It’s so crazy. I look at their comments. So many Catholics say they turned away from Catholicism. Some are saying turn away from religion, no religion can save you. Accept jesus into your life? They’re so crazy. Their weakness is church history. So confusing.
WHO. CARES.

You keep getting freaked out by YouTube videos like they’re a legitimate source of serious information. You realize any crazy person with a webcam and an internet connection can make a YouTube “documentary”, right?

If you actually want to learn something, look for reputable stuff from legitimate scholars, not weirdos posting crackpot theories from the basement.

I know how you feel. Those videos and comments have made me uneasy, too - though there are also many videos of people from all different denominations converting TO Catholicism - and I have been having similar confusion about what is from God and what is not.

Breathe. Accept that God understands where you are on your journey, and be okay with not knowing all the answers right at the moment… and as the other posters say, stop watching those videos and reading the comments. They only fuel doubt and panic, and no good decisions can be made in that state of turmoil.

Pray, pray, pray. God bless you.

These anti-Catholic people will probably try to tell you that the Shroud of Turin is a fake medieval production (if they even know what it is at all.) That should be enough to demonstrate to you that they really do not know what they are talking about.

That has got nothing to do with what other people think about the Holy Shroud.

So I’ve been looking on YouTube.
Aha! Here’s your problem! One must be very sure of their faith before venturing into the world of wolves.

At this point in your faith life, you should not, but if you must cruise YouTube, look up Fr. Mike, Fr. William Nicholas, Bishop Robert Barron, or other Catholic standouts who seek to deepen your faith, not destroy it.

Ignore all the others - no matter how much sense they seem to make. The devil seemed to make sense in the garden of Eden.

Ignore them.

Studying Catholicism made me really weird. It made me keep searching for truth.
Trust me: it’s not weird, it’s normal. The desire for truth is a huge part of why people become Catholic.

As for YouTube, you can find lots of YouTube channels that are anti-Catholic. Some of them are more subtle, while others are full-blown conspiracy theorists. The most reasonable approach to any of these channels is an eye roll.

Not to mention the user deletes all the comments that are contrary to their opinion the Babylonian conspiracy theories are silly. The people who believe that stuff are extremely gullible and quite ignorant they won’t listen to you if your a catholic. Its impossible to do apologetics with them

I even have a story about how gullible they are its a bit mean but he was asking for it. One guy was saying all this stuff he read in some anti catholic book called 2 babaylons any the debate just kept on going around it circles and I decided I had a enough and was going to end it but I wanted to have a bit of fun first so I said that we catholics worship gozek the gozerian the ancient Mesopotamian god of destruction who is a genderless being. He ate it right up but when I tried to tell him and give him explicit evidence that the romans counted inclusively he kept on saying that I was underestimating the technological power of the ancients and just because he heard somewhere that Michelangelo was gay and was comminised to paint the Sistine chapel discredits every single pope. We have to pray for people like this
