paluxy River bottom and the pristine ones in the #2 stratum on the river bank ledge. Don’t forget you can see a cast of 8 of the 19 human footprints from the river bottom in sequence (left, right; left, right and so on) at the Glendive MT fossil museum. The remaining nine or in storage for your inspection.

Hey guys and gals if we can get a petition together and a little of that green stuff to grease the land owner’s palm maybe he’d let us go down to the next stratum by: (1) removing the second 12 inch thick thick Cretaceous stratum. (2) Carefully scrape away the 2-3 inches of clay protecting all these footprints for 1000’s of years and (3) cleaning out the dinosaur and human toe impressions with the wooden ends of a paint brush (4) Mold and cast the best footprint impressions of either critter that have left a distinct impression. Then if agreed we can write a joiont technical paper and present it to Nature and/or Science Magazine.

EXPECTATIONS: Since there are only five dino prints in sequence on the first statum and literally A100 human ones on the second stratum with 100’s of dinosaurian ones in trails or discontinuous with five or six dinosaur trails and three human footprint trails there could be literally 100’s of human ones on #3 strata. If a human trail is uncovered we would have to mold all prints in the trail as they could erode away perhaps in a few years or even a few months depending on the porosity and composition of the limestone.

Has anyone ever been to an archaeological dig? It’s a lot of fun as well as scientifically rewarding. The expectations is part of the fun. Those on this thread who would like to see human ones discovered can rejoice in the Lord. For those who want to see ONLY dinosaur footprints and there could be plenty then these ne sayers can return to CA and bloviate about it all they want, Ha!

Another expectation doul be that the losers would have to buy some wine and continue the discussion on site. Hic!😉 at a local restuarant in Glen Rose TX.

There’s something wrong with all this 3.6 MYA and I can’t quite place what it is. Personally, I have no trouble with plant and animal species evolving over time. Apparently, the earth changed over time. What is now about 75 miles of water between Russia and Alaska used to be a land bridge? Is that right?

On the other hand, the idea of true humans going back 200,000 years or so doesn’t make sense considering the speed of technology in the last two thousand years. When one considers that the first human being had the same nature as the current human being, why the initial lag in the beginning?

Blessings,
granny

All human life is worthy of protection from the moment of conception.

What you have here is a chimp that lives in trees but can walk bi-pedal?. Now does this make any sense given the photos of a chimps foot and a human foot? Remember the one I posted a while ago? They had the ability to walk but saved it for millions of years? And their feet look so different. Major problems here.

Ok I am a bit confused by your post here. But I think I should point out that humans did not evolve from chimps nor did chimps evolve from humans. Also it is quite possible that these “protohumans” did walk at times. But for whatever reasons hadn;t yet gone to a life of full time ground living.

I imagine the answer is actually pretty complicated. But I think it is our techology once it was developed and advances in medicine in recent history that have allowed us to advance so fast. Course like I said the answer is complicated. Cause then the question is why did we take so long to develop this level of techology in the first place. Which would probably require looking through out human history at different events and what not.

Yes, if there are any organisms present who have evolved sound-detecting organs. A falling tree will create sound waves whether or not there are any animals present to receive and process those waves a s sound. If there are ears and brains, the tree will make a noise!
Suppose I am in the forest talking to a 13,000 year old tree. I tell the tree a great joke about the world being only 6,000 years old. If the tree does not laugh would it still considered a joke?

PHILIPP: Thank you but really I don’t need your pity. I’ve had 40 wonderful years of research into origins and each year I gain a little more insite ilnto the fallacies of why the “Sacred Cow” is so lovable.

With regards the web site that you try and use to discredit the data that I have presented may I suggest you send an e-mail to the web-site manager and ask him why he is put Conrad’s claim on his web site from the congressional record?

He also put C-14 dating on the web site to show that those millions of years don’t exist. Uhm! Without even writing the web site manager it’s apparent the reason for so doing was to point out that there were human bone like structure in some coal deposits just as others have found human metal artifacts therein. Poor old Conrad got suckered into the old earth baloney well before C-14 dating of the fossils became popular just like you have.

Have you seen any Venusians lately? There’s a world-respected scientist recently appointed to the PAS who believes in Aliens from outer space. This is the type of man only an evo guy would love. But perhaps maybe you and Ed Conrad are ahead of your time.😃 Rossum, I suspect the web master would have a better time converting Ed Conrad to a younger age then some of the folks on this thread.😃

Thak God for the Pres. and VP of the CNR of Italy for their courage to present some hard lab and flume studies, C-14 dating etc. By the way Dr. Roberto de Mattei was not dismissed because of the book he had published. He is still pubishing other interesting items about the “Sacred Cow” that I suspect you won’t like but couldn’t care less because your are as a firm believer of your faith in the “sacred Cow” as I am of my Catholic faith.🙂
must be off to bed.

You’ve seen the photos on www.dinosaurc14ages.com I presume, yet you act like a skeptic who is trying to make it look like the web site manager is faking it.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I never had time to look at the website; I don’t know anything about that site, and I never said a word about it. You are sounding rather confused about things.

I haven’t seen any posts in this thread that would lead me to seriously question the standards methods used for dating rocks.

The way I see it, and very briefly, there are three independent uranium and thorium methods for dating rock. Each method is based on a different isotopic series. Consequently, each method can provide its own independent check on the other methods. This fact, as far as I am concerned, provides an adequate level of assurance.

The decay of samarium, lutetium and rhenium are also used to date rocks and minerals. Each has its own advantages and can provide a check on the other methods of dating.

Also, potassium-argon dating utilizes the decay of one of the radioisotopes of potassium into that rare gas called argon. A newly formed volcanic rock will have almost no argon, but a very old rock will have a loss of potassium precisely balanced by a gain of argon. The age is then determined by the half-life.

Give me a compelling argument to doubt the reliability of the accepted methods of dating and I will consider it. So far, I have seen no compelling arguments. What I have seen are arguments mired in various inexcusable problems of their own.

Didn’t you read my post? Redshift is related to distance. If the redshift is not a measure of distance then all of the distances are wrong which means the ages are wrong. That means the universe may actually be a lot younger because the objects are a lot closer.

God bless,
Ed
Redshift is not a measure of distance, but an effect on the wavelengths of light as they span a great distance. If a star (e.g.) is moving or is extremely distant from us, the wavelength is altered: The blue end of the spectrum has shorter wavelengths, the red end is longer (wider): Redshift and blueshift is normally seen as a result of the doppler effect:

As for sound, a similar consequence results for light coming fom objects which are travelling at high velocities.

Now, the redshift observed from distant galaxies could result from two possibilities:

Either the galaxies are travelling away from us at extremely high velocities due to the rapid expansion of the universe:
(us–>) 🙂 ( ( ( ( ( )))))))))) (<–galaxy)

Or the galaxies are so far away, that the photons (light) emitted from them take so long to get to us, that they “stretch out” (theoretically):

🙂 ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( ( (((((((

How come we are missing an opposable thumb?
Well once we stopped living in trees we would no longer need it. probably simplistic explanation as it is not like it would have been lost right away However of course we still have opposable thumbs on our hands.

Thumbs are vestigial appendages? We still use our thumbs, although, if a mutation occured which caused a loss of opposable thumbs, it wouldn’t keep people from procreating and spreading the gene throughout the species.

I just found this and it’s interesting: livescience.com/animals/top10_vestigial_organs-1.html

Hey, that would be an interesting topic for discussion on another thread, that is, life elsewhere in the universe. I mean, the universe is certainly BIG enough that it’s probable (think even for plants or bacteria) for life to exist elsewhere. It would, however, have interesting implications for religion and how we would define ‘life’ itself.

All human life is worthy of protection from the moment of conception.
The same reason the Aztecs were still building pyramids when the Spanish arrived and why Native Americans were still wearing loin-clothes when the English, French, and Dutch arrived.

200,000 years makes sense, considering that we discovered things through chance. I wonder how long (and how many generations) it took our ancestors to discover which mushrooms were edible (if any) and that metal could be smelted at extremely high temperatures. The Romans were more technologically advanced than the Merovingians 500 years after; yet in the past 500 years, we have gone from horse and carriage to rocket ships.

I wonder if the recent speed of discovery is attributable to any particular cause? Or perhaps, any particular… method?

[Why everything you’ve been told about evolution is wrong

What if Darwin’s theory of natural selection is inaccurate? What if the way you live now affects the life expectancy of your descendants? Evolutionary thinking is having a revolution . . .](News, sport and opinion from the Guardian's US edition | The Guardian)
I have three simple objections to this article (and perhaps some rhetorical points)
  1. Coincidence? Computers glitch, but even if it is proof, that’s awesome! But has nothing to say about cosmic or biological evolution.
  2. My family has raised chickens for years. You can’t put any chicken in a maze and expect it to go anywhere. A similar study was done with rats, which actually proved that hightened stress (they were dosed w/ adrenaline) helped their memory.
  3. The “Flat Earth Society” uses one of the same arguments as the article: The article claims that it’s so crazy to think that wings and brains can occur via natural selection. The “Flat Earthers” say “How can we expect to believe something as elaborate and insanely complex as that ‘the Earth is a sphere…’ pfshhh!” I’m sorry, but Occum’s razor only works if you have a simpler argument (as opposed to having a simpler mind).
Furthermore, (and I admit that the following points are not quite as logical) this is an internet news article, using obscure references to shady studies and making claims that do not follow from concrete proofs. However, a title like “Evolution is Wrong” will be sure to get a lot of readers.

Oh I wasn’;t trying to imply that our thumbs are vestigal. But trying to come up with an explanation as to why we donlt have opposable thumbs on our feet.
