In loving memory of my grandmother, Estelle, who’s 1 yr. anniversary of going home to be with the Lord will be on Oct. 27.

She is missed dearly by my mother, aunt, her grandchildren, and great grand children.

My mother is in need of prayers seeing as she really misses gram and is having a hard time coping.

thank you.

You and your intentions will be in my prayers.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

God bless you †

Lord Grant Eternal rest to My husband of 46 years. Joseph.
He passed 1 year and 9 mo ago.Sometimes I think 'Oh I must tell Joe that" and then remember…
.He quietly loved God …and knelt to say his prayers every night until he could no longer kneel
Lord Grant eternal rest to my wonderful Parents Joseph and Maryann…
My Dad also was quiet with his love for God
But I knew because, when I was a child I’d see him with his rosary beads and I’d see him bless himself passing a church or cemetery.
My Mother I beleive was a living Saint with her love of Jesus and His Mother. She would sit with us children on the back porch and we would pray the Rosary.
I fondly remember saying “Momma, I wish I could see The Blessed Mother some day in the clouds” and her reply was “Oh but you do now… Look at the blue sky …It is Blessed Mother Blue” It is the color of her Mantle and It covers us all"
Lord grant eternal rest to my brother Joe and brother-in law Tom
Both missed very Much.
Lord grant eternal rest to all my family that have gone before me.
Lord Grant Eternal rest to all the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
My Mothers death proved to me that there is a Heaven…
a story for another time…:signofcross:

All loved ones who have passed on will be in my prayers; especially during the month of November.

Today is all Souls day. This is the day set aside for all those who have heaven guaranteed but are presently in a state of purgation. Let us hold them up in prayer that the Blood of the Lamb may bathe them and cleanse them so they may enjoy that eternal vision of the One, Triune God. Our Creator, Savior and Guide. Our one goal and reason for being. Let us rejoice with them for having heaven guaranteed and as Church Militant, pray for them and their release from purgation to spiritual purity to enjoy the Beatific Vision.

A question for Deacon Ed or anyone who knows the answer:

I pray for my dead relatives and friends who made it as far as Purgatory, but I really wonder if I can change anything. I’ve prayed for myself every day for years and I 've gotten no results, so it’s difficult to imagine that the prayers I say for others would have a noticeable effect.

Since the dead are not suffering in linear, chronological time like a prison sentence, what exactly am I doing for them? Is God really going to listen to my prayers for someone’s soul in Purgatory when He doesn’t even answer my prayers on earth?

I pray because I’m commanded to pray, but until I see some positive effects from it in this life, I will continue to doubt its effectiveness on the dead.

Any comments?

Did you ever stop to think o where you might be if you did not pray. All of our prayers are answered, as God knows is best for our salvation. . Yes, the souls in purgatory do suffer. More than we could ever describe. Each soul has as its purpose of creation, to be with God in heaven for eternity to enjoy the Beatific Vision. To be deprived dof this purpose is a suffering and void, an emptiness which is more devastating than anything we could ever imagine in this life. Those in purgatory know they will get to heaven. They do not know when. We call these souls the Church Suffering. They are able to pray for us but not themselves. It is our job as Church Militant to pray fro the Church Suffering and the Church Militant. The Church Triumphant, the souls in heaven, prays for us all, the Church suffering and the Church militant. This is the communion of saints in action, praying for that full communion of souls which is for all of us to be united with God in the Beatific Vision. St Paul in his letter to the Corinthians explained it ths way, “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it so much has dawned on the mind of man what God has in store for those who love him.”

I would like to remember my Grandpa, who passed away 3 years ago. He was always a solid figure in my life.

I would also like to remember and pray for my Great Aunt Caroline. She was the youngest and was so full of life all the way to her passing.

I pray that both of them be with God this day and for all eternity. I know they are watching over us now.🙂

Happy Birthday Grandma !

Edna Barcus would have been 110 today. She’s been gone now 28 years.

Nope–not gone—in my heart. I love you Grandma.

Dear Brothers and Sisters…
In your prayers please remember my Son, Adrian, who passed away 6 years ago, aged 18 years. Today he would have been 24 years old. In God’s Mercy, he was taken in sleep and did not suffer. I thank God for those years of happiness HE gave us with Adrian…
Blessings, Douglas.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of my uncle, Joe M., who died this past Friday.

Thank you.

I would like my father, my grandparents and all of my deceased family members in Poland remembered in prayer.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto my deceased daughter, my deceased mom & dad, my deceased grandma from my dad’s side whom I called Nony, auntee Betty and auntee Margaret;
my uncles- Angelo and Chick, my best friend Doris, Oh, how I miss them so terrribly…so terribly.
my sister’s deceased fiance, Lenny;
Segundo Torres whom we sponsored, the souls most destitute of spiritual aide, and the souls for which there is no remembrance on earth…my husband’s deceased grandma and grandpa, my deceased grandma and grandpa from my mom’s side.
Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord, let perpetual light shine upon them, may the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
I pray that one day all of us will be at that big banquet sharing in God’s glory for all eternity!

Lord Grant Eternal rest to all the persons whom prayer is requested for.

In memory of my earthly father:

Ernest Paige Gilliam
Born: Nov. 2, 1925
Died: Nov. 15, 2003

Please pray for God’s mercy for him. He died from leukemia and he was not Catholic but went to church every Sunday and loved and believed in God. I beg for your prayers of forgiveness and mercy for him. He was such a kind and loving father and would have given his shirt off his back for anyone. I miss him so much and it kills me to think he could be suffering for any reason. Please pray for him. Thank you.
