I’m tellin ya, Damascus, the whole forum just got nutty yesterday. Too much turkey or too much brandy in the old eggnog or something. But this was not the only thread that went bizarro. You should of seen the Mormons baptising JPII. That just went completely to pot. And not a moderator in sight when we really really needed one. But we all survived. But the really really wierdo stuff I heard about Joe Smith- well we all came to the conclusion these rumors were not even true and defended the poor guy and we are catholics! Wierd, wierder, wierdest. And by the time I came back here- well, you had been disfellowshipped from the JW’s:eek: What fun was had by all.

In reply to Sandi. In my part of the world we have a saying. When you convert to a new religion you should be locked up for six months. Converts always seem to be more fanatical. I suppose it’s the novelty factor.
 
Did I sound uncharitable? It wasn’t my intention. It was just an observation. There have been several JW’s posting here and they all seem to have ended on the same note to the effect that they won’t be posting here again and I thought why stop posting just because others don’t agree with you?

The fault lies, not with all religion, but with false religion. A widely respected religious figure, Jesus Christ, indicated that false religion produces bad works, just as a “rotten tree produces worthless fruit.” (Matthew 7:15-17) What fruit does false religion yield?

SPREADS FALSE DOCTRINE: Most religions teach that the soul or spirit is some invisible part of a human that survives the death of the physical body. By means of this teaching, many of these religions exploit their members, charging money to pray for departed souls. However, the Bible teaches a different doctrine. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Jesus taught that the dead will be resurrected—an unnecessary action if humans had an immortal soul. (John 11:11-25) Does your religion teach that the soul does not die

To say that the scriptures lie or manipulate them – we don’t understand all things – its beyond our understanding these words are because SATAN has blinded the mind of the unbelievers (( ones abusing god’s word for their own gain ))

TOLERATES IMMORAL SEX: In Western lands, church groups ordain gay and lesbian members of the clergy and urge governments to recognize same-sex marriages. Even churches that condemn immorality have tolerated religious leaders who have sexually abused children. What, though, does the Bible teach? It plainly states: “Do not be misled. What does the future hold for religions that produce rotten fruit? Jesus warned: “Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 7:19) Yes, false religion will be chopped down and destroyed! But how and when will this happen? A prophetic vision recorded in the Bible book of Revelation, chapters 17 and 18, provides the answer.

More and More we see RELIGION accepting gays and premarital sexual relationships – living together without marriage
All these things written for our benefit – as a guide – just as if Jesus was right here right now telling us not to do them and what to look out for etc… (( False often says we are sinners and Jesus will understand )) when he said Don’t do it – keep away he really said GO Ahead do it any way I will forgive you for not listening.

In fact Jesus said He that Sins After knowing truth – there is NO Forgiveness.

Willful sin, with eyes wide open to the undeniable operation of God’s holy spirit or active force, is unforgivable and we should not pray for the forgiveness of such sinners. Even before Christ’s time intercession was not to be made for such ones. (Jer. 7:1-16; 11:14; 14:11) Willful sinners, insincere and unrepentant, set in their evil ways and unwilling to conform to God’s requirements, have “no forgiveness forever”; which means that when they die they go into second death. So we see that one does not have to be of the anointed class to sin against the holy spirit, nor does he have to have God’s spirit upon him as do the “other sheep” class in order to sin against it. Many in Satan’s visible organization sin against the holy spirit by deliberately and willfully disobeying what they know to be written in God’s Word and by not conforming to the new world society when they see the manifest operation of God’s spirit upon his visible organization.

Soon, though, an amazing event will take place. “The ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.” (Revelation 17:16) In a sudden, shocking move, the world’s political powers will turn on false religion and completely destroy her! What will prompt this action? The Bible book of Revelation answers: “God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” (Revelation 17:17) Yes, God will call false religion to account for all the despicable acts she has committed in his name. In a stroke of perfect justice, he will use her political paramours as his instrument of execution.
What must you do if you do not want to share the fate of false religion? “Get out of her, my people,” urges God’s messenger. (Revelation 18:4) Indeed, now is the time to flee from false religion! But to where can you flee? Not into atheism, since its future is also bleak. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) The only haven is within true religion. How can you identify true religion?

The Watchtower itself covers up for it’s “ministers” and members who have committed
child molestation. My friend M.R. left the organization because when his uncle was caught molesting his own daughter, which had gone on for 9 years, nothing was done to him, not even a public rebuke, literally nothing, and a year later this man was elevated to a ministerial servant. Don’t bloviate to me about the phony righteousness of the Watchtower. They sweep things under the rug just like some of “Christendom’s” ministers have done. There is an entire organization of Watchtower adherents who have experienced such molestation either themselves or of their family members in the organization. It is called “Silent Lambs- Silent no more”

I can assure you when such things like that happen swift action is met

people are disassoiated like Micael jackson and his family - Prince < the singer - The williams sisters tenes pros etc…
It is easy to get one side to a story with out accurate knowledge
folks removed who do not repent etc… speak in anger tell untruths or what is called half truths

Why not go your self
study your self - investigate - see for your self brother / sister
Then you have accurate knowledge not second / third hand
see how they do things
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and Demand Proof
