The End of False Religion is Near!

I had the funniest experience with this very thing yesterday. Lady came to my door passing out the fliers. As soon as I saw what it was, I guess she saw the smile that crossed my face and knew… oh dear, this one’s ready for me…

She couldnt run fast enough. Last thing I remember was her walking hastily to her car, turning to look at me holding up “End of False Religions” saying… “Its all in the bible!”

I mean I didnt even get a chance to ask HER any questions… she jsut ran!

Nah. That wouldn’t work. When I open wide the door, give ‘em my biggest smile and say, “Welcome! You have come to a home that witnesses to the Lord, Jesus Christ!” they flee as if the devil were chasin’ ‘em, bitin’ at their backside!

I understand the JWs will only engage with people they think they can convert. So if you’re going to make any headway with them, you need to keep youself on their “possible” list.

I have heard ex-JW’s say that, although they MUST do the door-to-door thing, they get full credit for just leaving a brochure under your doormat. They don’t absolutely have to find somebody at home and spend time trying to proselytize. A lot of JWs dislike this missionary requirement and just do the least possible to meet their quota.

Mistake number one…taking the newsletter. I never take JW media…never. The last time I had the pleasure of sitting on my outside hammock chair when a JW arrived at my front porch. I happened to have my own Catholic spiritual reading in my hands. When the JW offered me her thing I smiled and simply showed her the title of my book and said “No thanks,I have enough of my own good reading material” 😉 I kept on swinging and reading long after the JW left.

When a JW offers you media just simply say “no thanks” or “no thanks I have plenty of really good books to read”. Be sure that you are reading your own good things…mainly the Bible!!!

Why don’t Catholics bash others with pamphlets? Catholics don’t bash because it is the wrong thing to do.

No, they don’t usually as far as I know, single out one particular religion unless there is an article about that religion in their magazines. They don’t usually know who is what religion when they go door to door. Unless the person at that home tells them.

As for this tract, huck it out of you are all inclined to do, if you want to refute what it says, do your research and invite them over for a discussion on the tract.By the way, this tract is nothing new on the subject, just different wording. Same old thing

I have 4 phone numbers in my cell phone of “visitors” to my home. If I can not give them some quality time, I tell them that, and ask for their number for a future invite. They get so exicited! But for now, I am only 2for4. Two Witnesses and two Mormons have returned for conversation… one lasting four hours. The other two declined… for now. One of the best ways to learn the Truth, is to try and teach it.

They came to our door this past week as well. Interesting that they seem to do it across North America on the same day. I ended up having a quick thought at the last minute as the man handed the literature to me. I said I had something for him. He replied, “oh no you don’t need to.” But I insisted and went inside, got an invitation to a Franklin Graham Festival which was happening the following weekend, and handed it to him with a smile. I had to chuckle because it occurred to me I should maybe have a stack of some kind of tracts on hand to give to those who come to my door in this way. It’s only fair! I’m not a big fan of the door to door thing! Anyways, there’s my little story to add to the rest!

Its better if one can take it, that way the material would not fall into the hands of an unsuspecting soul who might be desperate to find Christ. The unsuspecting soul could be saved by a simple act of one taking the literature. You don’t need to read it, just dispose of it, recycle it.

Yep… That’s what I do. I take their literature, and give them some of my own. Sometimes they take it easily, other times they have a hard time and try to get out of taking it. I had heard that they aren’t "allowed’ to take other peoples literature. However, if they will NOT take my literature I will NOT take theirs.

“Pillar of Fire; Pillar of Truth” in my opinion is good to hand out.

I give them the stuff to “keep”. Just like how they give their literature to keep. Yes, know the book is good, however at $12 per book I can’t just give it to them to keep. I can’t afford that.

Pillar of Fire; Pillar of Truth, is $1.00 or less per book (The more you buy the cheaper it is)

Catholic Update is $1.09 or less per issue (The more you buy the cheaper it is)

Which makes it easier to hand out to the JW or Mormons, for them to keep and take with them. Although I will say I haven’t had any Mormons to my door in years.

I have about 5-6 copies of Pillar of Fire; Pillar of Truth here and when I get down to one copy I order/buy a few more. Because I order/buy such a low number it cost me $1.00 per book.

Catholic Update is costing me $27 for 12 months. (I get 3 copies per Month; so that’s $.75 per copy).

Could one not photo copy certain chapters in the book?
 
You can always print the CA Tracts from the library here and give them a copy.

Truthfully I don’t know

Honestly, I worry about doing stuff like that because of “copyright” laws.

So in short, I don’t photo copy stuff to hand out…
